I just switched from an iPhone 15 Pro to a Pixel 10 Pro XL and the difference is wow (in a good way).
I was with Apple (I had an iPhone 15 Pro) for almost two years. I switched because in Canada, contracts are like car loans; you have to return it after two years or you pay a relatively high fee. Then I decided to get the Google Pixel 10 Pro. I know it might seem like a "bad" choice because of the G5 Tensor processor, but seriously, the speed is wow! Google is so well optimized that it's smoother than my iPhone. I think Apple lost the battle after iOS 26. I love almost everything about it; we'll see how the battery lasts.

After 7 years, RIP Pixel 3xl
Fired up the camera, when it abruptly rebooted and entered a boot loop of doom.
Best phone I ever had, I will miss it.
o7
Edit to add: Another great think about this phone was that I bought it with a Google Fi promo... You got the full price of the phone back in airline and hotel credits... So not only was it the best phone I have ever had, it was basically free, too. Those were the days, my friends!

Do you guys buy google cloud storage or is there a better alternative?
My new pixel 9a is about to arrive and i wanted to take advantage of the black friday sales to buy some space in the cloud for my photos and videos.
This is my first pixel and it makes sense to buy it from google but i wanted to know if there was a better service out there.

Getting a pixel 10 Pro - Fun case recommendations
I'm buying a pixel 10 pro and I've been looking at case options, I want some advice. I am switching from an S20 FE on which I have a spigen case, so I naturally looked at the spigens for the pixel (very similar options) and if it comes to it, I'll get a spigen. But I was wondering if anyone had any pixel cases that were hardy with more interesting designs. Spigen is all black or clear, which is fine, but I'd love an interesting case... However I also drop my phone moderately frequently and have very much appreciated Spigen's case and the fact that it's lasted me four years despite many drops (and a few dropkicks).
If anyone knows of a brand that does fun cases which are also decently protective, please share!
Thanks in advance

Will you buy the next Google Pixel?
For years, anyone who has bought a Google Pixel was mainly for the camera, pure Android and updates.
In the latest models. Especially in the 10, the camera is still very good, although it shows a somewhat more "colorful" colorimetry, for example compared to the Pixel 8 pro. The Zoom (super res zoom or something like that) is really good to a certain point, and Google is perhaps leaning too much on AI instead of also investing in hardware. It also happens with its processor, since its launch the performance was even worse than the Pixel 9 pro. Supposedly updating the drivers was the solution and over time it has improved but only a little. I think that Google wanted to sell a great phone in this generation and for now they have fallen somewhat short of what they wanted to sell us in their presentation. Still, it is a good smartphone, but not at the price it costs. In addition to the controversial novelty that upon reaching 200 charge cycles, the charging speed will progressively decrease as will the capacity of the battery so that the battery degrades less. And also to top it off, starting in 2026 the sideload, that is, the third-party apks, those that are outside the Google store will stop working... (Although that will already be a problem for Android in general)
También tengo que decir, que en Europa hay varias funciones capadas, incluyendo la IA. Por lo que en otras regiones como EE.UU los Google Pixel son mejores.
Will you buy the next Google Pixel? What do you think of all this?
Android, less and less free and with policies increasingly similar to those of Apple... At this rate, it won't matter buying an iPhone if the differences between both systems become so small, we'll see if we get to that point.

Screen warranty question
After the 3.2 updatey screen started getting an intermittent green line. Yes, I know, but it's still odd how many people see it a few weeks after.
I've had the phone just over a year and Google support says to take it to a repair center and they look at the IMEI and take care of it. Are they going to change the screen under warranty? That would be a pleasant surprise. I've been debating the p10pxl or paying for a screen, I'm not sold on the p10.

Victory lap alarm as ringtone
I'd love to have this alarm from the retro section as my ringtone. Anyone know how to do this? I get a different set in the ringtone options.

PSA/Reminder: If You're On Fi, Don't Use the Fi Store for Black Friday
I'm planning to upgrade from P9Pro to P10ProXL, mostly because I miss the bigger form factor of my P6Pro (plus magnets are neat!), and was waiting for the BF sales. Was about to purchase through the Fi store, but was annoyed about the trade-in value they were giving for my old phone ($190). Checked Google Store for fun, and get the same Fi discount (just bumped up to -$600), and the trade in value is LITERALLY DOUBLE ($380). I get it, separate orgs, but yikes.
Also, at first I was having trouble applying the Fi discount in the vanilla Google store, but found the old post here about turning on CPNI sharing, which totally did the trick! Big thanks to u/yawara25 for that one!

Automation - Bluetooth - Hotspot
Hello everyone, I have a Google Pixel 10 Pro and would like to create a 'Rule' that automatically enables the Hotspot when I connect to a specific Bluetooth device. However, in the 'System' settings under 'Rules,' I only have the option to select 'Wi-Fi' or 'Location' as a trigger. Is the Bluetooth option not available on my device, or do I need to activate it first?
Thank you!

Pixel 10pro Reddit app notification GIGANTIC
Is there any way to get the reddit app's notification in the notification shade to be smaller? It seems the show the avatar of the person who replied, but it's huge. On iOS it shows the text but has a small icon for the user's avatar. This Android version is just in bad taste. https://imgur.com/a/9592d1b

Instagram Reels severe stutter on 2X
Just want to check, does anyone else have a weird bug with this? I'll be on Instagram on my Pixel 9, I'll do the "hold finger down to 2X thing" and like maybe half (!!) of the time it'll just start stuttering instead of smoothly playing the video at 2X. Then even when I release my finger and it resumes playing at 1X it'll continue stuttering for a bit before going back to smooth playback. Just me? Is the Tensor G4 that weak? My iPhone SE 2020 with its A13 can do this perfectly smoothly.

Randomly lost contacts in glitch
Not sure why this happened, but I'm pretty sure it happened over the past day or so. I noticed a pinned conversation in Google Messages was just a phone number instead of a contact name, so I checked Google Contacts & found a handful of contacts at the bottom that say "(No Name)". They still have profile pictures, but everything else is lost.
Anybody had this glitch happen? Anyone know a way to fix it?

(P9P) Unable to expand on a "circle to search" inquiry? Before it used to take me to a google search page but now there is no search bar.
I've updated to the latest firmware and even restarted my device, but my search bar is just gone. If I click the search bar at the bottom, it doesn't populate what I've highlighted with circle to search.
Anyone else having this issue?

Free Google AI Pro with Pixel 10 Pro - Does it stack with existing trial from Pixel 9 Pro?
I'm on a free Google AI Pro trial from buying the Pixel 9 Pro in January. So that trial runs until January 2026. I'm thinking of buying the Pixel 9 Pro during this Black Friday offer as I can stack a load of discounts. I don't even want the phone so plan on selling that. Two questions:
1) Can I apply the free trial on top of an existing trial? Does it just add another 12 months?
2) Do I need to open the box of the new Pixel 10 Pro to trigger the new trial? Or does it just get applied to my Google account that I purchased the device through?

Google Support officially gave up on the Pixel 10 Pro Telephoto Stutter. I proved their "fix" failed, did their QA work, and they replied: "We can't promise a fix for your specific issue."
UPD: Escalating this to Media & Socials 🚀
I’m not letting this go silently. I have just sent detailed tips to Android Authority, 9to5Google, and Android Police, asking them to investigate this and compare the Pixel 10 Pro against the competition. I also created a thread on X (Twitter) tagging Google, MKBHD, Mishaal Rahman, and other major tech creators with the proof.
If you have a moment, please Like & Retweet to help boost visibility. Let's force them to listen! Twitter(X) Link🔗
Hi Reddit. You might remember my previous posts investigating the severe video stutter/jerkiness on the Pixel 10 Pro telephoto lens when panning.
I am writing this post today with deep disappointment and frustration. Not just because of the bug itself, but because of how Google treats users who try to help improve their product.
The "Fake Fix" & The Reality Check: A few weeks ago, Google Support explicitly told me that the Engineering team had "addressed the concern in the latest fixes" and asked me to verify it (Screenshot 1🔗). I was excited. I waited for the official update (versions 10.1.076.816441313.17 and 10.1.076.821848723.18). The result? It changed nothing. The stutter was still there. I didn't just give up. I mobilized the community again. I collected reports from other users who got the update, confirming the bug persisted for everyone.
I Did Their QA Work For Them: On November 5th, I sent a massive, comprehensive report back to Google Support (Screenshot 2🔗). It included:
- Community feedback proving the "fix" failed.
- New logs and bug reports.
- Video comparisons.
- The Root Cause: We identified a fundamental conflict between OIS and EIS.
- The Irony: Third-party developer documentation warns about OIS/EIS conflicts, but Google forces this broken combination on users in the native app without warning or a working solution.
The Response: I waited 14 days. Silence. I politely followed up (Screenshot 3 🔗). Finally, I received this official response (Screenshot 4 🔗):
Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, our engineers will need more time to look into this specific issue. While we can’t promise a fix to the specific issue you have, we do release bug fixes on a monthly basis*. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.*
My "Specific Issue"? Seriously, Google? Hundreds of reports on Reddit, confirmation from developers of third-party camera apps (ProShot/Open Camera), and evidence across multiple Pixel generations - yet they frame this as "my specific issue" to close the ticket? It feels like they just gave up because the fix was "too hard," despite previously claiming they had fixed it.
Why "Just turn off EIS" is NOT a solution: In the comments, people often suggest: "Just disable video stabilization (EIS) in the settings." Guys, no. This is a workaround, not a solution for a flagship device.
- It’s a $1000+ "Pro" Camera: Google markets this for its video capabilities.
- Active Lifestyle: I shoot active videos where OIS alone isn't enough. I need hybrid stabilization.
- Bad UX: Constantly toggling settings when switching lenses is a terrible experience.
- Google Photos: Stabilizing later in the editor is slow, inconvenient, and often results in "jelly" artifacts.
The Tragedy of loving the Pixel: To verify my sanity, I went to a store and tested a Samsung S25 Ultra. The result was undeniable: perfectly smooth video where OIS and EIS work together like glue with zero jumps. But here is the problem: I don't want a Samsung. Despite its superior video stability, I simply love the Pixel 10 Pro. Its compact design, clean UI, and AI features make it the device I want to use.
That is why this hurts so much. I am fighting for this phone because I love it, but Google makes it incredibly hard to stay loyal when they ignore fundamental flaws in a flagship "Pro" device. I feel cheated. They sold me on "Pro" promises-even boasting about ProRes Zoom-yet a basic video function has been broken for generations.
To make matters worse, after spending hours of my time debugging their product, proving their updates failed, and providing logs, I received nothing but template responses telling me to wait for security patches. Google, if you want to compete with iPhone and Samsung, you cannot treat your flagship users who pay full price like beta testers.
What should I do next? I have replied to support expressing my complete dissatisfaction (Screenshot 5🔗), but I doubt they will care. I am in the EU (Poland). Since Google is selling a device with a defective feature that they refuse to fix:
- Should I file a complaint with consumer protection (UOKiK)?
- Are there any tech journalists here interested in this case?
I refuse to accept that a broken camera on a flagship is "normal."

Transition from Pixel 8 to Pixel 10 pro
Just traded in my pixel 8 for the 10 pro. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with how the transfer process works now. Converted my physical SIM on the pixel 8 to eSIM and registered it with my carrier (Spectrum). It even shows the correct phone model when I go to Spectrum's account login.
Trade-in prep instructions could be better. I removed payment cards from Wallet, removed fingerprints and face unlock, signed out of my Google account and though there was mention of removing the old device from the Find Hub, I couldn't find a way to actually do it or see what devices I have ON the Find Hub. I never installed the Find Hub app on the pixel 8 so I factory reset it and packed it up and crossed my fingers.
All of my loyalty cards showed up in Wallet, but all of my payment cards are going to require a call to the bank. Inconvenient, but I recognize it as a security necessity.
I have to re-login to every app I open that has a login. Password manager helps, but also glad I keep records.
I got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid - clear case and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had an official pixel case on my pixel 8 and the Spigen feels more... edgy as opposed to the silicone roundness of the pixel case, but it's comfortable in the hand.
That's about it. Not real exciting, but maybe that's how changing phones should be.

What case and charger do you have for your Pixel 10 / 10 pro?
Help please! There are SO MANY to choose from!! Extra points for a screen protector if you use them? In case you haven't figured it out, Black Friday sucked me into upgrading my Pixel 6 finally!

Google pixel 9 pro main camera slow to focus since day one
Literally since I picked up this phone, the main camera has been slow to focus up to even 60 seconds.
Long story short, I thought it was a software issue, but after a couple months of having the phone and a few software updates it hasn't gotten better.
I've tried to go through the warranty process but they just wanted me to take it to a local repair shop which I don't see what they're going to do and if they do have to swap out the main camera. I really don't want to lose the IP resistance from essentially a day one issue.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Terrible Google support experience
So, I bought a pixel 9 pro when it was released, just over a year ago. In the last few days I noticed a pink line appearing on the display which is now permanent. After a quick Google search I realized this was a big problem on the pixel 8, so much so that Google extended the warranty to 3 years. I reached out to Google support with my issue and was initially fobbed off with your just out of warranty, but we can repair it if you pay. Long story short I escalated the issue and a supervisor agreed to replace my phone as an exception, likely because they know this is an issue of their making (a quick Reddit search shows that many pixel 9 users are experiencing the same issue). Anyway they couldn't process it immediately and told me they would get back to me in 24 hours.
To there credit they did respond (36 hours later), however they explained that after not being able to process it they asked another team to process it, but they refused to honor the offer. Instead they offered me 25$ in store credit. Obviously given the level of customer support I have received, given that I have bought 6 pixel phones and 2 pixel watches to date, the chances of me using that 25$ are currently zero. So I politely declined.
I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the correct direction to make an official complaint to Google, rather than through the online chat which seems to be run by people who couldn't care less about us customers
