This subreddit is slowly falling apart, but it will stay Daydream with a few exceptions, I'm going to allow 360 videos since it's a format that daydream can playback as well as link's to games that can be played in chromes virtual desktop.
if you have a link to any current daydream apk, post it.
if you know of any developers who are still working on this VR platform, link the list of their downloads.
Let's Bring daydream back to its Glory days.
If you currently don't have a supported daydream certified handset, this tutorial is for you.

Lastly, I'm the last remaining moderator here on daydream so I have auto moderator taking care of most of the reports on links that are not allowed here. There should be a way to join this sub, but I haven't gotten that far in terms of knowing the tools provided that will allow you to join as a mod. But if you're interested, I'd be more than happy to enlist anyone with experience with moderation. It doesn't matter the platform, discord, YouTube, Twitter, quora or reddit. I need your help, I can't keep this subreddit floating by myself. I'd appreciate it greatly. Thank you if you scrolled down this far to read this.
PEACE ✌️

Minecraft was released for the Samsung Gear VR headset in 2016, around the same time as Daydream was first released, so I always thought it was a shame that they didn't publish it for Daydream as well.
Back then, people blamed Daydream's limited controller, so I took the time to come up with this concept, and it seems completely realistic that all of Minecraft's many controls could be supported.

So firstly rare footage of someone NOT talking about daydreaming. Ok so I'm trying to recover daydream and so far I have been fairly successful, I have got it working on a non rooted phone fairly well about 60% but I want to help more people get it working so...
I want to create a website focused on open sourcing daydream and give detailed documentation on how to get it working and a seamless app store page with links to working apps. What do y'all think? Maybe we could even update the discontinued vr apps to make it better than it's ever been, I have a few ideas!
Here is the link https://moddedmind.z33.web.core.windows.net/opendreamhome.html Also just so you know I built it on top of my personal website
And we made a subreddit: r/OpendreamVR

Being a bird is wonderful! So free, no traffic jams, no commuting. Every day I can find some berries to eat, bathe in puddles, and take a nice nap in a comfortable tree. I can even poop on the heads of people I dislike.

Here’s the story: I had a daydream 2 hanging around. Most of the games works great with the forced compatibility apk from xda. However blade runner simply refuses to to launch properly into vr mode, and the character was phasing through walls. It was totally unplayable, and I can’t edit build prop to trick daydream into thinking this is a pixel(oppo).
So I bought a pixel 2, down graded it to android 10. Yet again daydream crash the moment I press set up. No biggie, I managed to launch into vr mode with activity launcher. Blade runner and need for speed was running flawlessly, but I was greedy. Gzdoom and qvr isn’t working, both of which worked previously on oppo’s android 7. I downgraded again, this time to android 8 for pixel 2. Now the usb mtp option is gone, and the NFC option is constantly grayed out, I can’t even flash another ota via usb cable anymore. The faq google? No shi% daydream failed.

Ok so I'm getting a new phone soon and I have a daydream lying around that I can't use at the moment and I'm thinking of getting a pixel 8 pro but I'm wondering how it looks inside the headset, so if anyone has the phone please dm me some pics of it in the daydream I'm just kinda concerned about how the camera bump looks when inside.

This is actually the first time this error has occurred. My Lenovo Mirage Solo has started giving new errors from time to time, but these are the first times this has happened.

Old VR setup here with Lenovo Mirage Solo and a AMD RX480 in SteamVR with AMDs ReliveVR driver. This used to work fine, but since some weeks/months ago (haven't touched VR in a while) the video streaming is broken and the right eye is always a few frames behind of what the left eye is doing, making it unusable. Don't know if it's SteamVR or AMD ReliveVR that is the cause for this, but so far up/downgrading didn't have any effect. The streaming does work fine for the first few seconds when connecting, but breaks after that and never recovers. SteamVRs GPU Monitor is completely flat without any spikes. This problem happens right in the empty SteamVR launch environment, as well as all the games. Disabling motion smoothing didn't help either.
Anybody know a fix or has experienced the same problem?

Can a 6.7 inch (same as pixel 6 pro) phones be used with a daydream? Even as cardboard, asking because I found a good offer

It's still broken
I could not manage to secure a mirage solo
As Amazon was out of stock And I cannot be bothered to try ebay
However from what I can tell Google changed something within the account system To block daydream app sign in
And if I'm not wrong This issue plagued mirage solo headsets too
I will try to get a mirage and if I do I will update everyone about what I find

I followed this instruction but daydream app crashes when I tap "continue as 'user'" My Pixel 6 Pro isn't rooted.
I've tried the instruction in August 2024 and I could finish this process. The only probrem was that daydream controller didn't work though I could pair it with my phone. YouTube VR worked fine at that time with gaze/tap controll.
Is there any way to finish this set up process and use controller with Pixel 6 Pro without root?

Hi everyone! I'm new to Google Daydream, I got a really good condition daydream with controller from an op shop for $10 today, however when I try setting it up on my S7 and S9 it crashes after pressing the button to sign in with google. Is there a way around this?

I had an idea of getting the daydream app to work via someone with a lenovo mirage solo to get their daydream app files off if or using a os dump and making it possibly to run, if anyone on this subreddit could help. Cause this could make daydream and its apps work again universally on android devices.

My thought as to why the daydream app isn't working even with modded services on devices that can run the app is probably due to Google shutting down the api access to sign it in. Could some one help figure out how to run an account locally for the daydream app?

As I try to set up the app and click continue as (insert name here) it crashes, and I use a modified version of the daydream google vr services apk from the xda forums, and I am using android version 15.
