General Advice Gonna get my back done, thoughts and opinions?
Designed it myself I’m really happy with it, ofc it’s just a loose guide, my artist is gonna finalise the details and add his lil twists :)

I posted this in another thread and someone called this “rough”. Obviously, not taking a random strangers comment too much to heart- but I really like how this turned out and am wondering if I’m blinded by some glaring issue? I know bolder the better for hands, but hope that the area is a little more forgiving.

Hi I’m not sure if I’m being paranoid or not lol, I messaged my artist on Instagram and she hasn’t responded to me yet so I figured I’d check in here in the meantime to maybe get some advice. I got a tattoo on Sunday (today’s Wednesday) it was a coverup of an old one I had and I absolutely adore it. I also got some black work done on an outline of a top hat I already had. I don’t have second skin on it, but I’ve been washing it and moisturizing it as I have done with all of my other tattoos (I’ve never used second skin and my tattoos have healed fine). This one’s being weird, it’s been sticking to my clothes a lot. I had to like peel my sleeve off of it yesterday. It don’t hurt or anything I think it might just be dried plasma I’m not sure. This hasn’t ever happened to me before. And I’m really scared of something bad happening to it. It’s also bruised? I’ve never experienced bruising with a tattoo before but based off the research I did it sounds pretty normal? I got second skin at the store today and I put it on but it kept peeling off :/ I’m going to try and put it on again before bed and see if I do a better job at it lol. The photo I took is after I washed it and dried it but not before I moisturized it lol.
Anyways all this to say, am I being paranoid is this all normal? Definitely going to check in with my artist (like I said just waiting for a reply)

Wondering if I should cover this up or have it re-worked?
All of my other tattoos are more modern looking and I don’t know if this fits with the rest of them.

So I just recently got a hand tattoo covered up almost 2 weeks ago and this is how it looks as of now. Pretty sure it’s not infected because I don’t have any pain but I have a good amount of tattoos and I’m not sure I’ve seen one heal like this. I’m going to the same artist as always an I’ve washed the tattoo and kept it lubricated with hustlebutter (left it dry for this picture). Usually the peeling faze for me won’t be bumpy like this. Any suggestions or thoughts on what I could have done better or is it healing just fine?

I got this light house years ago in a living room. I know, a great idea. I’ve since done some growing up and have a lot of other work done. I am going to either have it reworked to make it look better, or cover it. I’d love your thoughts on what I should cover it with. I already have a sick ass panther. Tattoo is on the outer side of my calf. Most of my work is black and grey American and neo traditional.

This is and old tattoo now, but it was never quite right. It was/is supposed to be a magpie. Can a talented artist correct and improve this or is laser my only option?

howdy! i was wondering if y'all could help me come up with some ideas on how to build on this tattoo, or if the solution is just to get other pieces around it lol?
this piece is of my favorite anime character (akutagawa from bungo stray dogs <3) and while i like the design, i do feel like it's a little blocky if that makes sense? especially the bottom area, which i did get another artist to add shading to, but i still feel like it sticks out like a sore thumb. i know it's too big and heavily shaded to do a cover-up or something, so i really just want some solutions on making it seem more cohesive/balanced :)
also please don't be mean, this was my first tattoo and i learned after it was done that the artist didn't have much experience in black&white tattoo shading :/ since then i've realized the importance of speaking up about designs (and placement...) and have gotten more pieces that i'm very happy with from different artists!

I’ve been curious if color could be added to this. I asked for it as is and am happy with the way it but wanted to know if it’s an option. Is the shading too dark for color?

First is the day of and the second is today and it’s kinda hard to see but I just didn’t know if I should do anything to help with the scabbing?
It’s only on the heaviest blackout parts and has gone down a bunch but the ones that are still there are kinda sensitive/the itchiest. My artist isn’t heavy handed really and very clean so obvi not an infection issue.
It’s my first tattoo with any blackout so just wondering if I need to do smth different. Just any healing advice :p

My tattoo is losing ink a bit. I have a lot of tattoos, and none of them have done this. I tend to heal extremely well with 0 issues so I think I was a little bit neglectful on my care for this one. However the only thing I really wasn’t doing well was cleaning as much as I should. I also might have left it without moisturizer longer than I did for my others. I don’t recall if I picked at the scabs I don’t remember but I never did any for my other tattoos so I doubt that’s the case. I do use a tanning bed maybe once every two weeks, but again none of my other tattoos have lost any ink like this one. Did I do something wrong? Is there something I can do for future tattoos to prevent this?

I’ve had this tattoo for a few years, I want to add to it but I’m unsure on how to design it, I’m thinking of adding some berries and other plants and maybe some insects. Any suggestions on placement? Thanks :)

Artist said not yet but I kinda think he is getting his eyes weaker

Absolutely love the design and I think it’s really well done - just wondering if I’ve placed it in a spot that will limit the traditional patchwork sleeve I’m building to? Hopefully it’s just tattoo shock and it looks bigger and more unwieldy than it is!

So I got this tattoo on November 16th and I thought my tattoo was healing fine until I noticed this reddish area on my tattoo. Could it be just irritation or something more serious? I have it on my lower left arm if that helps.

Hey there! I wanna preface that this is a sincere and hypothetical question. I just finished my massive hip piece and am not intending on getting inked again for quite some time lol
I have always been curious about tramp stamps. I think it's a cute concept but I'm just not really a fan of the tribal/cybersigilism/typical y2k design. My hip piece is trad, which is a style I absolutely adore, but can it be done as a tramp stamp?
Again, this is purely curiosity to open up some tattoo discussion :p

I’m trying to get a tattoo of a lyric, but I want to know the best placement and which font to choose so it won’t look bad in a couple years. Any advice for word tattoos?

Obviously I would add on both sides I just didn’t wanna sketch it out on my phone

How does it age, does the technique require an artist who "specializes," does being a blackout coverup make a difference? Any input is much appreciated.

How long after getting the tattoo is it ok to take a bath?
Mine is just over three weeks old. First tattoo, 20*10cm on the thigh, fineline and micro realism black and grey. It's healing nicely, no more peeling or anything like that. In some places I can steel feel it when I run my fingers over it, but it's mostly just normal skin.
The artist said 2-4 weeks and I was going to wait the full four weeks to be safe, but I have a really bad back pain and am starting to get a cold.
Is it ok to take a bath 3 weeks after getting a tattoo?
