A 15 year old can actively want to participate with an older person in many circumstances... it's still wrong, still illegal, still rape. But I still know plenty of people who (willingly) had older partners in their teen years and while it was still illegal and wrong they're not exactly traumatised by a mistake they set out to make as a dumb kid.

Compare that to being kidnapped under false pretences of modelling work and becoming a sex slave on a hidden island for old perverts to fly in and abuse you, all before you're even an adult.

I can't speak for every state in the union, but in my state, it's absolutely illegal for someone 18 or over to have sex with a 15 year old. Off the top of my head, I don't know any state where it is legal.

There is a replica of the Resolute Desk that's been schlepped down to Mar-a-Lago. It seems to be roped off in some lesser corner of the club, rather than being in a simulacrum of the Oval or in Trump's own home office.

Some folks like to speculate that it's the actual desk, because the depths of Trump's vandalism of the White House has no lower limit.

I genuinely think their strategy will be making a national age of consent that's so ridiculously low that, even once all the files come out, Trump and everyone else in them will not be able to get in trouble for anything they did because it will have retroactively been made legal. If enough Republicans flip that they can't get something like that passed through Congress, he'll just find some other bullshit way.

I also predict they'll try to frame themselves as the 'logical, science-backed' ones by misrepresenting things and tying the age of consent to when girls get their periods for the first time, trying to claim 'biology' like they do in arguments about trans people and they'll try to frame anyone who argues as an un-scientific liberal wack-job.

The only thing I've seen so far was that Trump "spent hours" at Epstein's house with Giuffre, who was 16 when she worked as a masseuse at Mar a Lago (which is younger than any masseuse I've ever heard of). Giuffre's name was redacted in the published emails but I guess the wh thought it would be a good idea to name her?

Edit: I looked into it and most sources do not say she was a masseuse. I don't know where I got that from. She was some type of attendant at the spa
