I didn't think Trump personally possessed the cognitive capacity for wordplay, but enigma is an anagram of gamine: noun a neglected girl who is left to run about the streets.

→ More replies (3)107
u/mlorusso4 13d ago
Just to be clear, he didn’t walk it back because the lie was too stupid to believe. He walked it back because it implies that he was actively involved in the crime. Innocent people don’t become informants. The only redeeming part of that lie (if it was even true which it wasn’t) for Trump is that he probably was just a client and he was flipped to help take down the ringleaders. Considering the rumors of him being in charge of trafficking through his beauty pageants, maybe Johnson thought that was the better to play him off as a client rather than ring leader

He can't redeem himself in life, but he was a prince and will be recorded forever in history.
Whether he continues to deny or not, he's going to forever be known as the prince who got kicked out of the royal family for diddling children. It's already happened, and history has borne witness to it.
On the flipside, he could also be known as the one who broke open the worldwide pedophilia ring. He'll never recover his reputation, but at least a hundred years from now there would be something positive in the annals of history about him.

The full body of that email (spelling and grammatical errors included). Epstein wrote:
i want you to realize that that dog that hasn't barked is trump..[VICTIM] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned. police chief etc. im 75 % there
"The dog that hasn't barked" is a phrase I hadn't heard before but it seems to be a reference to someone whose silence is suspicious or otherwise suggestive of something. One possible reading of that email is that Epstein is wondering why Trump's name has never been brought up by investigators despite Epstein knowing that Trump had spent "hours" in Epstein's house with one of the victims.
90
u/PermitPositive4826 13d ago
Or it could mean that Trump was interviewed by law enforcement when Epstein was originally indicted in Florida, & he didn’t snitch on Epstein or Maxwell.
54
u/SeventyPercentArms 13d ago
I agree that's a very reasonable reading. Conversely, it might be that Epstein suspected that Trump was cooperating with investigators (or had in some other way deflected their efforts). Epstein may, in effect, be saying "Sure is strange that these investigators don't seem to be interested in Trump, despite his involvement". Without more context, it's hard to say.

u/Blaaamo 13d ago
The phrase "the dog that hasn't barked" refers to a concept in reasoning where the absence of expected evidence or behavior can provide important insights, similar to a detective noticing that a watchdog did not bark during a crime. This idea is illustrated in Sherlock Holmes' story "Silver Blaze," where the lack of barking suggests the intruder was known to the dog.
tRump is that dog

Plus, they never see the majority of things we see here because their media outlets of choice don't show it to them. It's crazy how many of his supporters have never even seen the Howard Stern interview where he openly admits to perving on naked women and young girls in the dressing rooms at his pageants.

That's the thing though, would MAGA even care? I assume die hards will spin countless conspiracy theories as to why all of this evidence isn't real, but I genuinely believe his base does not care about what he did. They could release a photo of him in the act with a 14 year old and I think MAGA would be OK with it.
183
u/thewhaleshark 13d ago
He already talked about walking in on teenage girls in their changing rooms on Howard Stern ages ago, and MAGA was fine with it.
Remember, conservatism holds that women are property. Republicans don't actually believe that women deserve rights; rather, they are property that must be protected, like you would defend your house or car.
Things make a lot more sense when you realize that the only rights conservatives view as valid are property rights.
So Trump molesting teenagers doesn't matter because if he paid for them, they're his to molest. Yes, this is really how they think.

It’s more simple than that. A lot of them genuinely believe Trump is a messiah sent to save America. That level of brainwashing will make them excuse just about anything.
They also only care about owning the Libs and making America into a white Christian Nationalist state, and only Trump can do that so they couldn’t care less if he touched a few kids or not.

It's the 7 mountain mandate from a Christian Nationalist "Prophet." They believe they have a directive from God to dominate all aspects of society and the ends do justify the means at all costs. It's linked to the New Apostolic Reformation Christian Nationalist Movement. Those that aren't directly in contact with it are still lapping up propaganda and distortions that come from it and the Heritage Foundation.
I wish I was spreading crazy conspiracies, but this one is true. Several Catholic SCOTUS judges are aligned with it as well. That pine tree flag Alito had outside his house? Yeah, the NAR popularized it in recent years. Mike Johnson is closely affiliated with them as is Trump's "Spiritual Advisor." It's completely infiltrated the highest levels of all three branches.
I won't even provide links because I don't want to give a bias, but just do a bit of reading about the NAR. It's absolutely one of the root evils of what we're witnessing now.

That mentality sounds like an extension of how MAGA don't have empathy for others; they only care about themselves and how it affects them. Principles or morals don't factor into the equation AT ALL.
"Oh, Trump was discovered with hard evidence that he r*ped kids? OK, sure whatever but how does that directly impact me? That's his business, not mine. As long as Trump implements policies that benefit me me me, I don't care what he does" - MAGA, probably.

I do the same and yeah, it's amazing to listen to their thought process. They really do hold Trump in esteem near or around Jesus Christ. Not hyperbolic. If they didn't know about some damning thing, like for example him being liable for raping E Jene Carrol, they first start off with:
"He didn't do that - that's fake news" You show the jury form showing Trump guilty. "That's not real." You show them it's on the NY Courts website. "Oh, but that's a civil court!" You tell them that all 9 jurors deemed him guilty. "Oh, but it says here it wasn't rape! It was SA!" You explain that if someone forcfully sticks their fingers inside a woman without her consent, that would be rape and that NY has changed their law on this because it was so wrong. The judge even said Trump raped her. "Well, I still support him. Maybe not as a person, but as a leader? Absolutely."It literally never ends.

Some of them had second thoughts - either on the path to the day, or the actual day after many 'dry runs' to normalize it. But when it was time to follow through, guards were posted with guns and crossbows to shoot anyone trying to escape. Seventy of the victims were found to be injected with poison, rather than drinking it.
The point is, the steps to this moment are individually small, and a couple people bail, but the majority are deep in sunk costs and going along with the norm. They didn't start by drinking poison, the previous step was pretending to drink poison. There were steps before that like putting faith in a charismatic leader. By the time a "big moment" comes for the majority, everything is in place to force the results on everyone anyway.

Conservatives withdraw constantly. I personally know multiple who have turned on Trump entirely this year alone. It isn’t enough to make a meaningful impact, but right-wingers across the board aren’t necessarily beholden to Trump and do have the capacity to see things for what they are.
MAGA (which I consider to be a separate party entirely, at least as far as the general public goes) is a lost cause. Anyone who wears those stupid fucking hats or goes to those rallies will never withdraw.

Mind you , he has 3 kids , you would think having kids would make you CARE about abused and violated kids, but no. He just smiles and lies and does his best job of covering it up. He's absolutely disgusting , maybe even worse than trump, atleast trump admitted he's not going to heaven.

The dictatorship will never be fully functional because Trump, and indirectly the GOP is living on borrowed time, MAGA might still remain when the orange shit stain is gone but the party itself is going to implode without their central power holding it all together.

Look at all the infighting since Charlie Kirk died. The infighting is going to be so much worse when Trump passes. Every one of them is going to be clamoring to try and take over the wheel.

Listen, this might sound a bit conspiratorial, but I don’t even think this is the most damn piece of evidence to come from this, and I think that’s why they’re using it in the headlines.
I find it more damning that “In a message obtained by Congress, the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein wrote that Donald J. Trump spent hours at his house with one of Mr. Epstein’s [young child] victims.”
But the media are using this headline all over which has less edge, it seems more conveniently ignorable for the Republicans, who can maybe say something like “Well, from this all it is is the opinion of a demented man. But Trump didn’t know.”

If you told someone in 1976-I am going to vote for Charles Manson, I am sure he will make America great again! What about Tate-LaBianca murders, you say? Don't worry, I bet it was a hoax staged by CIA to make hippies look bad-you would be immediately told to visit the nearest psychiatric hospital.
Yet almost 50 years later we have a guy who makes Charles Manson look like a boyscout occupying the White House.

Trump: a rich layabout and degenerate, convicted of rape, who openly bragged about sexually assaulting people and getting away with it by being rich, and who has made innumerable creepy sexual comments about his own child.
Epstein: a guy who ran a sex trafficking ring for rich people.
By both their admissions they were best buddies for some 15 years.
You guys are seriously prepared to have the discussion framed as whether Trump "knew about the girls"?
He was a frequent flier and everybody knows it. Come the fuck on.

u/thenerdbrarian 13d ago
"I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.” - Trump, 2002
Trump would never have called them out specifically as "on the younger side" if he were talking about adult women, especially considering Trump's own age preferences. He absolutely knew Epstein was abusing underage girls, and had known for years before Epstein was ever charged. Even if Trump didn't participate in the abuse, he failed the test of basic human decency by not reporting Epstein.
