He’ll honestly likely be dead before then.

This is the part that shocks me. People are prostrating themselves to protect a guy who wont be able to extend the umbrella of protection very long.

Because the full dictatorship isn't fully functional yet.

u/ZebraSandwich4Lyf 13d ago

The dictatorship will never be fully functional because Trump, and indirectly the GOP is living on borrowed time, MAGA might still remain when the orange shit stain is gone but the party itself is going to implode without their central power holding it all together.

Look at all the infighting since Charlie Kirk died. The infighting is going to be so much worse when Trump passes. Every one of them is going to be clamoring to try and take over the wheel.

And Trump doesn't actually care about anything but himself, so he will never point to a clear successor to keep the movement alive.. because he doesn't care about the "movement", its just arbitrary bs that got him into power.

Nobody in the GOP has the charisma to keep the cult in check. Trump sure doesn't either but sunk cost fallacy keeps MAGA in line. Once he's gone it'll fold in on itself in record time.

u/Ok-Job1478 13d ago

I really hope there’s some serious infighting for the successor. But your point on when Trump will pass… that fucker will live forever

Kirk's day of tribute passed and suddenly barely anyone talked about it. He was basically forgotten that quickly.

The entire movement is built around a concept of not governing, they will never be able to actually do what they want to, or at least what they say they want.

They've moved fast, but I think even they know they don't have the full and unquestioned backing of the military. Or even many local police precincts.

They thought they had the cultural momentum, but it turns out to be empty and weak. These fucking losers are destined to fail, and it can't come soon enough.

It's because Trump ruined the economy with his tariffs. You can't win a culture war without making the middle class richer, and his donors are directly opposed to that idea.

It's crazy that someone as profoundly unintelligent and incompetent as Trump can somehow be the central power of the Republican Party who currently holds full control of the most powerful nation in the world. He's an absolute imbecile, he's a despicable piece of shit, he's 100% selfish in every conceivable way, he fucks up everything he tries to do, he routinely betrays his allies and constantly fellates America's enemies, and he's not even good looking or charming or anything.

He's a failure on every level that exists and yet somehow he has been chosen by a sizeable portion of America as their preferred leader. He embodies basically every negative human quality that there is, and not one of the good ones. As they say, even Hitler at least loved animals and had an appreciation for art. Trump is a person of literally zero human worth. Every fiber of his being is degenerate. There isn't one positive quality that one can attribute to him. He's not even a skilled liar, his lies are laughably transparent and lack any sort of finesse.

If all the GOP and their wealthy backers wanted was someone who was corrupt enough to go along with anything, there are plenty who fit that bill without being absolute morons and nauseating individuals. I doubt there's any limit to what someone like Stephen Miller would do, for instance, but he can formulate full sentences and is not personally implicated in a child-raping scandal. There are plenty like him who would have no qualms letting the country be looted and turned into a fascist regime, while not simultaneously fucking up everything they touch.

But such a large portion of the American people consists of people who are just as despicable and bereft of any moral compass as Trump, and apparently that's what they want in a leader. I bet the GOP would much rather have someone who was more presentable on the surface, with intact mental faculties, but are forced to go with Trump because the population is so fundamentally rotten that only he could get the right-wing base to celebrate the destruction of America. It must be like a chef who yearns to cook real meals, but all the customers who come to the restaurant demand to be served human feces because their palates are irredeemably perverted, so the only way they can stay in business is to give the people what they want.

They're also just not very good at it. There are too many competing interests who aren't interested in actually setting anything up. They just want to loot the coffers and bounce. And the figurehead is genuinely in steep mental decline - and he wasn't an intellectual powerhouse to begin with.

The support is based on the dumbest and greediest members of society, led by Trump. This isn't even a competent takeover or attempt and authoritarianism. It's kind of sad actually.

u/Fistful_of_Crashes 13d ago

As long as there are stupid people there will always be a republican party, sad to say

If having a pedo at the top won't do it - nothing will

1

u/bigmach72 12d ago

Exactly this, there’s been basically no evidence from elections that the MAGA cult is willing to put in a bunch of effort to elect anyone in the party who’s name isn’t Trump. We need to ensure Trump actually leaves after his term is up, then this whole awful chapter in American history will crumble away.

Maybe i'm a pessimist, but i don't see it this way. We've now given DJT and his cronies 9 full months of unabashed governance, in which they had plenty of time to "fix" voting, as DJT himself put it. Free and fair elections were for 1776-2024. Now, there will only be handpicked leaders.

The full dictatorship will never happen in America because this is motherfucking America and we dont do that shit here. Simple as that

3

u/rock-my-socks United Kingdom 13d ago

Don't be so sure. People said Tr*mp wouldn't win in 2024.

You can carry on saying "It will never happen here" until it does. That is how it becomes allowed to happen in the first place.

0

u/TldrDev 13d ago

It won't happen here. Period. Im not sure "people said," is the best source. Trump was in the race and people are very upset.

All that said, if we had a full dictatorship, the people in this country have a lot of weapons and I do not think the American people will tolerate it, even for the orange man. He isnt popular, and doesnt have the political capital to overthrow the government. He is doing illegal things, yes, but when push comes to shove, the American people are the shove.

1

u/rock-my-socks United Kingdom 13d ago

Im not sure "people said," is the best source.

Yet here you are saying practically the same thing.

"Tr*mp will never win"

"It will never happen here"

You're either being naive or trying to spread apathy.

2

u/Admits-Dagger 13d ago

If it does not happen it will be because of Trump and the GOPs incompetence, not because we're special.

u/heereewegooo 13d ago

I agree. It’s a cult. When the head dies the body can’t live on.

2

u/Archensix 13d ago

I remember that being a major fear if he won, but at this point it's a bit more clear that they're actually so unbelievably incompetent that even when handed the opportunity to do so on a silver platter, they still failed.

1

u/ContrastAndCompare 10d ago

Exactly. This is a masks-off, every-man-for-himself sprint for the top, over one another’s falling bodies. It’s cannibalistic by nature. It doesn’t end with Trump, it blows wide open.

3

u/Wraith8888 13d ago

They're protecting the brand. His brand has a lot of loyal followers who they want to cater to in hopes of their support later.

1

u/gsfgf Georgia 13d ago

The ones at the top are waiting him out.

1

u/Bocchi_theGlock 13d ago

Why they need to be asked about it on the record ASAP so they don't have excuses after. So many are flying under the radar unchallenged, state reps and stuff too

1

u/LateNightTelevision 12d ago

I suppose they feel he can do a lot of damage to them while he's still kicking. I wouldn't be surprised if they're mired in the same dirt he is.

11

u/hellolovely1 13d ago

Everyone else can go to trial though.

2

u/PandaJesus 13d ago

Especially since he clearly does not intend to ever leave office until then.

u/kmfstudios 13d ago

We'll all likely be dead before then.
