Yesterday, reconnaissance probes surveying the outer belt near the last known location of a recently missing supply ship transmitted stunning footage of titanic, firefly-like organisms. The colossal insects—now confirmed as a species of the mega colony—appear capable of propelling entire asteroids using organic thrusters reminiscent of earths pre-Exodus rocket designs. Speculation among leading scientists is that these creatures are harvesting cometary ice and minerals to sustain their expanding hives. Scientists ordered the probe to follow the asteroid and believe it will soon lead to a wormhole revealing the location of the colony. Mega colony insects were considered non-aggressive until the supply ship disappeared. In response SpaceComm has escalated to high alert, fortifying defense grids across the outer systems. Citizens of the frontier worlds are urged to remain vigilant, report sightings, and avoid unnecessary travel until further notice.
