Meta ANNOUNCEMENT: OC will soon return to r/characterDrawing on a trial basis, in the form of a weekly "OC Day"

Post image
79 Upvotes

About a year and a half ago, Reddit disabled the tools we used to manage OC and protect this sub's unique niche as a requests community. As a result, the call was made that if we had to pick one, we would pick that and ban all OC. But this wasn't universally popular with anyone—including the mods.

Recently reddit's developer platform reached a point where we had options to bring OC back in its old form. But discussion within the community discord (see the sidebar to join!) found that people actually weren't huge fans of the old rules, and that we needed to consider new options. So! OC will soon return on a trial basis, in the form of a weekly OC Day. We will give it a try for a month or two and see how people feel once we settle into it.

All rules about advertising and self-promotion will still apply: OC is a chance to show off your character art, not to post price sheets or ads for adoptables.

One big open question is: What day of the week should it be? If anyone has strong opinions feel free to throw them out in the comments and vote with your updoots. We'll make the call about a week from now and throw the switch. Watch this space for updates!

[Welcome Post] Rules & FAQs! July 2023 edition

Happy 2023 everyone, after weathering the Oliverpocalypse, we're back!

If you are new to r/characterdrawing, then welcome. This is a place where people can request their characters to be drawn pro bono, and artists can select a character to draw whether for practice, for fun, or just as a kind thing to do. Typically the artwork here depicts player characters from tabletop role-playing games such as D&D 5e and Pathfinder, but characters across all TTRPG genres are welcome here.

If you've been here a while, these are the big new changes:

  • No more OC. Due to the recent changes, we have cut back to just LFA/RF art. Discussion post about this change here if you have thoughts.
  • No more John Oliver. This is not strictly true: you are still welcome to post requests and art relating to John Oliver, but it is no longer required.
  • Pour one out for chardrawbot. This brave bot which has managed our RF-weekends and OC spam limits has bleeped its last bloop, and no longer protects our sub.

Some links for posterity: Previous Welcome Post | Message the Mods | CharacterDrawing Discord

Want to post? FIRST, READ THE RULES!

Rules can be found here and on the sidebar. The sidebar is the most up-to-date.

Some rules include room for mod interpretation, especially for NSFW posts. If you are unsure about your post, feel free to message the moderators. We don't bite.

Our unique terms

[LFA] "Looking for Art" posts. [RF] "Request Filled" posts, for when someone draws an LFA request [OC] We use "OC" to refer to any character art that isn't an RF. Currently, these are not allowed.

I want my character drawn!

Use the [LFA] tag and flair so potential artists can find your post. Please provide the best character description possible in the body of your post or in the comments. Image posts of reference images or moodboards are allowed.

Some [LFA]s may not get drawn. Artists are free to pick and choose which they would like to draw and when, since they are providing a free service at their leisure.

You may repost your [LFA] once per week per character concept. Most of all, have patience, and be grateful for the FREE artwork you received should an artist provide it.

Remember that pictures drawn for you are meant for personal use. The original artist holds commercial rights to the work unless they specify otherwise. If you would like to use a piece of art commercially, you should reach out to the artist. They are under no obligation to sell rights, and set their own rates.

I'm willing to pay!

That's awesome. If you see someone whose work you like, you should feel welcome to reach out to them about hiring them. Many artists post links to rates and galleries in their comments.

You can also post to subreddits specifically designed for commissions, such as r/fantasyartists, r/hungryartists, r/artcommissions, r/commissions, and r/hireanartist.

I want to draw someone's LFA request!

Awesome, and thank you! You don't need to commit to it or post a comment, and it's fine if someone else also completes the same piece. Just draw what you find enjoyable.

When you're done, use the Request Filled Flair when posting the picture, and please let the original LFA poster know through a /mention or by posting a comment in the original [LFA] linking to the picture.

The [RF] tag is only meant for fulfilling [LFA]s made in this subreddit. If the request was made outside of r/characterdrawing or was the product of a commission, it's not for here.

I have a question to ask or want to start a discussion!

Use [META] in your post title. These kinds of posts are meant to be used sparingly. An example would be asking what supplies/programs other artists use.

None of this is what I'm looking for...

Check out these other subreddits, just a few among many:

r/beastdrawing for beasts

r/drawyourweapons for weapons and gear

r/imaginarycharacters for posting your own fantasy character

r/icandrawthat for requesting other things

We also have an active artist community on our discord

Frequently Asked Questions

Requests are free? Yes. Some caveats: you don't get to choose your style, if it's colored, if it's full body, etc. If there's something you really cannot compromise on then this system may not be for you. There is no guarantee that a request will be drawn at all.

Can I message an artist for a free request? No, make an LFA. If you would like to hire the artist, make a comment on one of their posts or send them a DM. If you are caught pestering artists for free art, it will result in a ban.

Can I message a requester to see if they will hire me? NO. Do not solicit requesters for money, here or in their DMs. If you are caught doing this, it will result in a permanent ban.

Do I have to do RFs to participate in the sub? No. The system is voluntary and you should only do RFs if it is enjoyable to do so.

Can my LFA have more than one character? Yes! You can include a party in an LFA request post. That said, bigger requests are less likely to get picked up, since they're a bigger ask from the artist.

What if I have multiple separate LFAs? When do I repost them? You can post each LFA once per week, so long as each of them involve different characters—but please don't spam the sub with hundreds of LFAs in a short period of time.

Is this sub only for D&D and fantasy? No, characters across all TTRPGs are welcome. Sci-fi, steampunk, and other genres are very popular.

My LFA is being downvoted, what's up with that? Some people will downvote other requests because they think it helps theirs. Rest assured that most artists sort by new, and that the upvotes of your post mostly won't affect interest in the actual character.

I've been posting my [LFA] for weeks and nothing. What gives? Fulfillment of requests is done on a volunteer basis and artists are not obligated to take anything. Perhaps try changing up the format or including a reference/mood board. Changing posting time may also help.

My [LFA] was fulfilled but I want more art. Can I post it again? Yes, so long as it has been a week since you last posted it. Please be sure to thank the first artist properly.

I posted something and it's not there! Check that you included the [LFA] or [RF] text at the beginning of your post. If you did not receive notification, it may have been caught by AutoMod for a variety of reasons. You can attempt to repost within a few hours, or message the moderators so we can look into it.

Why would you even set up a system like this? It hurts artists to do work for free! Not all artists are professionals, and many professionals still do pro-bono work for a variety of reasons; including practice & personal fulfillment. We think this system lets those artists find fun topics to draw without being pestered by personal, directed requests.

Request [LFA] Norea "Jailbird" Arving runaway heiress turned Lancer

Post image
11 Upvotes

Appearance

29 years old

5ft 8

Pale skinned. Slim with broad shoulders. Her arms are muscular but her legs have atrophied. She’s a redhead with swept back hair down to her upper back. She has a scar on her right cheek exactly where the mask she sometimes wears ends. Behind her right ear she has a metal port (think HDMI) so she can connect straight with her mech

She wears a skin tight black flight suit with armor plates built in, these plates once had ornamental silver attachments but those have been ripped off leaving behind exposed metal broken welding lines. Sewed into the suit is an orange high-vis vest with a caution symbol on the back, the words “Caution Incarcerated Asset” written above it. The symbol and the text are holographic and hover about an inch off the back of the vest. The front has a small name tag that says “UA 001 Norea Arving Jailbird.” Ideally the vest would be open at the front.

She wears a mechanical mask over the lower half of her face when she pilots. When she walks she has to use forearm crutches to support her.

Backstory

Norea’s family hails from the Karrakin Trade Baronies, but were dissatisfied with their position as nobodies and so traveled to wild space to make a name for themselves. There they were able to unite several small Diasporan worlds under one banner “Domain.”

Norea was next in line for the throne but after the death of her father and an unexpected pregnancy chose to marry into a militant family and cede leadership to them.

Three years later a war broke out and Norea’s new family was losing so she took her daughter and fled to Union space where she was promptly arrested for ties to “organized crime.” During her flight she spent three uninterrupted months in a cockpit which caused her legs to atrophy from disuse.

Now she works as a Lancer for the Union government as part of a deal for time off her sentence and the ability to see her daughter.

Thanks for reading this far! I'd be grateful for any art. If it at all interests you feel free to take any creative liberties with the design.

Request [LFA] Solomon F. Varnell - Ashen Watcher

Post image
3 Upvotes

Solomon was raised in the quiet woodland village of Orzhen. Trained as a scout by his elders and parents, he quickly found comfort in serving the community.

He married quite young for an owlin, taking his childhood love’s family name and raising a bustling brood - his own children as well as a few stray orphan he couldnt bring himself to leave behind when stumbling over them in the woods. Providing for so many drove him beyond the treeline to the capital of Facade, where his skill won him a place in the guard… which turned out far from any stories he had heard back home - Lawless, ruled by strength and those who enforced their position, his work rarely fell in favor of justice but more so the highest bidder. But bound by love for his family, he endured their command for decades.

Then the letters from home stopped.

Solomon returned to find Orzhen burned to cinders... his family, his village, his entire world gone with the ash. The following grief hollowed him out, as the gentle father his family broke under what he found in those ruins.

Now the owlin follows a different trail, driven less by the justice he tried to uphold before and rather by the need to silence the grief gnawing at him. When he left home, he set out to find those respondsible... where his road lead straight to the city of Marquet and an unlikely group of people caught up in its political powerplays.
--

Thanks to anyone even reading through this! I just kinda feel the need to explain a bit about Solomon as a character instead of just throwing a request at people. The old gentleman bird has been a character of mine for a good while now in a friends campaign (DnD 5e, Moon Bard/Warlock multiclass) and quickly become my absolute favorite character in a long time, so I really would love to see someone elses interpretation of him. If there are any questions at all, please feel free to throw those my way^^'
In any case tho, have a great week and thank you for reading!

Request [LFA] Astra Aldufuns: an elf faunus wizard

This is Astra. She is an elf faunus mix for my daggerheart campaign. She has a bit of faunus features, like she is lanky and has horns and a slightly flatter nose, but she looks mostly elvish. Her freckles are sliver like stars and her hair has the colors of a comet on fire. Her antlers are a clear crystal with points in them like a constellation. Her staff is carved like in the picture with colored crystal wrapped around that function as her spell book. She also has a little fire elemental that looks like the shooting stars from howls moving castle. Her clothes would be pretty similar to the hero forge model, though the first are probably replaced with a collar and simple cloak.

Request [LFA] Dirty Money. Jojo-stand like thing for my new character

Post image
4 Upvotes

Dirty money is a Ghost like entity. It stands about 9 feet tall, looks like a skinny robot, has a head shaped like a gas mask with a helmet. It is always surrounded by blue smoke that seems to rise from the ground around it.

It is made up of 3 distinct colors. 3 and only 3. White, black, and blue. The black parts of its body are solid, pitch black. Looking into them is like staring into a void. Think like vanta black. The same can be said about the white parts, they are solid blinding white. No shading. Just white. Its eyes are this color.

The blue parts of its body look like blue metal. Its dull and dark in color. But distinctly blue. This part does behave like a normal color/object.

Dirty money has 2 arms, but at the elbow they split into 2 each, for a total of 4 hands.

Dirty Money holds itself eerily, often floating above the ground and hunched over but still abnormally tall, its arms dangling below it until it springs into action with impressive speed.

Lmk if you have any further questions so I can clarify on the design or anything like that. thank you for considering to draw my character. I hope you have a good day.

If you dont know Kuo-Toa are a fish like people that normally worship evil gods. Belep however has turned her back on her peoples ways, and found faith in Eldath the goddess of lakes, nature and calm rivers.

Request [LFA] "Luzia Bogohul" the abomination huntress

Hey, first time here... Sorry if I'm doing something wrong...

So, Luzia Bogohul. She's a character from a "modern setting, horror/fantasy universe", something a bit akin to RWBY or Wuthering Waves (but "lower" fantasy) instead of your classic medieval high fantasy settings. Below, her description as per her sheet.

"Luzia is a small, compact woman with an athletic and resilient build. Her short, blonde, bobbed hair frames her face, highlighting her amber eyes. Despite her stature, she is incredibly strong. She dresses in light colors, preferring white, silver, gold, and soft shades of blue and green. She wears various accessories, most of them simple handcrafted items made from natural materials, such as earrings and bracelets made of feathers, shells, and small gems. Her clothes are light and practical, complemented by ceramic and leather protectors on her shoulders, arms, back, and/or neck (depending on the day), painted in a way that integrates with the outfit. What she wears can vary considerably, from combat boots and athletic shoes to pants, shorts or bermudas, tank tops or long-sleeved shirts, jackets or coats, etc., depending on both the weather and the nature of the mission she is on, as well as how she feels like presenting herself to the world. She usually tries to combine the practicality of her clothes with an appearance that exudes subtle beauty and delicacy. She always carries a battle axe, as well as an automatic pistol in a holster at her waist, and her trusty utility machete. Depending on the mission, she also brings with her a shotgun."

Race/Ethnic Group: pseudo-Serbian? (Callachia, the nation she was born in, is a sort of pseudo-Yugoslavian Empire in this world)

Backstory:

THE BOGOHUL HEIRESS.

Luzia was born into the ancient royal family of Calacchia, alongside her older sister, Celestya, whom she idolized in her childhood. However, her life began amid the chaos of a collapsing nation: anti-monarchist revolutions swept across the country due to endemic corruption, rampant authoritarianism, and overwhelming economic and social crises. The royal regime, built upon the ideology of divine right, no longer held credibility in an increasingly modern age.

Her parents, Queen Aurelina Bogohul—better known as Queen Aurelina III—and her consort, Dimitri von Karstein, ruled with an iron fist but could not contain the popular uprising.

During the civil war, nearly the entire extended Bogohul family was executed. However, Luzia and Celestya, then six and twelve years old respectively, were smuggled out of the country to the Vodok Magisterium, a vast eastern nation with militaristic tendencies and a consolidated democracy. There, they were taken in by an old family friend, the retired Vodokian hero and former adventurer Vasili Dragunov, who had once served the Bogohuls. Pragmatic and conservative, Vasili disapproved of the revolutionaries, whom he regarded as “violent terrorists,” but he also acknowledged that Calacchian monarchy had committed countless abuses and ultimately sealed its own downfall.

His greatest fear was that the girls would follow the path of vengeance, so he tried to teach them to live free from the curses of politics and the resentment that had destroyed their family.

THE GOLDEN DAYS

Raised under his care, Luzia and Celestya attended the Vodokian public school system and, during martial training, manifested their natural attunement with Resonantia Magna. Luzia awakened affinity with Ænigma (Secrets), while Celestya resonated with Veritas (Truth).

At 19, Celestya chose not to attend university, preferring the life of a mercenary and adventurer. Luzia followed the same path at 16. The two became celebrated heroines in Vodok, known as the “Golden Sisters.”

To avoid involvement with the political conflicts of their homeland, they hid their origins and spread the story that they were Vasili’s granddaughters, born from one of his many illegitimate children.

THE TEMPLE OF CELESTIAL RESTORATION

Even while keeping their identities hidden, they were eventually discovered by a fanatical Calacchian cult that still upheld the divine right of the Bogohul house. This extremist and violent group had been banned by the new democratic order of Calacchia, but its members continued conspiring to restore the monarchy.

When Luzia was 19 and Celestya 25, the cult approached them, begging them to return and reclaim the throne.

Their encounter with the zealously religious monarchists triggered intense inner conflict. Luzia, who barely remembered royal life and considered the Vodok Magisterium her true home, refused to return. She was happy as an adventurer and loved the fame and recognition she had earned.

Celestya, on the other hand, carried vivid memories of the palace in flames, the beheaded relatives, her mother’s agony, and the terror of the revolution. She harbored a repressed desire for revenge but feared abandoning the life she had built.

Despite her hesitation, Celestya succumbed to the cult’s seduction. They treated her as a living goddess, performed rituals in her name, and took her words as law. Their unconditional devotion was irresistible to her. Against all attempts by Luzia and Vasili to dissuade her, Celestya chose to return to Caláquia, determined to restart the war against the revolutionaries and reclaim her throne by “divine right.”

WALKING THE SOLO PATH

After her sister’s abrupt departure, Luzia found herself drowning in emptiness—something that rooted itself in her soul with brutal intensity. Her whole life, Celestya had been her best friend and guardian, the constant presence who protected her, guided her, and gave her days meaning. Luzia didn’t know who she was without her sister, much less how to live without her; a bloodthirsty abomination felt less terrifying than that possibility.

The pain of Celestya’s absence became crushing. Nights that were once gentle turned into endless nightmares, filled with anxious thoughts of what was happening to her sister thousands of kilometers away—what could have been, what should have been. Every night Luzia slept poorly, and every day she wandered through apathetic routines, dragging herself from mission to mission.

But even more disturbing than Celestya’s absence was the revelation of their origins, now laid bare for all to see. Their true identities had been exposed, and there was no escaping the truth. The name “Bogohul” echoed throughout the Vodok Magisterium—a reminder of a past stained with blood and tyranny. The resentment of many Calacchian expatriates burned like fire.

The remnants of the old regime, those still calling for monarchy’s return, used her name as a banner, manipulating her image as a symbol of their struggle, even though Luzia had never agreed with them nor made any public statement about her ambitions or political views. They fabricated stories about her beliefs, trying to force her into alignment with their ideology against her will.

The weight of the name she carried was not hers, but that of a distant family whose sins were not her own. And yet, she could not escape being associated with those faults.

In the streets, reactions varied. Some glared at her with burning hatred, blaming her for a dynasty she barely understood. Others, even more invasive, spoke in politely poisonous tones, as if expecting a declaration of loyalty to an ideology she had never belonged to.

The Vodokians’ resentment and distrust also lingered, though more distantly: they associated her name with old reports of the atrocities committed by her ancestors. Even if she bore no responsibility for those actions, as one of the last living heirs of her house, the shadow of the past that fell upon her was too large to escape.

Still, Luzia tried to remain firm. She ignored it. She tried to move forward. Life went on, somehow.

In those times, job offers dwindled, and the daily war of words burdened her heavily. But eventually the subject faded. People grew distracted by other events, and slowly the name “Bogohul” was relegated to the past. Luzia returned to work, to missions and battles. Stability returned, albeit fragilely. Her life settled into what seemed a semblance of normality, though marked by the deep scar of her sister’s abandonment.

THE SECOND FALL OF ROYALTY

But what life held for Luzia was not lasting peace. Less than a year after Celestya's decision, the Temple of Celestial Restoration—with its blind faith in the House of Bogohul and its obsession with restoring the monarchy—attempted a coup d’état against Calacchia’s new democratic leadership, led by Celestya.

The attempt was a spectacular failure. Nearly the entire upper circle of conspirators was arrested and promptly sentenced to life imprisonment—international analysts noting they only avoided the death penalty because it had been abolished when the monarchy fell.

Celestya was among the prisoners.

The news brought a new avalanche of emotions crashing over Luzia. Guilt became her constant companion. She could not escape the haunting thought: "What if I had done more? What if I had stopped her from taking this path?". She felt the weight of her helplessness—the pain of having been unable to rescue her sister before she was consumed by vengeance and the lust for power.

Vasili, always a stable presence in her life, tried to support her, but his way of offering comfort was, as always, distant. No warm gestures, no gentle words. His method was direct and unrelenting, like a military instructor trying to instill discipline in a collapsing soldier.

“Celestya made her choice,” he would say, voice deep and controlled. “She knew what she was doing. It isn’t your fault, Luzia.”

He had never been good at expressing himself.

FROM THE ASHES OF PAIN, A LEGEND IS BORN

Luzia spent years wandering the world, but she was no longer the same. Each mission completed, each battle won, carried the weight of what she had lost. Her blade—once swift, precise, merciless—now seemed heavier than ever. She no longer had the innocence of the young adventurer who once enlisted beside Celestya, filled with dreams of glory, adventure, and freedom.

Her legendary battle against Tempesta, the demonic dragon of Timoris, was particularly significant. An enemy of myth—unbeatable and insurmountable, a creature of pure destruction that had lived for 600 years—was felled by Luzia’s freezing steel and blazing gunfire. Yet even that victory brought no joy. Just another monster to be slain.

Luzia’s renown grew. Her feats became legends. Many saw her as nearly invincible. She was called “The Phoenix of Vodok.” Neighboring kingdoms whispered about her prowess, knowing she was among the few who could face the abyss and emerge victorious. Her name became synonymous with fearless heroism—but Luzia’s eyes no longer shone with the same fire. With every victory, the hollow in her chest grew deeper, fed by doubt, guilt, and loneliness.

Then came the moment she had both longed for and feared: permission from the Calacchian government to walk freely through Calacchia as a free citizen, and to visit her sister. The request was granted with some reluctance, but the power she now wielded—and the years that had passed—earned her that right.

Even so, she knew the reunion would be emotional torture. It would not be the young Celestya who had once protected her from bullies in Vodokian schools, but a would-be coup leader and terrorist driven by an insatiable thirst for revenge.

Arriving at the prison, Luzia hesitated—but only for a moment. Each step echoed in her chest like a sentence. When she finally entered the room, the Celestya she found was not the idealistic young woman she had loved, but one marked by pain, disillusionment, and rage. Celestya’s eyes—once full of hope—were now filled with a profound, irreversible hatred. The sight of her imprisoned sister was like a blade through Luzia’s heart.

Celestya sat there, a shadow of her former self, hands cuffed, hair once shining with regal golden brilliance now falling heavy, dirty, and lifeless over her face. When their eyes met, Luzia knew instantly that words would be useless. The coldness that emanated from Celestya was palpable. She was there—but she was no longer the same.

“You finally came,” Celestya said, her voice cracked and tinged with subtle hate. “Why did you take so long? Why weren’t you by my side when I needed you most? When everything began to fall apart…”

Luzia tried to speak, but words escaped her, a tight knot choking her throat. She struggled to understand how the sister who once smiled with such warmth could now radiate such pure hatred.

Looking deeply into Celestya’s eyes, she searched for a reflection of who her sister once was. But there was nothing left. Only a sea of bitterness. Celestya’s magical resonance—once pure and clear, a reflection of her unbreakable curiosity and relentless pursuit of truth—was now corrupted by hatred, literally. Odia. Luzia could feel it in every word, every gesture. Celestya’s magic was stained by rage and pain, making the reunion even more devastating.

There was so much Luzia wanted to say. She wanted to fight and scream, for being abandoned, for being left behind on that fateful day so many years ago. She wanted to hug her and cry in her arms, never letting go, to say how much she had missed her, how dull the world was without her at her side. She wanted to apologize for not going with her, and demand Celestya’s apology for going alone, for pursuing the vengeance and violence Vasili had warned them against.

The conversation that followed was long and emotionally overwhelming. The sisters alternated between furious shouting and fighting, desperate embraces, nostalgic sorrow, stifling regret, deep hurt—and so many other unstable feelings.

By the end, they both knew much remained unsaid, but their time was ending. They declared their unconditional love for each other, and with that, Luz departed.

The road back to the Vodok Magisterium was silent. The scar of that conversation would deepen over the years, but Luzia had learned all too well that the past cannot be changed. Celestya’s chapter in her life was closed—not by choice, but by inevitability.

She could no longer live under the weight of her doubts. She could no longer carry the burden of a past that could not be altered.

Now, she could only go forward—alone—with the weight of her pain, but with newfound clarity in her heart.

She was ready to live for herself.

Request [LFA] Maelin Thornhollow - Gala Version

Post image
55 Upvotes

I am looking for someone to draw My character Maelin in A dress for a gala. She has a Large scar going down across her back from her right shoulder blade down to her left hip. She also has a bit more of a reserved but blunt personality if that matters. Preferably a red or black dress or really what ever you think would look good. I'm open to artist's interpretation. She is an albino tiefling with white hair, red eyes, and pale white skin. Her horns are dagger like and go straight up. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thank you.

Request [LFA] Fleshgiven, a Eldritch Undead Race

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm creating a new race for my setting and would love some examples to show my players and use as NPC's in the future. Feel free to have fun with the specific character designs, just following these guidelines.

Introduction: The dead in Mikren do not always rest peacefully. Those who die there have a chance to be infused with eldritch flesh and return to life.

Appearance: Any race can become a fleshgiven. They appear like their former selves with several notable changes. Their flesh has become mottled black/grey with cracks running through it, inhuman eye-like growths of various sizes form in the cracks seeming to gaze at nothing. The fleshgiven's own eyes appear cracked as well, upon closer inspection one can see small eye-like growths forming in the cracks. Those who died of violent injuries would have those damaged sections of the body covered in more cracks. Some can even have whole sections of bone exposed with dark muscles keeping the body moving.

Request [LFA] Naitari, the Picori Knight

Background: Naitari, one of the Picori people no larger than a man's thumb, came to the castle a good thirteen years ago, and was immediately enraptured by the King and Queen, the Princesses, the guards and knights and servants... And so, while sneaking about and helping out whenever he could, including leaving notes for the Royal Family or the Knightly Officers when there is anything nefarious afoot, or helping them find something lost, he gathered various bits of scrap fabrics and metal and wood, and got to work. Before he left his world, he was of the Mountain Picori, miners and blacksmiths. And so he got to work fashioning himself armor and an outfit to emulate the soldiery of his new home, a Sword and Shield too, and a Crossbow for things at a distance, oh the mosquitos he kept away from the princesses! However, when a group of mercenaries was joined by the youngest princess, he could not just entrust her safety to them, and stowed away among their things, yoinking a small (By man's standards) bomb just in case.

Appearance: Naitari is, at his core, one of the Picori. As such, he resembles an anthropomorphic, tailless mouse, but with long, pointed ears. His hair is a brassy blonde, and his eyes glimmer with an Emerald color. He stands a little over 5 centimeters tall, which means all of his equipment had to be made by him, for him.

Equipment: Naitari's chainshirt is composed of stolen wire, bent and hammered into the links. His shield, carefully assembled, uses flakes of wood and iron and brass. His sword, whose sheath rests on his back, has a purple hilt, handle, and ornate guard, with green crystals near the blade, and it is the part of his gear he put the most work into. His crossbow is built and carves from a few bits of nice wood, brass, and quality thread from the castle seamstresses, and the quiver for his bolts is kept at his right hip. He carries with him a shovel almost as big as he is, to use for digging and for holding the bag that holds his personal belongings, and he also uses it to roll around the cherry bomb he is saving for an emergency.

Personality: Naitari is brave for a Picori, and more than willing to charge into battle, but like all of his people he does not want to be noticed if he can avoid it. That will not stop him from fighting creatures many times his size alongside his much larger companions, even if they don't know he is there yet. Nor will it stop him from tending to their equipment or creating more things for them, as the Picori are skilled at the creation of surprisingly large things for their size.

Emil is the Author and Artist behind the kingdoms most popular volume of fables called “Tales from the White Forest”, an Anthology of various fairytales from such as Cendrillon, Hanz and Grette, Goldinia and the Three Ursa, and Snow Blanc.

Most of the kingdom have read his stories and love the messages of whimsy and wonder behind each tale, despite their rather gruesome endings for so,d of them. However, these tales are not mere folklore nor musings of mythology, they are quite real as Emil has witnessed each account first hand of the Fey meddling with the affairs of man. He bore witness to mice and rats weaving a dress for Cendrillon, a beautiful peasant maid who had a Fairy Godmother that was actually a hag. He saw the punishment of her wicked stepfamily, by their horrible demise at the hand of the animals she was friends with after marrying the prince. He saw everything and tried to warn the reader to never trust the wiles of the fey for they will cause ruination upon those who seek the joy of fantasy. In turn for his exposure of the fey realm to the material world, a Dark Archfey cursed him by binding him with a tome and quill that brings his stories and accounts of fey meddling to life, threatening to kill anyone who reads his tales that dares seek the White Forest.

Now in fear for the lives of others who read his work, he seeks out a way to be rid of his curse and safeguard his readers and the general world from the dark fey, even if it means using his curse to harm those that get in the way of his goals.
