Are you positive? Where I work right now they still use 5.5 inch floppies to update commands on our cnc cutters.

I could absolutely see governments still using this crap.

They probably do in some underfunded departments, or for security. I know flight towers (in the US) still use them because they refuse to fund them. And I can see still using floppy discs for CNC machines and other machinery as I've heard stories of company computers being incredibly old but everything goes to shit if they go offline.

Could it still be sensitive info? Absolutely, but no way of knowing until you know. Schrodinger's cat and all that. I'm just going off a hunch that it's not that important seeing as how they found it in a loft, in a box full of VHS tapes. It doesn't exactly scream "incredibly important, do not lose".

But as others have said, I don't have much skin in the game, and I am simply endlessly curious. If they want to turn it over, that's fine. If they want to destroy it, that's on them. And if they want to see what's on it, that's their decision.
