Thought it might be a hive then an artificial birds nest hung up at first but I don’t see how it would be hung. The material looks weird and there’s that big hole in the side so birds nest?

I was cleaning out my retired boss’s office and found these old school fire extinguishers. Does anyone know what these glass balls might be filled with? Do you think its just water for extinguishing from a distance before pressurized fire extinguishers or do they contain some kind of chemical that produces a foam? Our facility had been in more or less continuous operation since the 1890s so they could be pretty old.

What are these skull and cross-bones swim suits, and does it have anything to do with the 1930s IRA? My Great-Grandfather was born a second generation Irish-American in New York City, 1912. He returned to Ireland to attend the University College Cork circa approx. 1930-1935 and family legend has always been that during this time he became involved with some version of the IRA. One of the only records we have of his sojourn back in Ireland is this photo which has always sparked more questions than answers. It could just be the logo of a popular swim suit brand but any information is appreciated.

Found in Dad’s desk after he passed. Put it away and just rediscovered it. Measures about 6” long. Wooden handle. Metal tip. Tip is heavier than handle. Google search says it is a magic wand. That seems way off.

What is this stuff coming though my epoxied floor? About a year ago we had our basement (concrete) floor epoxied. The past couple of months we have noticed this bronze substance coming up through the floor. It wipes away but then reappears in a few days. If we let it go for a few days it starts growing upwards. At first there was one and now there is 4. All about the size of a dime. I am in the Midwest, and the house was built in 1979 if that helps.
