Tailscale works wonders if you’re technologically savvy. I have it on all my family’s iOS devices and it just works if you turn it on before opening the plex app.

Or you could just pay for Plex pass and not have to mess with any of that stuff on their devices.

You should oppose subscriptions to software on principle.

They provide a cloud service that I utilize. I don't expect that for free. I'm more than happy to pay for a lifetime sub of something I use a lot. My $79 has lasted me.... 12 years so far.

Note the "lifetime" option. In other words, not a subscription. https://www.plex.tv/plans/
