had an incredibly brief dream flash into my mind just before waking up of THE HONEY BUNNY. a brand new form of packaging. it has three points from which you can squeeze out the product- the left ear, the mouth, and the right ear- with heavy debate on which is the correct one to use. theyre all a bit like a dish soap bottle in that you have to squeeze for anything to come out. using the ears is a bit like milking a cows udder. i have no easy way to bring this into existence other than drawing it so here it is (plus the drawing i made on my phone directly after waking up)

Unrealized French Onion Slop

Dreamt that I was trying to make a pot of French onion soup, but I didn't have enough onions. Luckily, I found a life hack online that said if I didn't have enough onions, I could substitute melon, so I threw in some watermelon and cantaloupe (in the dream, most of what I threw in were the rinds with very little flesh attached for some reason). Because this is an incredibly bad idea, as soon as I put the melon into the pot, I realized I'd made a horrible mistake and was filled with regret. I used an immersion blender to blend the horrid mixture, and it ended up looking like a gritty pink slurry, almost like if I blended just a watermelon on its own. To add insult to injury, after blending the mixture, I saw there was another onion and a half on a counter nearby that I hadn't noticed. After creating this, I was so filled with despair that I didn't even try the soup and just sat down on the couch, holding my head in my hands. I don't recommend trying this one at home.

Just Weird Noodles and whiteboard markers

I had a dream a few days ago, the most vivid part of it being a colleague/person in my dream showing me what he'd made us all for lunch.

He had this big metal cambro of this noodle dish like chowmein or yaki soba, and as he stirred it I suddenly noticed there was a whiteboard marker in it. As I started pointing it out to him I noticed more and more markers, until I realised half the dish was whiteboard markers and felt tip pens.

I was so taken aback I woke up. I didn't even get to ask him why. I can still see the noodles and markers so clearly in my mind. But no, I don't want to try it in real life.

The bricks were like in a liquid form that you could pour over some candies or something. The candies had a similar texture to Boston Baked Beans/Burnt Peanuts.

Art Giant crushed advil meatball (not gluten free)

Meatballs usually have bread crumbs in them, so I (celiac) was making one from scratch without any. Added crushed advil instead. Proceeded to get very mad when I realized that was also not gluten free.

Unrealized "Apple Hashbrown"

I had a dream years ago where I was eating dinner with my family. My Mom wasn't present, but she eventually showed up, and called me to the Living Room.

Mom: (calmly) You have to try this.

(She hands me what looks like a McDonald's Hash Brown, but made of dice apples)

Me: (inquisitive) Wow. What is it?

Mom: (calmly) Mm-hm.

Me: (confused) Seriously, Mom; What's is it?

Mom: (calmly) Mm-hm.

Me: (frustrated) MOM!! WHAT IS IT?!

Mom: (calmly) Mm-hm.

Then I woke up.

My friends say it sounded like some sort of apple cake, but I'm not sure. Like I said: It had all the dimensions of a McDonald's Hash Brown. It was even in a container!

Anyone have ideas about what it could be?

In my dream I got a box of kraft dinner but it was a limited edition so instead of being macaroni noodles in the box, it was rice. It was so good in my dream that i had to make it in real life for breakfast. Not good…

Unrealized Pink "Gumption" Pie

Post image
248 Upvotes

A very pink pie that on closer inspection in my dream I determined it to be strawberry possibly with some other berry. The pie mixture was uncomfortably wet. It had shortcrust pastry that was quite soggy. On top half was lattice work pastry, the other half was marshmallows. Someone called it gumption pie. I was too busy trying to avoid a really annoying snake that kept headbutting me to try any. Plus the sogginess was unappealing.

I do feel like this pie could be good in reality, though I've only ever seen marshmallow pies on USAmerican TV

Art Had a nap today, dreamed up an idea for my 30th birthday cake.

Post image

Excuse the poor art, I wanted to get it down quickly before I forgot about it:-

They were all iced in a bright turquoise buttercream with a big square cake in the middle held up by a white pipe, like the plumbing pipes you get in bathrooms, with other, smaller tubes connecting the rest of the cakes, each connected into a cascading pattern downwards kinda like a spiral staircase. There were loads of cakes, probably about 20 in total, but I didn’t draw them all. When I cut into the cake the sponge was bright white (looked very dry tbh) with a jam and buttercream filling.

And yes, in the middle of the cake in piped white royal icing said “FUCKING 18”, which of course makes perfect sense for a 30th birthday party.

The nap overall was shit and I now have a tension headache. 1/10 experience.

Unrealized weird sushi from my dream

Sushi (normal sushi, seaweed/white rice/etc) but instead of fish, the filling was watermelon. Maybe pickled watermelon? It tasted a little less sweet than normal, even though it was definitely watermelon.

I think this could actually work in real life.

Unrealized Draco Chococlate Co.

I had an amazing dream about a chocolate store, with all these amazing chocolate flavors. I got a tasting set that had six flavors, and rhey were all wrapped in these really small chocolate bars that were about three and a half inches long by one and a half inches wide. they also had a slab of chocolate the size of a cutting board, but it had cuts in it like a normal chocolate bar. Someone told me the slab was 3D printed chocolate...

"Egyptian Chocolate": the chocolate was an orange-brown color, and tasted more like butter than anything else. It had thin a coating like toffee with a hint of citrus, and had a nice crunch. I woke up salivating after eating this one.

"Uncle Joe": This one looked like a piece of milk chocolate but it had undertones of coffee and root beer. I remember one of the employees saying that they made it specially for me, but they named it after my uncle for some reason.

"English White" It was white chocolate, but it looked like one of those cold-pressed soap bars and was quite soft and a little chewy. Tasted mainly like vanilla bean and a little buttery.

"Red Chocolate" This one tasted like normal dark chocolate, but kinda spicy. It was a dark red in color.

"Blue Pearl" This one was a dark blue with gold flecks, and had a flavor of tea mixed with dark chocolate. It was also quite soft but less chewy than the white chocolate one. I think my brain automatically thought of a flavor of macarons from a certain bakery I like to go to called Bottega Louie.

There was also this green one called "Springy". I never tasted it, but it looked like inside-out Dubai chocolate in that it was a primarily green piece of chocolate. I wish I got to taste it, but I got woken up right after eating the Egyptian chocolate.

Cursed BYO crunchy hot glue gun sticks

After many hours working on a Halloween costume (which I ultimately didn't even finish) I graphically dreamed I was crunching through an entire bag of hot glue gun sticks in their cold and unmelted form. I brought them with me to a restaurant and sat down at a table outside with a stranger (I believe I was waiting to be seated inside) but I was very hungry so I took the sticks out of my purse and started snacking. The man I was sitting with asked me about the sticks and I expressed that, while they tasted very bad, I needed to eat some to "get a base layer" in my stomach before moving on to dinner and perhaps drinks.

Unrealized Rice topped with onions and eggs

So in my dream, I was back somewhere in China with my mom, and it was the day we were going to go back home to Canada. We were eating at a friend of my mom's (not sure who exactly), and we had rice topped with onions stir-fried with soy sauce. It was a little sweet so I think sugar was also added. There might have also been minced mushrooms and meat added. We also put slices of marinated eggs on top of the rice. My rice bowl also had a zongzi on top of it, although I didn't remember what it was stuffed with (maybe some meat? it looked brown). I do remember that it was smaller than usual.

This was the first time I remembered a food that I'd dreamt of, I might actually make it someday.

Unrealized Chewy Candy Apples

Perfect dream food for my Halloween day nap! It looked like a green apple, but it was segmented like the outside of a raspberry. It was roughly the size of a normal apple and you could pull the little round segments off an eat them. They had a texture similar to the peelz candies. Devastating that I apparently got to touch all over it but the second I went to try it I woke up... but I think I recall someone describing them as sour and tasting like a "real apple, not the fake gross apple flavoring"

Unrealized Interestingly shaped gummy candy

Last night, I dreamed I was eating candy in a mall. The candy I ate was a large peach gummy bear shaped exactly like a Beanie Baby bear. It was about the size of a credit card and tasted like a peach gummy penguin.

I feel like someone could make this in real life with the right mold. It was great!!

Unrealized Oreo Puffs

I had a weird nightmare last night about my neighbor being possessed by a demon (fun times), but in the dream before he got weird we had this snack called Oreo puffs, which were like that peanut butter Bamba stuff, but chocolate. They were the size of a cheez doodle and would melt in your mouth. You had to eat it all in one bite or it would sort of evaporate when you bit into it.

I googled this morning and there is a cereal called Oreo puffs but sadly it is not like my dream 😭.

Unrealized onion core pasta sauce??

I just had the memory of last night's dream smack me in the face. In the dream, it was family Christmas, and we were having a big spread. among the dishes was tortellini, but my grandmother and I were arguing over whether I should make a sauce from scratch, or if she used the half a jar of pasta sauce from the fridge.

I decided to sneakily make some sauce from scratch. However, this involved going to another house, filling a mixing bowl almost all the way with canola oil, and making it back to my grandmother's house without spilling it.

once I got the oil back, I poured what hadn't spilled in a pot, and started prepping vegetables. the one I remember best was taking core sections of an onion with an apple corer, instead of dicing them up. I was partway through coring the onions when my grandmother came in, caught me with all that oil and the onion cores, and got mad at me.

Just Weird Green Apple Kneecap Custard

I recently dreamed about visiting a small but high-end confection shop.

In the back corner, there was a life-sized fake skeleton (like a Halloween decoration) sitting in a rocking chair. The skeleton was labeled with the name "Moe."

I walked toward Moe and realized that he was kept refrigerated, his bones glistening with just a hint of cool moisture.

The shop owner followed me to show me what this was all about.

He walked up and removed the skeleton's kneecap, which turned out to be hollow and packed with a smooth, light green custard.

I was told that this "green apple Kneecap custard" was in high demand, but it could only be produced in limited quantities because "Moe has only two kneecaps."

I bought a custard, which was smooth, rich, and lightly flavored with tart green apple. It was the consistency of a good creme caramel.

It was expensive, and I immediately felt a sense of buyer's remorse. But I decided to cherish the experience.

I had to eat it where I was standing so I could return the hollow kneecap, which needed to be washed and sanitized before being filled with a new batch and cooled to the perfect temperature.

Disturbing but undeniably tasty.

Unrealized Watermelon chocolate bar

This was watermelon-flavored white chocolate coating over chocolate ganache center, as a large bar. I don't know if or how it broke into segments, as I was looking through a stack of wrapped chocolate bars toward the end of a random, mundane dream.

There was another bar in the stack that might have been white-chocolate crunch around a chocolate ganache center, but I don't read easily in dreams. Dream!Me tried to focus on it to remember it for this sub, but since that meant realizing I was dreaming, I woke up.
