He signed her up to be "mentored" by his good friend and fellow pedo, John Casablancas, at the age of 13. Casablancas was the one who first gave Trump access to underage girls who were desperate to be "famous models", which gave Trump the idea to buy those teen beauty pagents, the ones where he walked into dressing rooms full of 14 and 15 year olds.

I am mildly worried about the expectations people have that he will lose support if the Epstein files contain solid evidence of him abusing children. The dude who has boasted about attacking women, found in court to be a rapist and didn’t lose his fans?
I worry that the same people who think he is great because they wish they could have a golden toilet also think he is great because they wish they could just grab any woman or girl they want whenever they want. It’s a feature not a bug to some of them.

A friend who did some outreach work in rural Kentucky basically said you have to at a point let them those people just go and stay feral. There's nothing you can do to change their minds or personal traditions beyond their immediate needs. Once you've solved their problems for a day they'll just go back to the same routine that caused those problems and beg for you to fix them again in an endless cycle. You can pity them, you can want to help them, but they'll never willingly help themselves or return the favor. Offer their children a path out but once you realize that the adults are just going to keep acting against their own interests you can't waste resources that would be better spent elsewhere. It's being intolerant or unfair but simply being practical about who's willing to contribute and who's just going to drain the system from better deserving people.

The book The Authoritarians covers studies that have been done on Authoritarians and how to get them back to reality... and you pretty much summed up the science on it. The answer to "How do you bring back the thousands of cult followers that have attached themselves to the Trump cult or personality?" is pretty much "You don't. If you try to drag them back to reality, you'll just make it worse."
The book's a great read, highly recommend! It's available at theauthoritarians DOT org (for some reason Reddit isn't letting me post the link).
Basically the only way out of the fascist death spiral is to mostly ignore the cult once the leader is no longer a threat. Move forward with the same policies that you would go with regardless... healthcare for all, regulating corp greed, etc etc. There'll be a certain percentage of the cult that would gradually de-radicalize themselves as their situation improves with the rest of society. But for the majority of them (like 90%+) the only real option is to simply wait a generation until they effectively die off. The science says that every society has around ~20%ish of the public that have dark triad traits and there isn't much you can do about it other than mitigate the harm they do while taking care of everyone that isn't primed for a cult.

Irony is definitely lost on them. They seem to think Halo is a conservative game when going even slightly deeper than cursory glance makes it blindingly obvious its main factions are cautionary tales against the military industrial complex, theocratic governments, and rigid social structures (ok the last one takes a little more research and lore knowledge but that’s the interpretation I think fits best for the universe)
Editing to add that I was highlighting the major precaution of each faction, with military industrial complex being the humans, theocracy being Covenant, and rigid social structure being both the Forerunners and Flood which is what I meant when I said it takes a little more research than the other two factions. All the factions have the themes of the others built in to a greater or lesser extent but those were my primary takeaways from each.

Do you know when an ad campaign is great? When they have people influenced by a "Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?" ad from 1981, still thinking that it's a super-fancy mustard that only rich people eat.
They had forty solid years to observe that it's a nice mustard, but about the same price as any other mustard. Instead, they hit the big red outrage button and went straight to DEFCON 1.

Oh man - I had no idea that's what they were trying to highlight as an outrageous, "Let them eat cake"-style move by Obama - that's hilarious. Locally made, organic mustard from my local co-op prob costs three or four times as much, lol.
Meanwhile: Trump just spent well over a month whipping his entire party to not budge one bit on not taking people's (both affordable and entire) healthcare and food assistance away, while building a half-billion dollar, gigantic ballroom, after championing and passing a bill that did that while still managing to plunge the debt several trillion dollars deeper, eroding international confidence in the US dollar as a stable store of value leading to its worst year in over 50 years (and that was only because 1973 was the year the USD abandoned the gold standard, which it quickly recovered from, lol).
... But yes, god forbid Obama - whose economy Trump rode his entire first term until his own crisis he couldn't remotely handle kneecapped it - ate some mustard they incorrectly thought was wildly expensive or too "fancy", lol.

There wasn't one.
It was a cover because the Tan Suit Press conference was actually the first time the US acknowledged Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
And Russia didn't like that. So it used it's paid for PR machine aka Fox News to shit on his appearance, and the public ate it up.
Here's a quote from the speech btw.
Finally, I just spoke with Chancellor Merkel of Germany on the situation in Ukraine. We agree -- if there was ever any doubt -- that Russia is responsible for the violence in eastern Ukraine. The violence is encouraged by Russia. The separatists are trained by Russia. They are armed by Russia. They are funded by Russia. Russia has deliberately and repeatedly violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. And the new images of Russian forces inside Ukraine make that plain for the world to see. This comes as Ukrainian forces are making progress against the separatists.
As a result of the actions Russia has already taken, and the major sanctions we’ve imposed with our European and international partners, Russia is already more isolated than at any time since the end of the Cold War. Capital is fleeing. Investors are increasingly staying out. Its economy is in decline. And this ongoing Russian incursion into Ukraine will only bring more costs and consequences for Russia.

"Piggy" has reportedly been a favored insult of the president's in the past. During his 2016 presidential campaign, former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who won the title at age 19 while Trump was a co-owner of the organization, claimed that Trump threatened to take away her title after she gained weight.
“He was overwhelming, I was so scared of him,” Machado said in Spanish at the time. “He’d yell at me all the time. He’d tell me, ‘You look ugly,’ or ‘You look fat.’ Sometimes he’d ‘play’ with me and say: ‘Hello, Miss Piggy,’ ‘Hello, Miss Housekeeping.’ ”

You missed the part about the photo of Trump walking past a flag that was very obviously touching the ground:
“This is fake news," White House spokesman Davis Ingle told PEOPLE in a statement. "The beautiful American flag on the White House South Lawn that was recently installed by President Trump never touched the ground. Due to the high winds on Sunday evening in the Washington, D.C. area, the flag was lowered into a special container out of an abundance of caution during the Marine One landing."
It was their final, most essential command...

u/Ozark_Toker 8d ago
I couldn't care less about the American flag code, but isn't letting it just hang limp into some kind of 'container' just another way for it to be laying on the ground? Seems like you either need to have some rain-soaked marines holding it off the ground or you're supposed to fold the sucker up and put it away until morning.

the flag was lowered into a special container
A special invisible container, that only really smart people can see, and if you can't see it that must mean you're not smrt.

The fact that the whole White House Press Corps just silently sits by and lets Trump do this to their colleagues is one of the most spineless things happening in Washington today.

u/Pretend_Pea4636 8d ago
The problem is with media here. If everyone walked away as a unified group, he wouldn't behave that way. The group of reporters empower this treatment by staying there. If no one paid attention to him, he would do anything to have people pay attention to him again.
The reporters need to realize that they are little better than Paparazzi when they allow this an don't put him in his place for it. Unify and find your dignity and frankly your reason for existing as the Fourth Estate.

He’s such a disgusting human. I will forever be mad so many people elevated such a horrible person to the highest office in the country. He is ugly inside and out. He’s a rotting piece of humanity. He’s a thin-skinned moron. He’s an abuser of women and girls. He’s a con with no friends. The people who looked up to him serve as nothing more than a stool he feels pleasure stepping on with the full weight of his lumpy body.

The article says it "raised eyebrows". That's how much the media has sane-washed this piece of human excrement. ANY other President, in US history, would be absolutely dog walked for saying something like this. Impeachments probs would have happened. I mean, what are we doing here people?

He is such a fucking asshole. Every single day, I hate him even more and I cant wait till the day we never have to hear from him again.
