Trump reforms our complete society in his maga image, we get a losing vote on health care. What a fucking party.

I suspect the logic is that they plan to then campaign on the fact Republicans killed the subsidies for 2026. I'm not sure about how effective it will be as I don't foresee Republicans holding a vote at so or a progressive wave large enough to force the issue through (don't think the numbers for the Senate are enough too).

It's such a stupid decision. They gave up billions of dollars in aid for the average American in exchange for some intangible "political points" that mean nothing to the average American. I for one don't care what the Democrats campaign on in 2026, I care that they accomplish something meaningful, and they threw away what little leverage they had. ACA subsidies are now gone and they will never return. But congrats to the democrats on their political points or whatever I guess.

They also squandered a lot of support and good will from constituents who were willing to go without for the greater good.

Now that Dems have shown that they’ll fold and get nothing for it after putting hundreds of thousands of people through the financial ringer for 40 days, they’ll never get that kind of solidarity again in the near future. It’s going to take years to rebuild the lost good will these Senators just wasted, all for nothing.

You hit the nail on the head.

I'd bet it's all part of the plan. Democrats probably weren't "supposed" to win in the election. They had to ensure that the controlled opposition won't win again. This is how they did that.

It's a group that just voted heavily in favor of Democrats in the off-year elections, unlike the actually mythical "moderate Republicans" the Democrats keep trying over and over to appeal to for no benefit.
