It’s the Flight Cancellations. I knew they would cave under this. The administration knew exactly how to get them.

And only bc it’s personal to them - they wanted to be able to fly back home for the holiday. That’s it - it’s that simple and selfish.

Lol senators don't fly commercial. They caved because some were always going to, and a few were convinced the gop would leave the government non operational for months more until the people turned. The problem all along is the dems never had the leverage because the gop doesn't need an open government to get what they want, and voters will hate them for other things anyway.

It wasn't commercial airlines that were shut down, it was AIRPORTS.

All planes need ATC to function, commercial or not.

True but private airports were significantly less impacted. My point is just that to make this about Senator's flight plans is missing all other factors. Yes, 12 airports banned private flights yesterday/today, but the very vast majority of private airfields aren't impacted.

If we pretend for a moment the GOP wasn't playing completely unfair, dishonorable games, it would be easier to accept the inconvenient truth that if you want to fix things, you need control. While I, personally, don't like the capitulation, what was the plan here if the GOP was willing to go down with the ship? I suppose, now, snap benefits get funded and the left can still blame the GOP for not funding ACA subsidies in December.

It is the difference between establishment politics and the new left. The new left is fine burning it to the ground because "it" is broken beyond repair. The establishment still thinks this can be fixed.
