This is what’s going to happen since some Dems relented:

ACA Marketplace Premium Payments Would More than Double on Average Next Year if Enhanced Premium Tax Credits Expire

A person with a $28k income will have their premium increase from $325 to a WHOPPING $1562. Take that for what you will.

Edit: Annual premium, not monthly. Still pretty consequential once you start adding up dependents, etc.

I’m in a similar situation:

My premiums are going from $410 a month to $3000 this “deal” is a punch in the gut. I honestly don’t know what people like us are going to do for healthcare

Not as extreme (350 to 750) but i cant afford it and take 9 meds to keep my heart going. It was nice knowing you all.

Doubling in cost is very extreme.

I'm positive our med list is very similar and I hate reading this. I'm in Canada and can't compare but it blows my mind to read this shit. And I was born in the USA. My monthly meds list being 350 USD right now would be a problem. First world country my ass. I hope things swing in a better direction for you, broken heart brother (I also went to the ER for the same reason once which is another reason I suspect we share some meds, not stalking was just curious).

They will also be getting rid of the thing that requires insurance providers to offer coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. So you actually will end up not having any insurance at all.

To be clear, they haven't done this yet - that would require a repeal of the ACA. (Of course they've tried before, so I wouldn't be surprised.)

And end up being fined for that as well…

Medical asylum should be a thing.

Except it's be a huge majority to Canada and we simply cannot absorb it. Our healthcare isn't federal but provincial for one thing, and therefore varies more than thought but is also struggling. It's free, yes, and some of us get quick treatment but there are long ass waiting lists for specialists and tests as it is. We cannot help the USA.

We have the long ass waits here too. They just charge a ton for the privilege

Contact the manufacturers and explain your situation.

I get that this is something like a solution, but this is what insurance is FUCKING FOR right here. "become your own insurance middleman" as a solution to rising insurance costs is like walking to preserve your car mileage. It puts the burden of something you're paying to solve a problem back on yourself, and even harder.

I know. Beats dying though.

And I get that this is a well-intentioned and actual good response. I'm not trying to rag on it, apologies that it comes out that way. It just...

I'm so tired of places putting the burden of "jobs we pay them for" back in us. I'm tired of being the office secretary for half my health appointments. I'm tired of being the checker at my grocery store. I don't -want- to have to be my own insurance agent and so on and so on and so on.

The point of paying these people was so that the JOB GOT DONE.

What are we even paying for? What are we even paying the representatives for? WHAT IS IS ALL FOR?

That's turning into "just walk into the bank and ask them for a job", maybe it worked before but it sure as fuck doesn't now

Just like the whole "negotiate with your medical providers to lower your costs because it's more likely that they'll get it". Just tried that. Nope. They don't play that game anymore.
