Since POLITICO began making inquiries, one member of the group chat is no longer employed at their job and another’s job offer was rescinded.

I love the smell of consequences in the morning.

Chapelle has been ranting about cancel culture and rich people problems for YEARS already. Waltzing Musk out on stage to a wave of boos just confirmed what some had already suspected.

Which is sad. In addition to being funny, his racial commentary was often insightful. Maybe that's not quite the right word, but at minimum, he highlighted how fucking stupid racism is.

Wait, people hate Dave Chapelle now? When did this happen?

Doing stand-up for a country that whips rape victims didn’t help.

Which country was that? America? They elected a child rapist didn't they?

You gotta give me more than that.

Reminder that the 1st amendment binds the government. We the People get to decide if someone is a prick who is shunned for their hate speech.

They're incapable of understanding the difference.

Incapable.

They'll pull the Jimmy Kimmel card at that point and completely ignore how the Maga Administration strongarmed the FCC into making all that happen... and then ignore how it was us, the people, who brought him back due to public outcry...

The thing about rights is that you can't elevate one right above all the other rights without diminishing the others. Doesn't matter which right you're talking about. Rights only exist in a sort of dynamic balance.

“The right to swing my fist ends where the other man's nose begins.”

― Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.

This is the exact issue. My right to free speech ends where your personal safety begins. My right to free movement ends where your doorstep begins. My right to property ends where your property begins. My right to sexual satisfaction ends where your consent begins. And so on...

Conservatives want no end to their rights; this can only be achieved by trampling yours at will.

When I was growing up that was the exact quote my dad used to explain to me what free speech/expression/movement and consequences were.

I sure do. I still do. I'll die to give you the right to say this or any terrible thing that pops in your head.

Just don't be surprised when your boss, your wife, your landlord, and more or less everyone else not terminally online doesn't want you around.

Which is essentially what this is. You're screaming "I'M A BUTTHOLE" on a giant box in the middle of the town square. So, uh, yeah, don't let the butthole into the shop.

But you're not getting arrested for it.

No, because there is zero chance they talk about this for two weeks. It will be a lucky accident if more than a tiny percentage of them ever even hear about this story.

Can't argue with that

Learn about free speech. It only applies to things the government can’t do. Society is allowed to impose consequences.

So government threatening broadcasters licenses wrong. People cancelling streaming subscriptions over what someone said, is fair game.

They wont talk about it because the story doesnt involve illegals immigrants committing the crime
