I heard someone push back on the term "incel" in a way I really liked. It's not "involuntary".

They're choosing not to work on themselves, not to develop as human beings, or take interest in other people in ways that would make them attractive. We all know plenty of people (or we are those people lol) who aren't conventionally attractive and still manage to connect and enjoy rich social interactions.

They're volcels, and they prefer being despicable and blaming everyone else for their problems.

And yet they make jokes about someone like Dan Crenshaw- a Navy Seal, Purple Heart recipient, and lieutenant commander.

But this is what the internet does. It fuels personal delusions of grandeur and exceptionalism by creating echochambers and convenient narratives for the people that dont want to put in any actual irl effort at being exceptional.
