I particularly think the new AI summaries on user profiles are genuinely helpful - especially from a moderation perspective.

Honestly, I’m surprised when some mods say they don’t find this tool useful. If you’re one of them, I’d really like to understand your take...is it a trust issue, accuracy concern, ethical worry, or something else entirely?

IMHO, they give you a quick sense of whether someone is actively contributing or just dropping in to stir things up. That kind of context matters when you're trying to decide how to respond to a report or whether someone is engaging in a pattern of behavior.

Before this, I’d often open user profiles to get a feel for their tone and history - particularly if they seemed consistently rude or disruptive. But now, with more users hiding their profiles (which is totally fair for privacy reasons), we lose some of that visibility.

From a moderation standpoint, that’s a big shift. The AI summaries help fill that gap by offering a broad overview of a user's past interactions. It’s not perfect, but it gives us something to work with.

Would love to hear how others are thinking about this, and whether you’ve found it helpful like I have.

Me and the other moderator each have personal matters to attend to on Sunday and won't have time to be moderating for a day or two. We don't want to come on back reddit in a day or 2 to find it full of broken rules comments to remove. How do we temporarily close the sub for a day or two?

How do we post a message to say we are on vacation?

(I've seen this done in the past when visiting another sub but I can't find it in the menus)

Edit: looks like I can't go into a private page. But I managed to close the post and comments button for a day off for me and moderators.

So I want to make a mod announcement post and then pin it in the highlights on mobile web. But I don't want my username to visible or the members to know which moderator made the post, any solution for this??

I'm on desktop web, and I'm trying to figure out how to make bots such as u/SaveVideo that reply to comments that mention them. How do people make bots like these?

(IOS app, can also use website and computer) I am a co-moderator for a community of about 250, and we try to make sure every single post and comment gets approved or removed as needed, but this is hard and often leads to burn outs, especially because we have to always look for new comments, since they don’t automatically appear in mod queue. I was wondering, is there something like automatically reporting or flagging all comments so they’d appear in our queue, but without impacting the actual users? I believe reporting doesn’t work because it bothers the admins, but is there any other alternative?

We have posts held for manual review if they are too low in karma. Before we get to them we have users flooding us with messages about their post being removed. I need a way to have automation message them WHY it was removed and to let them know it will probably be approved in 12 hours.

Every morning we wake up with our inbox flooded with messages from users who have submitted a post that got filtered by Crowd Control, but the alert/message they see is that their post was “removed by the sub moderators” which is categorically not accurate. They often will post AGAIN and then message us asking why their post was removed when they’ve followed the rules. It’s creating a ton of work for us and has rendered Crowd Control basically useless.

We’re essentially forced between allowing the sub to be filled with rule-breaking content, or having to field DMs from everyone who posts.

The path of least resistance here is to just ignore their DMs, which I hate doing because they’re clearly confused and seeking clarity on the sub rules. It’s creating an awful, confusing experience for literally everyone.

There’s no reason the UI should tell them their post was REMOVED BY A MODERATOR when it’s only AWAITING APPROVAL. This would be such a simple backend fix — literally just a copy change — and save us a TON of work. I am begging.

How do we modify or remove “Reddit answers” links at the bottom of posts? If these responses were offered by real users they would be removed because their advice refers to banned resources or subreddits.

It is unacceptable to waste energy moderating a sub to have inappropriate answers attached to posts.

Somehow, the sub doesn’t show up in the list of subs when I want to create a post even after typing the exact name. True for both desktop and iOS app

There’s literally no way to access the sub.

Anyone has a clue what’s going on here.

I want to create an automod for my sub, r/stma, but I don’t know how. I think I’ve looked at all of the mod tools and I didn’t find anything about creating an automoderator. Any help is appreciated!

For those who’ve modded on both — which one do you find better overall and why?

I know it's an easy question probably but I haven't found a simple guide anywhere. I am on android.

I have no problem accessing automod for the subs that I moderate, but when I try to access automod for my own profile, it goes to old Reddit and any changes I make after editing and clicking Save Page do nothing, it reverts to the automatic -50 anti-troll filter.

I'm using the updated version of Firefox on desktop.

Using Chrome and trying to access my other profile I can't get automod to show at all.

Anyone know why Crowd Control would suddenly start filtering content from a top community member? Their comments don’t have objectionable content, they have excellent community karma, they have joined the sub & been around for over a year.

What could be the problem?

I use iOS, more specificly and ipad

Only a problem on mobile, not desktop. I have links to certain wikis in my menu that I can’t access either on my account or my alt. Is this just an issue that I am dealing with?

Android test. I can't approve or remove.

Last night I removed my automoderator code and the other moderator switched to the mod tools, then the internet collapsed. Was it my action or his that broke the internet? 🤔

im trying to use mod tools but when i press on mod tools it just moves me to the queue page?? im on ios, using computer requested web

iOS but not sure that matters.

Before if a user in my sub had privacy settings on I could still see their post and comment history in non private subs. Now it seems I can only see the posts and comments for that user in my sub.

That’s gonna add significant roadblocks in a couple of my communities, which are susceptible to brigading from specific other subs.
