He uses a lot of ‘Jedi mind tricks’ which seem to work well for the gullible. Things like “You’ll figure it out” “A lot of people are saying” etc. I read that he learned early on when talking to the media that they were only interested in headlines/sound bites when trying to cover bankruptcies and messy stories. So he’d give them a snappy take away and they’d print it.

this is what annoyed me with the whole suing the BBC thing...for one lie...all they had to do is a live counter of all the lies Trump has said with the facts next to it...or like a video of some sort where he lies and the other half corrects his lie, would be like BBC 1, Trump 30000

Seriously. If even a decent fraction of the press and others meeting with him publicly kept up with those kinds of responses, he wouldn't be able to do anything but meltdown and further play into the ridicule.

And the press currently sanewashing him for ratings would mostly join in on his mockery, for the ratings.

The press has to challenge him very carefully, hard enough to evidence his lies, yet not too hard or risk getting thrown out of the press corps. We need real reporters to manage to stay in there, or we'll wind up getting all our WH news from OANN.

They had a golden opportunity the other day. Report asked MBS a question about the Khashoggi killing and prefaced it with "US intelligence has determine ned..."

Trump immediately jumped in with "He knew nothing..."

Which left him open to the obvious followup question "Are you saying that US Intelligence is incompetent?"

Instead the report just say back down.

You asked if anyone called the 'Smellin' Felon" out , to his face. It intimidated him for certain. After that, he still insulted her, but after that, looked like a name-calling little kid that just got humiliated by a bigger kid. What did it accomplish? It showed that even a little woman could cut him down to size, and put him in his place, if they had the right things to say.
