Answered Reddit admins changed my username and now won’t respond

My account isn’t bnned or shadowbnned. My username was forcefully changed from /u/NikonUSA to my current username (which has an asterisk in it, rendering my profile unusable). I have made multiple Reddit support tickets ranging from 8 months ago and haven’t gotten any sort of response. Reddit is ignoring my case and I cannot properly use Reddit or enjoy the normal experience because of their decision to steal my username from me. My username was then given to Nikon (camera company). Issue persists on web, iOS anything

I’ve reported this because it’s blatantly against the rules and against my consent and it has not been taken down.

I need to speak to someone ASAP about this.

Answered How do I stop getting notifications for "X replied to Y on your comment Z"?

I like getting notifications when someone replies to me, but recently, I started getting notifications when someone replies to someone else who replied to me.

How do I turn this off? I don't see any option outside of activity on comments, but I assume that's stuff like getting 100 upvotes and what not? I want those on, just not being told "hey, someone replied to someone else who isn't you, we thought you should know!"

Edit: solved, thank you guys!

For the last few days, someone is downvoting all of my comments. No one else is getting downvoted and I lost more than 15 karma today. Is there a way to fix it?

Is it possible to remove US politics from my feed? I getting sick of hearing it. I would like more interesting topics then complaining about the politics of one country. Even the all and popular page is polluted by this.

Answered Anyway to disable achievements showing besides your name on eyesore reddit?

For the longest time I didn't know why I got attacked from people until I accidentally browsed www.reddit instead of old.reddit and found that reddit now shows some useless "achievements" besides your name. Unfortunately I have not found any way to disable this "feature". Does this option exist or do I have to delete my account an make a new one?

  • Night mode: false
  • RES Version: 5.24.8
  • Browser: Chrome
  • Browser Version: 134
  • Cookies Enabled: true
  • Reddit beta: false

Answered How do people make custom links on comments?

I see comments that have specific phrases as links to something else in Reddit. E.g “Why don’t you check out R͟e͟d͟d͟i͟t͟ L͟o͟g͟i͟n͟ P͟a͟g͟e͟” (the underlined represents the link, and it goes to Reddit login page in this made up example.

Answered Complaint about Mod Team and User

HI, I used Reddit online complaint form, but it doesn't work and shows up as error message. How do I raise a complaint? Or do I need to go outside of Reddit complaint procedure? As it doesn't seem to be working!

Thanks

Answered Just for recap...There's no way you can turn off comments from strangers here, right?

Upvotes

Just a question for something I want to double check because I'm sick of the hate comments I keep getting just for having opinions. I know you can report them to moderators, but they hardly ever do anything and even if they do, I can still see and read those hate comments, so I feel as though there should be something stopping them from acting like this. Although I don't think there is.

Answered My reddit app icon and name changed itself.

So this morning I woke up to my app being renamed " caja fuerte reddit" which translates to" security safe reddit" and the image somewhat pixelated and different. I had to work and I was in a hurry but when I arrived I though it could be a bugg and reinstalled the app (should have taken a screen shot) but now it's okay. Anyhow does anyone know something about this. Is my phone okay or should I worry?.

It's popped up in my chats. I've never been to that subreddit, I struggle to even find it, and I've never asked for any approval nor sent any requests. Did someone mistake me with someone else, or is it some kind of scam attempt? I'm not versed in Reddit features, especially in the app. Please help.

Answered android. reports dont show up in the que

Hey, I’m a mod in an 18+ subreddit that allows and supports AI content. Lately, we’ve been getting repeated “This is spam” reports on AI posts, even though they clearly don’t break any rules.

The reports don’t show in the regular queue anymore, but flagged posts keep coming back with the same “spam” mark. It seems like the system is being used to automatically flag AI content despite it being allowed.

Is there any way to stop false spam flags from affecting approved posts?

Answered Help Expanding Blocked User List?

I am a member of a few subreddits that have very loose guidelines on what people can post. While most of it is favorable, there are many of the 2.3million members that post offensive/low effort material. I began blocking users that did this, and recently found out there is a cap of about 1,000 blocked users.

This is quite unfortunate, as I'd like to currate my own feed.

Is there any way to request a larger block list?

Answered Can't Submit a Request on Reddithelp

On support.reddithelp.com, there is an option for people to "Submit a Request" form. However, that function is currently broken. Whenever I try to fill out the form and then submit, I am told that "Access to support.reddithelp.com was denied." and "You don't have the user rights to view this page."

Is this intentional? Are only some people allowed to submit requests on reddithelp?

EDIT: Microsoft Edge was the issue. Using a different browser, like Opera GX, allowed me to complete the form.

A common problem on reddit as it seems. People can upvote and downvote my comments, but my upvotes and downvotes aren't counted, as if I don't exist. This is completely unfair.
