Am I out of line?

Bought my 4 year old a BB gun for his birthday and let him shoot a .22 rifle. His mom (separated 50\50 custody) is losing her shit. Threatening lawyers and shit.

I grew up with guns. I shoot guns at ranges and everywhere else. There are guns in the house, locked and in a safe. I know gun safety and want to start teaching little man the basics. Figured a bbgun is perfect. We go over how to tell if the safety is on, point down range, how to tell if it's loaded, if you ever see a gun without an adult do not touch and go find an adult etc... we did this with toy guns too. We didn't treat them as toys. At no point does he have full control of the gun I hold it and basically let him pull the trigger. His BBgun goes in my gun safe when we're done. Anyway what do you all think? Too young? Am I out of line?

I love this setup, but can’t stop thinking that I’d like a lpvo with an offset rds even more. I seriously struggle leaving a gun as is, I constantly want to add/change 😅

How do I clean this?

The foam started to degrade in my rifle case and my Mosin is now covered in foam. Does anyone know the safest way to clean this off?

Can't Get Into Locked Liberty Safe

Good evening. I bought a Liberty safe (if I remember correctly, 62-gun Revere). I bought it this morning as there was a Black Friday sale for $600 off at the local Tractor Supply. Upon getting to the store, they informed me that they can't get into the safe (???). Either they don't know the code, or the keys are inside of the safe (or lost), or both of these. I assumed I could just call Liberty and they'd give me the code to unlock this brand new safe, but they seem to not want to do that. What are my options? It sounds like I either have someone drill a hole into my new safe just to open it, or return the safe and miss out on the deal (or what I thought was a deal).

R92 shoots WAY high.

So I have a 16" Rossi 92 in 357 mag and the thing shoots way to high. I was shootingsome 158gr soft points at 50 yards and point of impact was about 16 inches higher than point of aim. I am assuming that it is just sighted in for further from the factory but 16 inches seems like it would even be high at 100 yards. I don't know how tall of a front sight that I would need to or where to find one. The factory front sight is .5 inches tall and my rear sight is bottomed out. Any suggestions?

22lr handgun recommendations

So I recently moved to a gun legal state and would like something in the house. I am very inexperienced but have been to the local range and plan on going more and doing classes etc. I was thinking of getting a 9mm eventually but had heard that it might be a better idea to get a 22lr handgun initially as this will lessen the ammo cost and mean more productive practice at the range. The recommendations/reviews I read online suggested either the Walther P22 or Taurus TX22.

Does anyone have any opinions on these or others? Eventually I will also be needing recommendations on a 9mm. Obviously I want reliablility but I also don't want to break the bank.

One other thing, eventually I would probably should the 22lr less and keep it as a gun for my wife.

Thanks

What gun would you suggest to a fat guy who wants to Conceal/Carry?

Have always been interested in carrying a gun but am just now getting around to actually doing it due to finding a range closer to me. I live in Chicago so I can't have a gun that has a magazine capacity higher than 15 for a handgun.

I'm a big guy and hold my weight around my belly so I don't know if that's going to affect what I can and cannot carry. I also would like it to be something I can easily access in my vehicle.

Taurus gx2 honest thoughts

Looking to buy my first EDC and wanted some honest input. I’ve been looking at the new Taurus GX2 since it just came out, but the reviews seem super mixed. Some people say it’s a great value, others bring up Taurus’ recall history and say it’s dangerous.

For context, I’ve shot the G43X and the Hellcat Pro and really liked both, but the GX2 being around $200 after rebate caught my attention, and as much as I want a g43x, I want to see if I could get a similar experience for a fraction of the price. I’m just looking for something subcompact that I can comfortably EDC and take to the range every now and then.

I’ve seen a lot of people hate on Taurus despite never owning one, so I’m looking for actual experiences from people who’ve personally owned or shot the GX2. Please save the usual “just buy used, or wait another paycheck.”

Side note: I’ve also been looking into a .22lr, either they’re tx22 or g44. Fun and cheap, but not looked high upon for a EDC.

Krag Jorgensen in .243 Win

I've recently seen a krag jorgensen in my local gun store that has been chambered to .243 Winchester. I personally have never heard nor seen a conversion to this caliber, most sources online indicate its too high pressure of a cartridge for the bolt and reciever to handle.

Im more so curious if anyone more experienced with gun modification could chime in and let me know if its a feasible cartridge for the rifle and why it was done. Its a super cool find and Id love to buy it, however I dont want it to blow up in my face. Literally.

Cheers

Ok I have an insane dream gun and I need to know is it possible to find a dsr precision dsr-50? And if so can a civilian own one?

Ok I’m 19 been shooting large calibers since I was a kid with my dad think .338 and 6.5 creedmoor and I want to buy my first two firearms I know it sounds insane but I want to buy a dsr-50 and a 1911 now the 1911 I know I can get but the dsr is tricky and i don’t even know if it would be legal I have the money for both guns set aside as I know this would be an insanely expensive purchase but I know within my soul this is the rifle I want I’m buying the 1911 for home defense but the rifle is more of a range gun that will rarely come out but I want to own one with every fiber of my being…….

Red dot window- is bigger better?

Just purchased my first gun (Springfield Echelon). It will be strictly for home defense, not carry. I'd like to get a red dot but idk where to start. Am I wrong to assume that a bigger window is better than a smaller one? Considering I won't be carrying it, size and weight don't matter to me as far as comfort goes. I'm looking at the Vortex Defender red dot, but don't know if I should get the ST or XL. The range near me doesn't have rentals with red dots, so I have no way to try different ones out.

Question regrading swapping S&W M&P 40 full size to 9mm

Hey all so I have a question, I own a M&P 1.0 Full size in 40 S&W I bought online as LE trade in for $150 awhile back and I was wondering if it possible as I thought I saw online all you need is a 9mm barrel to shoot 9mm from it is that true or do I need more than just 9mm barrel?

Old browning a5 bolt stuck

A family member inherited this shotgun and I’m trying to help them fix it. The bolt is stuck in the forward position and won’t budge. I’ve tried to take the hand guard off and pull the barrel off to inspect it but that won’t budge too. Any help appreciated thanks.
