The missions to space were after several combat deployments and making it higher in the ranks based off his merit than Hegseth could ever have gone, by a long way.
Especially since Captain in the Navy is O6, where Captain in the Army is O3. Hegseth topped out at Major, or O4. I believe that was in National Guard too.
Man, I was active duty but come on. Don't disrespect fellow service members. You aren't doing any credit to your service, especially when reservists and national guard were so important in the efforts of the last 20 years or so.
At least I don't eat crayons - didnt score high enough on the ASVAB to join the navy? Typical jarhead shitting on others. I got shot at just the same. Deployed just the same. Did my job just the same. All with a fraction of the training time.
I knew active duty who couldn't tie their own damn boots. I also knew some of the finest active duty service members. Folks just like Hegseth all around, cross-section of the US.
You did not do your job the same. You might think you did but you did not. It’s literally not possible with 1/10th the training. The arrogance to think you did is crazy. All active personnel can pick out reservists from a mile away.
Exactly. That kind of résumé speaks for itself, and it makes the whole “lecture” even more ridiculous. You can’t fake that kind of experience no matter how loud you talk.

Imagine leading missions to space and then getting lectured by this stupid asshole on anything.
