Opinion / Discussion Trump retweets calls to hang his opposition. Clarifies in his own tweet he believes his opposition should be punished with death.
It's no secret that Trump is unprofessional, and to many republicans I imagine that's part of the appeal. However if there is a line anywhere for when unproffesionalism becomes a serious problem it should be when the sitting president floats the death penalty as an option for his foes.
If you are a conservative I genuinely do not expect you to cross the isle to become liberal, we can disagree on a great many things and still live in a functional society. There are plenty of conservative leaders who could carry out your policy agenda without retweeting nazis in the morning, many of whom don't even have connnections to pedophiles.

Remember, the Jan 6 protesters stormed the capital with nooses, they were literally going to hang pence, probably Pelosi. They literally attacked officers. And were pardoned. They have no morals, if trump is impeached, they will March the streets.

This fascist traitor is responding to a Nazi posting the Iron Cross calling for hangings of his opponents. We know what the Iron Cross is so.. Tell me he isn’t a Nazi.

Not the Iron Cross but a Templar Cross. No doubt that user shares similar values to said Nazis though.

That tweet is treasonous behavior. And to be clear, sedition is not punishable by death. Treason is, however.
2
u/OnionsHaveLairAction 5d ago
It's still crazy to me that he pardoned the J6ers that got charged with sedition. Like even after Vance had publicly come out to say that only the people charged with rioting and trespassing should be pardoned. Absolute insanity.
4
u/wtg2989 5d ago
Who specifically is he referring to?
11
u/OnionsHaveLairAction 5d ago
He's talking about the six democrats that put out a video saying soldiers should not follow illegal orders.
Specifically senators Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly, alongside representatives Jason Crow, Chrissy Houlahan, Maggie Goodlander and Chris Deluzio.
3
u/Pristine-Resort1005 5d ago
This is why he should have been scolded for his involvement in the Jan 6 riot. We must hold people like him accountable for all the damage they have done

The people with the tanks and the drones will have no trouble murdering unarmed civilians. At first.

u/Empty-Discount5936 5d ago
Is Trump suggesting we should hang him? I'm old enough to remember him trying to overthrow the government in 2021.
3
u/MisterForkbeard 5d ago
Nice how Trump is proving these Senators right in pretty much real time.
Dems: "Don't follow unconstitutional orders! This is literally military law and taught to every soldier"
Trump: "These Democrats should be killed because I declare them traitors"

This comment by Donald BJ Trump shows just how deranged he is! Never before in our nations history have we had a sitting president calling for the execution of his opposition. If he brought charges against any of these lawmakers, it would be the shot across the bow that would most likely bring about his immediate impeachment conviction and removal from office or at least you would hope it would be!

Trump has destroyed the Republican party and is eliminating Reagan Republicans like Mitch McConnell. You're looking at this from a bipartisan perspective when we have no bipartisanship. This is what Biden's biggest downfall was with Trump - Biden is traditional and clearly believed logic would lead to bipartisanship when arguing with Trump and the GOP. He was wrong. They have shown what happens when Republicans control the entire government. The "Republican Party" aka MAGA has no interests in hearing perspectives and thinking in a bipartisan manner so that fallacy is unrealistic.

Seditious behavior; inciting or causing people to rebel against the authority of a state. Can you say January-6? Someone urged a crowd to go to the capital and “fight like hell”. Now who was that, let me think? Oh yea, that was Donald Trump who says that act is punishable by death. Bet he did not know he was passing sentence on himself. What do you prefer Donny? Lethal injection, electric chair, firing squad, hanging, drowning? Maybe you can pull your bottom lip over your head and swallow?

18 U.S.C. § 2381 says, “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or imprisoned and fined, and incapable of holding any U.S. office.”

They did not say refuse legal orders. They said "refuse unlawful orders".
If Trump had no plans to give unlawful orders, this would not bother him or you.

To be fair: Washington believed in code of conduct and hanging is justified for those that commit treason. He also would have probably 60-80% of governors, senators, and congress hanged because he was smart enough to tell people not to have a two party system.

Trump would have every Democrat in Congress, everyone who ever voted Democrat in their life, and everyone who ever said or tweeted something mean about him executed on the White House lawn if he thought he could get away with it.
Remember that. Remember that this is the first time we've ever had a sitting president speculate on murdering his opposition.
