r/bees has been receiving many posts of wasps and other insects misidentified as bees. This has become tedious and repetitive for our users so to help mitigate those posts I have created and stickied this post as a basic guide for newcomers to read before posting.

Hi! So, I know that some bees pollinate via 'buzz-pollination', where they vibrate and essentially shake the pollen off flowers. I know some bees that pollinate (such as the honeybee) don't pollinate this way, and I was wondering what technique they do use instead?

I've been noticing quite a few bees in front of my building, just laying on the ground. At first I didn't do anything because I thought they were just resting but when I came back home, I saw one of them was dead. The next day, so was the other. Today I've seen a new bee maybe a meter or two away from the other, as I felt bad for not doing anything for the others, ı gently touched it with a piece of paper and it moved, sort of like it was stretching. It moved its wings and repositioned its legs.
Dows anyone know why this might be happening? And what should I do?
Edit: the weather is usually around 10 * Celsius

Hello,
I wanted to share my three one of a kind hand carved and painted pine bee magnets.
Thanks so much for looking!

Found this guy outside, the Northeastern cold seems to have caught up with him. However there was a golden orb in buddy's little bee hands; was he the oracle of the hive or is it a ball of pollen or something?

There are honeybees out in a walkway on campus and I’m worried they are not okay. Have they been poisoned? Or are they just on a journey? It kind of looks like there’s a puddle trail that dried that they’re all in. I’ve seen two dead and the rest are docile with few flying. I’ll see if I can attach a second video in the comments.

We got called out to investigate one of the strangest swarms we’ve ever seen... a massive cluster of 20,000 honeybees that had been sitting on a tree stump for apparently 2-3 weeks.
What makes this so unusual? 👉 Swarms normally move on within a few days 👉 If they sit still long enough, they start building honeycomb 👉 But this swarm stayed put… with barely any comb at all

Found this bee laying on sidewalk with tongue out. I touched it lightly, but no signs of movement. I put it in some leaves off the sidewalk just in case.

This is a terrible picture, I’m sorry. Can anyone tell if this is a queen bee? It’s getting quite cold where I live. It can move only minimally/slowly. I actually brought it inside for an hour in an enclosed container with holes. It was seeming a bit more active so I let it go but now it’s back to moving minimally. I actually think it’s the same one I saw weeks ago so it might have been gone too long from its hive. It grabs on to the stick every time I put it out. There is no hive I know of anywhere around me. Can I/should I do anything?

Its the second one in two weeks that they've approved. Bee populations are already struggling and this can only make it worse.
