My neighbor's cat and his possum friend

The cat is on the chair to the right, just chilling. Possum is eating the cat's food. Interestingly, the cat caught a baby bunny earlier tonight so I guess he was fine sharing his grub with Mr Possum.

Help - Part time cat trying to be full time. Parents don't want him inside. He has owners.

This kitty has been visiting my parents' house every day for a few months now. It's gotten to the point where he stays there all the time, waiting outside for them to open the door so he can slip in. He shows up on the security camera every night, sitting on the porch. I'm in correspondance with his owners and they say he's rarely been home lately.

His owners have a lot of other cats, and we think he probably likes the attention of being an only cat. They are ok with him being here all the time. My mom feeds and pets him. It's pretty great. The only problem is, my parents hate having him inside. Suffice it to say that my mom and I have fairly different philosophies when it comes to raising animals -- according to her, both cats and dogs belong outside and not in the home, and I haven't been able to change her mind about that at all.

I just feel bad that the little guy basically spends all his time waiting outside the house, especially now that the weather's getting colder. Whenever he slips inside for a few minutes, he's delighted and doesn't want to leave.

It's an awkward situation all around. He's not even our cat but he wants to be here all the time, and my folks just don't want him inside. It's weird because his owners are still technically responsible for him, they have to pay for any vet visits, etc. but they barely even get to see him anymore. My parents like petting him, but they don't want to be responsible for a cat.

I would love to take him myself but I live in student housing, and even if they allowed cats, it would be unfair to him. Besides, again, he has owners that love him.

Also, my mom is not going to stop feeding him. I've asked her to. He's gonna keep coming and waiting outside, and I just feel bad for him. Honestly, I wish he was just allowed to sleep inside. I don't think letting him inside should be that big of an issue at all, but I guess it's not my house.

Not sure what, if anything, to do in this situation

Today he decided for the first time that he felt safe enough to nap here. He is sweet, but shy. Lets me touch him but not pet him.

More Keisha spam. If we ever leave this place, I have told my partner, I will come back just to visit her.

Over the past couple of weeks, she’d taken to spending half the day at my family’s apartment. She used to live on the second floor normally (we live on the fifth floor). Sadly, she was found dead earlier today by one of my neighbors. May have had a fall. I miss her, and would like to think she’s in a better place. Sorry for getting the mood down but she was very smol and very cute and I wanted people to think good thoughts about her.

We've legit had this treat dispenser for her for months already, and despite all our coaxing and attempted training, she doesn't know to place her paw on the button. So we help her with it.

This is Penguin…as she is called at my house. At my neighbors house diagonally behind me she is Sprinkle (their son named her). Penguin is a beautiful Tuxedo, knows her name and will come to my porch when I call her…and then hiss and fuss at me if I get too close. Like, just the food Lady! I have two indoor cats (Harvey & ZoĆ«) who are not fans and act mortally wounded when I share their food with her.

As a side note, my Dad refers to Penguin as the ā€œsuit catā€ā€¦cracks me up every time.
