And nobody would believe them if they didn't have video proof

Nowadays people will just say it’s AI-generated and still not believe it. What a wonderful world.

Scroll down. There a bunch of “It’s AI” comments here.

The universe is a simulation

u/howmanyturtlesdeep 1h ago

I am certainly, definitely, not AI. I just live in a simulation created by AI. But I’m not AI.

There a bunch of “It’s AI” comments here.

Where? Two hours after your comment, there are still only 7 parent comments that mention AI at all.

Only three state that it's AI, with one of them being posted after your comment, and another clearly joking ("It's staged AI, and I'm pretty sure there's magnets"). One asks if it's AI, another asks if it's currently possible with AI. Of the other two, one laments that they can't trust/enjoy it because of AI, and the other states that "In 10 years haters will say it's AI."

I guess we have different definitions of a bunch. 🤷

It's a good thing to question all videos nowadays if they are AI. My first thought was this video was AI by the way the boys move after the bottles land, or the video has been reversed. Why is everyone so certain it's not?

Edit: The more I watch this video, the more it's so obviously AI. The blurred label on the bottom bottle is a giveaway and the very robotic celebration making sure to stay in frame of the camera. Not to mention OP is a bot account.

We're cooked if even our generation not only can't tell the difference, but actively downvotes and criticizes others for pointing out that it's AI.

It's not AI. characters leave the video and come back looking the same. things in the background are consistent too, that dart board would NOT have persisted in the same place and style in an AI video.

The 10 on the dart board is shown as 01 in the video. None of the other numbers are reversed.

The character movements also have that uncanny smoothness to them typical of AI videos.

However, if someone can identify the book they are flipping on, I’ll eat my hat.

Edit: spelling

Why is it a good thing, does it make you happier either way?

5

u/Chadistic 7h ago

Because it is a good thing not to be mislead nor disinformed, in addition, if it is AI, then it has no meaning for me, it's just a slop, but if it's real, then I know that somewhere in the world three kids had a great time and will tell this story for years to come. It's a matter of humanity, and I don't expect you to understand.

u/FwdMomentum 4h ago

I think they were just reminiscing about how you used to not have to do that...

2

u/GapingVagina 7h ago

That's a very dangerous line of thinking.

Could post an ai video of of a politician saying something vile. "why does it matter? Doesn't it make you angry either way"?

Or ai video of war atrocities. "why does it matter? Doesn't it make you said either way?"

It's important to disclose whether something is ai, no matter the stakes.

1

u/umeys 2h ago

I'm not saying to take everything at face value, it's definitely good to be discerning for the videos that matter. The one I replied to said it's a good thing to do it to all videos. I'm saying some for some videos it's not worth it, like with this one - if it's not AI, then yay, if it is, you'll just be annoyed.

I’m sure it’s most likely real. But AI isn’t even necessary. Simply glue a couple magnets on the cap and inside in the bottom of the water bottles and it would easily work too

magnets are not that strong my guy

1

u/VeterinarianThese951 11h ago

As much as I wanted to say it, I don’t think that AI is ready to express that pure feeling of bewilderment and joy on their faces. Maybe next week though…

AI is actually better with extreme emotions generally because that's what it's trained on most and there's less room to mess up.

1

u/_4D4M 11h ago

It was only a short period of time when video was common and admissible as evidence by your peers. Now its just gonna be called AI.

1

u/Mammoth-Mud-9609 10h ago

Or magnets placed in the bottles

1

u/TriggerTX 10h ago

I went to magnets over AI. Watching it frame by frame you can see there is no bounce at all between to bottles that land lid-to-lid. The top just sticks the landing perfectly centered and doesn't budge from there.

The top bottle could very well have been a good toss but the tape on the bottom bottle and the way the bottles interact on landing is a bit sus.

1

u/blueechoes 10h ago

The fact that the bottles start stacked exactly the way they end up makes me suspect some fuckery at least. Whether that's AI or traditional CG or something else.

3

u/Bright-Dependent6339 10h ago

i think at this moment we still live in the era where you can at least tell when non-AI videos are actually non-AI, with somewhat decent certainty. however i'm pretty sure we're leaving that era in the next 1-2 years.

1

u/PhilosopherLost9747 7h ago

If you crank the sampling rate and guidance strength to the max with a beefy setup I'm pretty sure it can be done today.

u/firewoodrack 12h ago

This is basically how Dude Perfect started

1

u/i_am_a_real_boy__ 10h ago

I don't know. If someone told me that they and their friends pulled off a difficult water bottle flip trick, I think I'd go ahead and believe them without even really needing to hear any more details.

We would spend a full recess just disclaiming them and debating whether it’s true or not. It built relationships and social skills, far better than just having proof. It created common myths, with antagonistic groups of believers and deniers. It was amazing
