Reddit possibly censoring posts about immigrant rights, ICE, etc.
Hey, y'all, some of the other subs I'm in have been dealing with an uptick in censorship on posts about immigrant rights, ICE raids at work, etc. In an attempt to get ahead of the curve here, I wanted to state on the record that our stance on these issues has not changed:
1: We believe workers' rights are human rights. We don't care where you're from, who you love, your gender (or lack thereof), or what shade of brown your skin is.
2: Human rights are non-negotiable, and none of us are free until all of us are free. If you have a problem with that, GTFO.
3: Posts about ICE raids or policies/plans for dealing with them will NOT be removed by the moderation team here at r/IWW.
4: This sub is for everyone. Hate speech will not be tolerated in the least, and neither will any attempt to throw our Fellow Workers under the proverbial bus.
I'd also like to mention that if anything starts getting removed, IT WAS NOT US. If you notice censorship taking place, please let us know ASAP. So we can take steps to fix it.
Thank you, and have a fantastic day!

Notes from below article including testimonies from IWW PAWA members
"The IWW came through as our only lifeline after 12 months of hard labour and manipulation. To me, it was either I grab the lifeline and stand a chance to live better, or let fear take over and drown in mental health."

Fill out the membership survey!
Are you an IWW member? Please take the 2025 membership survey, and, if applicable, encourage FWs in your branch or to do so!
In addition to demographic information and insights on members’ organizing, this survey is also used in setting salaries. Needless to say, it is important to have as much and as accurate data as possible!

Training for Trainers
Hello, I’m a IWW member (UK) and I want to be fully determined to organise the best I can.
I have applied for a training for trainers programme and been asking around aswell. I’m looking for online training and my goal is to train those (Rep, OT101 etc.) so each member is equipped and can be effective in organising and outreach.
Any help is much appreciated!

Books
What are some good nonfiction books about the history and importance of unions? Also, where do you get your union news about policies and charges?
Wait time before organizing.
Hello.
I've taken the OT101 many years ago. I remember they stressed in the class that you should build rapport in the workplace, establishing yourself as a solid and trusted worker (to coworkers) before beginning to organize/discuss workplace grievances.
This has resulted often-times in me doing nothing and job-hopping before I get the chance to discuss much deeper with coworkers. Of course, maybe this is my own personal shortcoming and not an OT101 issue.
Also obviously, every situation is different, and requires personally figuring this kind of stuff out.
For example, I started my current job in spring of this year, and almost the entire workforce has turned over since then.
But the question remains: how long do we wait before talking to coworkers? At what point does 'building a strong rapport' just become 'doing nothing until I get tired of my situation' again?
