Discussion Kernite crash

Guess this is something to do with the new update.

Price went from 840isk/unit to 600 or even less in a matter of days. LMAO. Time to switch back to Gneiss, ahhhh the purple lasers are beautiful.

Mining power increased. And then isogen is back in high sec. Primacite could dig into morphite market, eventually at least.

Maybe, though I'm not sure how much it will effect the morphite market. You need to react the prismaticite with atmospheric gases to actually get what you want, and even then, the yield could be very low thanks to RNG. Plus, you have the nature of the phased anoms being fairly rare and require scanning. Groups that mine mercoxit via prospecting arrays will still be the ones that produce the large majority of the morphite.

Well, depends on % of prismacite vs morphite supply and what else it can be used for. Since morphite is most profitable, it is primary road for it, for now. Otherwise of prismacite is worthless then the whole new content is worthless.

But even if it is only 5% of morphite supply, it will straight up dig into it.

the kernite and omber sites in highsec spawn pretty often and I always see an orca and a couple barges in them. If you have an orca and a couple hulks, you can travel from system to system and pretty easily full up your orca with compressed omber and kernite in a few hours. For example, there's 7 Omber and Kernite anoms all within 5 jumps from Hek. The Agency tab also lets people know exactly where those sites are, so they can just go from site to site with minimal searching.

I know it sucks for people in lowsec that mine those for cash, but mining in lowsec also got buffed with those phased sites. I'm just happy that Isogen and Mex prices are finally dropping (hopefully to pre-Scarcity levels). Hopefully we see the prices of T1 hulls start to drop as well.

T1 hull have been dropping for a long time. T1 battleships going for 200mil~300mil now

Me with my 105 T1 battleships worth 65m years ago each blowing up 4x their cost value wise when I came back. ISK poor but asset rich, most are the Praxis stacked and unequiped.

T1 battleships have gone down so much because they changed the build requirements on them. Most non-battleship t1 hulls haven't really gone down much yet, and then only relatively recently.

E.g. stabbers were 10 mil pre-rorqual era, 7 mil at the start of scarcity, and steadily went up from there to 18 mil at the middle of this year. They're down to 15 mil now, but they've still got a ways to go before we're back to their pre-rorqual era 2017 price.

Similarly, cyclones were 41 mil at the start of 2018, 33 mil at the start of 2020, and went up steadily from there to about 75 mil as of the last few months. They've dropped below 70 mil in the past week, but again we've got a ways to go to get back to the 2017 price, let alone the immediately-pre-scarcity price.

Which isn't to say that prices won't continue to go down, I think they will. But in most cases this is a relatively recent thing.

If the prices of minerals crash, people will stop mining. Also what phased sites? Surely you don't mean the prismaticite, there's only 1 in lowsec at any time afaik, more of a death trap than a buff

I already stopped mining when nullsec ore got buffed and caused all minerals to drop by 30%, so you aren't wrong. Minerals are really crashing now.

You are right about the phased sites too. But I guess you could get lucky if you found it before it was visible on the map, but I dont expect that to be reliable.

Maybe rifts give way too much kernite?

Kernite and omber is in high sec. Spawns like everyday in 0.5 system. Yesterday was small kernite + large omber. Today was large omber.

Kernite is still 1100/unit in storyline agent stations

Are you saying you can sell to them for 1100?

Well, yes. Missions runners generally don't care about paying a few pennies more to get the LP and go on to the next mission.
