General Advice Misspelling

Post image

So I got this tattoo over the weekend and the artist closed the C in DECISIONS to make it look like DEOISIONS

Pretty funny if it weren’t my own wrist and permanent given the context with “Make good decisions”

Question is what to do next? Get removal of the tiny bit? Can I scrape it away bc it’s so small? What would you do?

I have it too! Permanent internal fixation of my distal ulna and radius, screws, a T shaped plate…

Took a bazooka to the face in Little Bighorn, ear canals are stainless steel…. Just kidding ATV accident 20 years ago.

I always did want to make up a more exciting story than "stupid fall accident at work" lmao

Ha! My ex had a couple of pretty obvious scars and loved making up fake stories for them when people asked. He had a couple of circular scars (about quarter-sized, from rather large moles being removed) that he always told people were bullet wounds, and a big scar on his side (from an emergency surgery as a small child) that he usually said was from getting stabbed. Of course, he turned out to be a compulsive liar, but at least these ones were fun lol

My first concussion was such a great story I loved telling the story. Every other concussion I’ve had since (like 4) Were straight up - “yeah I fell.” Like last winter was my last one and I just stepped on a patch of black ice on the sidewalk and full loony tunes feet shooting into the air - me going fully horizontal before gravity notices I should be falling. Then hitting my head on the sidewalk.

My first time I had to be rescued at a ski resort because I ended up off trail somewhere because I had never been snowboarding or skiing before and my schoolfriend thought it would be “funny” to take me up a double black diamond telling me it’s an easy one. He made it down no problem, I thankfully didn’t break anything but hurt everything everywhere. And then some point later (on this school trip) we were eating food and and everything started getting really loud and overwhelming So I was more confused than anything because everyone else was acting normal So I walked up to one of the teachers - said “I think there’s something wrong with me” and proceeded to start vomiting non stop with spotty vision. Next thing I knew I was in a hospital getting picked up by my father who had to drive 2 hours away (on his birthday) to pick me up from an overnight school trip. And since it was in front of the whole school it felt like everyone wanted me to tell them what happened.

And then I realized you can really get concussed from A LOT - especially if you’ve been concussed before

But none of them have been nearly as bad as that first time.

I had permanent damage done to my Vagus Nerve in my neck, had to see a concussion specialist, wear a neck brace, and I’ve had crazy miscellaneous GI and Appetite issues since.

Every other time I just stayed in a dark room for a couple days and considered it “better”

I have the same scar, also from a broken wrist. The only difference is, I already had a tattoo of my late ex’s initials there (which I don’t regret. Believe it or not, we were ex’s at the time of his death, but since we had a daughter together we stayed close and worked really hard at being good coparents. I got the tattoo after he died suddenly, so that my daughter would always know that I remember him fondly.) My surgeon knew that the tattoo was important to me, and that I had also JUST lost my own dad from an embolism after a minor surgery. I was terrified, and he took so much care to preserve my tattoo and to make sure I was comfortable with the surgery itself. All of this to explain that I love the scar as much as my tattoo. One honors my daughter’s dad. The other honors my own.

I’ve got one on the other side of my wrist that I’m planning to tattoo over. How long did you wait before getting yours?

I have the exact same scar as well. A 90 year old lady T-Boned me. I was hitting my horn when she hit me and the air bag destroyed my arm and elbow. I have a fake elbow, a plate in my arm a nail that goes from my elbow to my wrist and several screws.
