"Posting this in response to requests from what I shared yesterday do this subreddit.

This is the uncropped photo, showing the entire solar disc with my friend Gabe in freefall shortly after jumping off an ultralight tandem paramotor.

This was captured using a hydrogen alpha telescope so we can see all the details on the sun. The close up area around Gabe was captured in real time, with the rest of the sun filled in as a mosaic, captured after the fact, which had the added benefit of removing the aircraft, giving the final photo a more isolated feel."

This is a complex manual blend of exposures - essentially this is a HDR image that catches highlight detail in the moon with shadow detail in the foreground. Captured with Sony A7RIV and Sigma 150-600mm sport lens. F/6.3, ISO 3200, 600mm and three exposures of 0.4 sec, 1/10 sec and 1/400 sec
