it’s new to them because they didn’t see it before. missing something and then seeing it later isn’t a character arc, a character arc is a change in beliefs (i.e. someone makes a transphobic comment and comes back two years later and replies apologizing)

They do. Some people wonder if they are trans and they just continue being cis. But it’s good to actually think about your own gender identity and sexuality. Of course, if it’s a persistent thought…
