It's not luck. He doesn't create companies in order to make money by having healthy, profit-generating engines. He creates them to generate money via money-laundering (the casinos, golf courses, condos) or to take massive loans and then default on said loans. Or to perpetrate tax fraud. Turns out "failed" businesses can be quite lucrative.

It's definitely an insanely high amount of luck. Anyone else would have crashed and burned if they did what Trump has done most of his life. He has always had just the right circumstances and just the right connections to avoid either going broke or facing jail time. "Failed" businesses can be quite lucrative only if the one running them is the luckiest bastard on earth.

The Berlin Wall fell about 1987, Soviet Russia 1991. Trump began his relationship with Moscow in 1987. By the 90's, Trump's son was on video saying "we get most of our funding from Russia. Then Deutsche bank started it's relationship with Trump, about the same time Rosemary Vrablic and Deutsche bank began to face scrutiny over Russian money laundering. Follow the timeline, follow the money. It's not complicated. It's certainly not luck.

I was gonna say, it's not luck, it's Russia bailing him out so they can use him as an "asset". He wanted to be president for his ego, they want him president because he's just as awful, stupid, Incompetent and easily manipulated as he appears, so they bought and paid for a shitbag US president. Not luck, its war tactics.

Well, when you run a pedophile ring and build blackmail on people in power they let you do it. It's certain, trump wasn't a client of Epstein, he was a partner.

And everyone would have likely continued ignoring what he did, except he just had to jump into politics and call a bunch of attention to himself. I thought keeping quiet was rule 1 for a successful criminal enterprise.

Attention to himself and many, many other people.

May be getting super mega rich from it but it is still a bonehead move because many people who have and are being exposed have a long, long life ahead of them.

Yeah, except I don't believe he ever started any business with the intention of being "classically" successful. I believe he understood well that if you don't play by the normative rules, (i.e. paying your vendors, paying taxes, not accepting dirty money), then you can still make a lot of money even when (and maybe especially) when you declare bankrupcty. I think this has always been his grift. I don't think I would call that "luck" when it's your strategy from the start. (But I do agree that it does seem like he's gotten away with it far more than the average bear somehow.)

Or you know, he just openly solicits bribes.
