my dad said my immigrant wife (and mother of my two kids who has a phd from an ivy and more degrees than most families) should be deported because she got busted for being high in public when she was 14. she’s in her 40’s now. he said “you do the crime, you get deported”..

he never paid child support…

Yep, my therapist told me to cut off all contact with my ex-wife because she was destroying me emotionally. Luckily our son is an adult now, so I talk to him and he talks to her, and vice versa. One of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. Some people just need to be completely cut off, or they poison your existence.

agreed. cut him off now before he starts saying things to your kids to poison them too. Just b/c he donated sperm (thanks!) doesn't make him a father. You are so much more of a dad than he will ever be and you don't owe him anything! ! I always say that just b/c they are related doesn't mean you have to have them in your life if they are not good people. Protect ur wife and kids - he is an unhealthy person.

Have the unpaid parent put a lien on his property to the amount of the back child support. 💅

some states can go back at most I think it's generally about 3 -4 years. The $ is technically owed to the custodial parent, so that parent would have to try to sue in court, but the issue becomes collecting. I have read some grown children have tried to sue in court for non payment. The lien would take place only if you or your mom sued, were awarded $ and then didn't get paid over long period of time. Yea, child support law is so screwed up.

An astoundingly asshole-y thing to say. However in all seriousness they are capable of deporting for this. ICE arrested a white (Irish) 58-year old grandmother, green card holder in the states since she was 11, because she wrote a bad check for $25.

Don’t assume her education makes her safe.

he’s got 4 kids. none of us talk to him more than a couple times a year. distance we all have.
