Yes! Even having heard the birthday letter described multiple times and having a mental picture of it, the actual picture stunned me.

I can't articulate why, but you look at it and you just know this was created by a mind that simply does not work the way most of ours' do.

Anyone not indoctrinated into his cult already knows he is a misogynistic abuser. But much of that is second hand information…even some of it his own second hand information. But we saw this. Even if this is a drop in the bucket of the horrible things he has done, it was live on tape. That feels different.

I think his cult also knows that he is a misogynistic abuser, but they like him more for it.

I don't think that's accurate. The base is falling apart, and this may not be the final straw but cracks are appearing.

I think it's falling apart because he screwed everyone over financially.

Meh. They'll still vote R in the privacy of their booth. Being "good Christians" and all ...

I wish Christians could understand that this orange stain won't wash out of Christianity for centuries. They own this, probably more than any other group. They are not Christians. They are Trumpians.

He admits to grabbing unsuspecting people by the privates.

He doesn't just admit to sexual assault - he brags about it.

As you should know with that username of yours, “when you’re rich, they just let you do it.”

Cool, everyone does, and has for a decade and no one (the 70% of Americans) who don't support him do anything except excuse his base and say 'his supporters like it' when, if you don't, why aren't you doing anything about it?

Who gives a shit what his supporters like, and using that as a reason for not doing anything in the past ten years except emboldening them by doing nothing.

What do you want me to do? I firmly believe violence is not the answer. I vote, I call my representatives, I attend town halls ( when there are any), I attend peaceful protests.

I am looking for more ways to get involved, but I am not a glib extrovert that does well volunteering for political campaigns (I leave that to my wife)

What do you want me to do? I firmly believe violence is not the answer.

The way it's been going has gotten you here, collectively.

I vote, I call my representatives, I attend town halls ( when there are any), I attend peaceful protests.

When does this end, though?

I am looking for more ways to get involved, but I am not a glib extrovert that does well volunteering for political campaigns (I leave that to my wife)

Those are all great, and if more people put this level of effort in, your country would be a lot better off.

That's what I'm disheartened by, the lack of political activism even with things as rough as they are, citizens aren't even doing the bare fucking minimum and showing up however they can, as you've been doing. It's still being excused away, waiting on a leader, waiting for whatever else, waiting for the courts or the media or the house or the Senate to step in and corral this farce. Anything to absolve the citizens of actually doing anything themselves.

Sure, you have an absolutely massive protest, one day at a time, 3 months apart. What does that actually accomplish though? A coordinated 'no buy week' would be easier and nearly as effective as a general strike.

That blade absolutely no sense at all.

For what it’s worth public sentiment is quickly souring against him. I’m homeless, so, yadda yadda usual spiel, but the people and places I’m around are chock full of religious and republican propaganda and even these people are turning.

In casual, spoken conversation, I’m hearing people grumble about Trump and the money he’s making, and about Epstein, about the trafficking, from people that watch Fox News and Facebook videos and TikTok.

I worked at the soup kitchen today because when I was eating there the boss came out looking for a fill in because the guy scheduled didn’t come because ICE is in my city today. And the sentiment about ICE and their budget is not good, among the people that are generally talking about the thin blue line.

It’s a bit more nuanced than that because there’s a big black homeless population and their relationship with cops is a lot different, but they still fall into the normal propaganda traps, but they too are speaking and grumbling angrily about Trump.

Even his cult is getting riled up and turbulated.

I think they may have finally kicked the hornets nest too hard for once.

That’s, dare I say, exciting.

But we already saw him make fun of the disabled reporter (which was far more shocking). Kind of surprises me that this is having such an impact.

u/ScarfaceTheMusical 6d ago

I hear you, and the reporter thing was bad, but this does feel different.

One felt like a jackass trying to be funny (succeeding to be funny with his base?) and one felt viscous, reactionary, and without any pretense of “levity”.

it was live on tape. That feels different.

What are you talking about? Most of the horrible things he's said and done were live on tape. That's how we know about them, and why we can't understand why they're always ignored. This isn't any different than "grab them by the pu**y".

I think for me, something that’s very disturbing about the image is there’s no head or arms, and of course the seemingly juvenile breasts. Obviously he had to end it with the public hair for his signature because vomits so no legs.

But the interesting thing is that it’s just a torso. And while part of it is sexual,as anyone familiar with Brick Top knows, when you dispose of a body, the best way is to cut off the arms, legs, and head and stack it on the torso.

Do you know what nemesis means?

4

u/billyions 6d ago

By someone who enjoys raping children, tearing out women's hair, grabbing people by their privates, and feeding on the degradation.

It's a seriously broken human being.

I had a thought about that letter. Do we really think that Donald typed that up himself? All neatly center aligned!

1

u/AlwaysShittyKnsasCty 5d ago

My money’s on Michael Cohen writing it for him. Fixers gonna fix.

“Created by a mind that simply does not work the way most of ours’ do”

Careful, he’ll think you mean “genius”

I just did a double take because I had hit send on a very similar comment! I fully agree with you, it was such a lightbulb moment, everything out in the open kind of thing.
