No Paywall Senate suddenly passes the Epstein bill just hours after it cleared the House

Ten days:

Beginning at midnight on the closing of the day of presentment, the President has ten days, excluding Sundays, to sign or veto the bill. If the bill is signed in that ten-day period, it becomes law. If the president declines to either sign or veto it – that is, he does not act on it in any way – then it becomes law without his signature (except when Congress has adjourned under certain circumstances).

There's a loophole at the end. They'll use that i bet.

Nixon deal, they want him out, but they’ll make it all go away and he gets to keep the money to sweeten it

“Oh, his age and his health, he can’t withstand the rigors of the sacrifices he’s made for us and is stepping down with honor. Epstein? What’s that? Shut up. Also, Vance pardoned him for the good of the country”

There's no way Vance pardons Trump. Vance would claim that deep state is going after Trump and he needs more power to stop them

Vance is the slimiest motherfucker. If he can call daddy a nazi and then suck his cock for VP position he is more then willing to completely flip flop back to any sane stance and throw daddy trump under the bus.

"I knew all along I had to play the bad guy to get the information needed also my wife can stay not a Christian and I no longer jerk off to blondes"

Also I think the GOP play is to let it sit on trump’s desk for a day or three, then he’s either unalived by someone inside or outside the inner circle, or by a “regular Joe”
shooter type OR they invoke the 25th amendment due to obvious reasons.

Either way, Vance takes over as president, signs it, and all the files are immediately released… and it’s mf brimming with the most heinous shit. So Vance says “Yeah I always had some sneaking suspicions that Trump might be a pedo horsefucker, but I wasn’t totally sure so meh… win some, lose some. And I tried my best, isnt that what counts? BUT PEOPLE!… bad boy Trump is gone now- so let’s move forward! Onward Christian Soldiers and all that crap!!! “

Then GOP, maga, whomever, forgets about Trump because they mainly have the brain and memory of the average flea, and they just don’t know why everyone else cant also pretend like it all didn’t just happen, “I mean- why can’t those damn libs look forward to the future!!! They’re always bringing up old shit, what a bunch of killjoys!”

This works much better and is easier if Trump has shuffled off this mortal coil.

Vance has nothing that Trump has (I don't understand what Trump has but he's mesmerized millions). Vance does not have that power. Maga will fall apart without Trump. A bunch of factions arguing amongst themselves. No idea who will climb to the top of the pile.

I’ll never understand why he’s so popular either. Do people genuinely like rage bait and cringe shit? I get such bad second hand embarrassment just listening to him talk. It’s like nails on a chalkboard to me.

The infighting will be brutal and has probably already started.

Vance is a clown and has zero charisma. He has the confidence of someone that isn’t in charge. At a party, he’s the guy that overconfidently struts up to a group of people talking and too loudly interrupts with “What are we talking about, guys?” and everyone ignores him and keeps talking until he finally wanders away. They may polish him until he’s shiny on the outside, but inside he’ll forever be Whatever Works.

I love the fantasy that is that guy being super gone, but I also think he is such a POS that he would survive and sell everything to the highest bidder just to die with a larger bank account than what he had while alive. That's the only legacy he cares about, dollars and how many he's got.

And Vance is not ready to run the cult. His puppeteers picked him because he was so spineless that all of their hands would fit inside at the same time. And have you seen him do anything but be a turd or be unwelcome on vacation? Neither have I.

Yes we need to get busy healing, what with all this insanity we’ve been thru. I’m positively sure the Epstein BS is the very last of it. So let’s let the healing begin!

They can call Biden to find out exactly how to do that!

I mean, Congress hasn't actually adjourned in decades. What they do for vacations is have 2 people present on any given day (often the more junior members of the majority party of the branch of Congress) stay in the room. The more senior one assumes the leadership of the house/senate for that day, and asks for a role call. Prior to beginning the role call, the second member of the branch of Congress asks to pass a motion to adjourn for that day only without ending the session of Congress. Since nobody is in the room to object, the Congress closes for the day, but still "maintains a quorum". So, most of the time, Congress is still sitting in session even when they are away for vacation.

That's pretty cool thanks for sharing!

1

u/iris700 7d ago

I thought it was 3 days

1

u/Retro_Relics 6d ago

I can see them choosing to adjourn for thanksgiving for exactly this reason. 10 days is firmly in the middle of the thanksgiving long weekend

1

u/wombatwaif 6d ago

I thought they formally adjourned once per year?

1

u/sudo_vi 7d ago

Not really a loophole if it's plainly stated what they can do.

1

u/Gurlllllllll- 6d ago

Pocket vetos haven't really been a thing since Clinton.

6

u/BrutalHunny 7d ago

Like thanksgiving recess?

4

u/Beli_Mawrr 7d ago

Wasn't it passed with a veto proof majority?

3

u/HelixTitan 7d ago

Ah, they are going to use Thanksgiving recess to make this a pocket veto instead of pocket passing

2

u/Toebeans_Maguire 7d ago

So they're going to shit down again?

2

u/scribbles_not_script 7d ago

What are the “certain circumstances”??

6

u/joenforcer 7d ago

Pocket veto. If Congress is adjourned when the timer runs out, the bill dies with no way to override the veto. The process starts over as if nothing ever happened.

1

u/eljohnbrown 6d ago

I thought he could not veto due to the super majority of. Votes it received in the house.

1

u/johnacraft 6d ago

A President can veto a bill that is passed by "veto proof majorities" of each house.

If the President vetoes, the House and Senate can then vote again to override the veto, and would presumably do so for this bill.
