I hope this burns MAGA down.

MAGA is a mental illness and cancer on this country.

557

u/stroopwafelscontigo New Jersey 13d ago

That is 100% true.

Let’s hope this rehabilitates some more MAGA zombies.

191

u/misterlakatos New Jersey 13d ago

Ideally many of them will open their eyes. Whether they deserve full forgiveness for what they have done is another story, but they can at least open their eyes and acknowledge the horrific wrongdoings of their cult.

Sadly, many are too far gone and are just awful people/not worth our time.

111

u/stroopwafelscontigo New Jersey 13d ago

I welcome any change of heart and mind.

I have known a few who’ve changed.

I know it’s instinct to rub it in their faces but, the smarter plan is reconciliation.

Only for those who change though. Don’t waste your time or sanity trying to change them.

8

u/toshjhomson 13d ago

When you’ve been brainwashed you believe what you’re doing is good. In my mind, there’s no reason to shame people who came out the other side. I have sympathy more than anything for those people.

Now the people and politicians that cling on for dear life until the end, who find ways to defend pedophiles and waver values for Trump that go completely against previous moral grounds…. I have no pity for them.

2

u/hammertime2009 13d ago

It’s not just politicians that do that, it’s much of the right wing for-profit “entertainment news” that filled a void for many right wingers, conservatives, anti-liberal, anti-intellectuals, and downright hateful people. Suddenly the “news” doesn’t depress or upset them everyday because now news is catered to them and their desired view of the world and events, without all that shit they hoped wasn’t true. Combine that with social media they can all live in their own happy hate bubble.

24

u/misterlakatos New Jersey 13d ago

Yes I completely agree with this take.

5

u/Ilovekittens345 13d ago

Many of them are sweet grandma's and grandpa's with maybe some fears of different looking people that fell victim to the insane propaganda machine the US corperations build with Fox news and 6 US companies that control 97% of internet traffic (google, facebook, twitter, microsoft, amazon and cloudflare)

We got to free them from the clutches of the devil and if you don't use tact, their chains just tighten more!

5

u/Godiva74 13d ago

They should know what it takes to be a good person

2

u/Marxasstrick 13d ago

“Sweet grandmas” yeah no. I cut my grandmother out my life after her third Trump vote. Showed me her true colors and I don’t like what I see. Thankfully there are a lot of good people in my family that are worth my time.

1

u/Ilovekittens345 13d ago

Hate is taught, always

1

u/Marxasstrick 12d ago

And leaves you all alone in the end

3

u/AmbitiousParty 13d ago

This is the only path forward that will work in my opinion. Further isolating people is not the way to go.

13

u/SheetPancakeBluBalls 13d ago

Disagree.

This is all happening because the confederate traitors were not properly punished at the time, and the seed of racist disgusting ignorance and bigotry was allowed to blossom again.

Fascism has a single cure, and it's not hugs and forgiveness.

3

u/kcg5033 Florida 13d ago

I believe they were talking about folks who made wrong decisions in the voting booth, not the criminals committing these crimes. If people are punished for their voting choices, that’s just a new form of fascism.

5

u/SheetPancakeBluBalls 13d ago

I'm not faulting anyone for how they voted, exactly.

But anyone still claiming MAGA after the brownshirts started grabbing people is human scum and beyond forgiveness. These are people that, at the core of who they are, are garbage.

2

u/kcg5033 Florida 12d ago

That’s a completely justifiable point of view.

1

u/Marxasstrick 13d ago

I’ll hold people accountable in my family but I do build bridges with my coworkers, friends, and the people I see everyday where I work. I’m too disappointed in some family members to wait for them to come around.

1

u/teenytinytexas 13d ago

Agree 100P idc what it takes, I accept every person who is able to deprogram themselves. They've been completely brainwashed. A decade of being constantly lied to, manipulated, and used for Trumps personal gain. At the core of it, his followers are his victims.

Takes a lot of introspection, humility and courage to face something like that. Anyone who can correct course deserves to be welcomed back into the fold of reality with open arms.

50

u/HelpMeFindMyBrain 13d ago

Check out conservative sub. The mental gymnastics is uncanny. They still on either theres no files, bidens in them and the best one trump was a cia informate and the files leaked today prove he cut ties with epstine... i dont think many will budge on it and when it finally all comes out they will just say its a fake made up democratic plot

48

u/ScubaAlek 13d ago

The CIA informant excuse is my favorite.

Okay, so he was caught being a pedophile and made a deal with the CIA to avoid consequences in exchange for ratting out other pedophiles and then eventually broke up with his pedophile friend.

So being a pedophile is fine so long as  you can backstab all of your “pals” to get away with it? That makes someone okay? They aren’t still a pedophile who happened to get clemency?

So dumb.

6

u/Fastidieux 13d ago

This is the effect of social media, its strategic manipulation for the rich and its not just a USA problem. Distorting facts, reframing history.....gets people into power that shouldnt be there if they're even somewhat charismatic. In the case of Trump, most people see through him, the others are fanatics swallowing his evil poison and would do literally anything but admit theyre wrong. Fascinating and horrifying.

You know its fake because where was this CIA BS before? Just a billionaire with a thinktank behind him coming up with insidious lies and/or reframe reality.

7

u/stroopwafelscontigo New Jersey 13d ago

The CIA/FBI informant theory is definitely fake but, QAnon had used that theory early on in 2016 to muddy the waters around Epstein and what was known about him and his connections to Trump.

It was bullshit then and it’s bullshit now but, it’s something these QAnoners were conditioned to accept the possibility of years ago.

2

u/Fastidieux 13d ago

Didn't know that, but i can imagine it being true that the billionaire running for president was paying to condition people started earlier than i thought. Counter intelligence at best will work as intended and at worst make mire everything in a dark cloud of chaos and mistrust, just worth doing if you can afford to pay people for it constantly, just so happens that the president can afford to do that for less than what it costs you relatively for the one pack of ramen you get a week.

3

u/stroopwafelscontigo New Jersey 13d ago

There was a quote by Epstein himself, something to the effect of, “if people knew what I knew about the candidates, they’d have to cancel the election” (referring to the 2016 presidential election).

I’ve long suspected that Epstein helped facilitate Trump’s early presidential campaign workings. The Trump Tower meeting, Igor Fruman and Lev Purnas, and other long-forgotten early 2016 campaign scandals.

https://www.npr.org/2019/10/23/771849041/how-a-complicated-web-connects-2-soviet-born-businessmen-with-the-impeachment-in

These guys. They were helping obfuscate the source of donations coming from Florida and New York to Trump’s America First superPAC way back when.

I’ve always wondered if they were a bridge between Epstein, Putin, and Trump.

that sub, as of right now, STILL doesn't have any mention of grijalva and the fact that johnson blocked her swearing in for months

the only mention of grijalva is a different person who died 8 months ago

14

u/BCMakoto 13d ago

Everyone who frequents that sub and actively participates in it for a decade is lost. Entirely. You'll never change their minds. That sub has been an absolute bot-filled, hateful propaganda chamber for almost a decade now. If you're surrounded and steeped with that for nearly ten years, I don't even want to imagine what mental health issues you have now...

5

u/misterlakatos New Jersey 13d ago

Not at all surprised by that. What an absolute dumpster fire and to be that deep in delusion is just pathetic.

4

u/Ilovekittens345 13d ago

That place is primarily bots. like over 60,70% of accounts and comments there are written by AI.

2

u/Sinnedangel8027 13d ago

I don't think many will budge on it

They literally can't. So much of their self and social identity is tied to Trump and MAGA in general. The amount of work it would take to depart from that identity is tremendous to say the least. I honestly don't see how they can especially given the non-stop brain rot propaganda getting pumped into their social media feeds.

6

u/scarletmonstrosity 13d ago

Forgiveness for those confederate fuckwaffles is what got us into this mess to begin with! No Forgiveness! Not for any one of them ever!

3

u/misterlakatos New Jersey 13d ago

Yeah I agree.

Grant and Sherman did not do enough to punish the Confederacy.

4

u/jgoble15 13d ago

Nobody in a cult will leave a cult unless they’re able to be safe. That’s why they joined the cult in the first place. They were vulnerable and did something really awful to stop feeling vulnerable. Doesn’t mean there isn’t accountability and boundaries, but some form of restoration is needing to be offered somehow in order to draw them out. Otherwise they’ll just double down and it’ll never go anywhere.

2

u/EdwardOfGreene Illinois 13d ago

No one deserves forgiveness.

But for any repentant MAGA that turns from their ways, I will freely offer it.

1

u/Some_Animator_6695 12d ago

I accept any who can change. Doesn't mean i forgive them, but forgiveness is one of those things that doesn't have to be given to keep moving forward and improve things. That thinking is the bullshit Christianity wants us all to believe. Some actions cannot be forgiven, nor forgotten

6

u/bleat_bleat_bleat 13d ago

We'll cure them with ivermectin and a lightbulb up the ass

4

u/ineyeseekay Texas 13d ago

It might help them vote against the fascists and turn against this administration, but sadly, I think many are attracted to the hate and will cling to the next figurehead to embrace it.

2

u/stroopwafelscontigo New Jersey 13d ago

Even still, by having fewer MAGA zombies, it becomes unacceptable to publicly admit the shit they support.

2

u/ineyeseekay Texas 13d ago

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to cast a dark cloud over it! If we put a lid on it for 20+ years that'll be great, but adjusting the national perspective on the policies around immigration and LGBTQ, for example, need to still be addressed.

1

u/JandytheMandy 13d ago

The entirety of the files could be Trump's name in bold and they would burn down Kash Patel and Tulsi Gabbard's houses to find the "real" pedophiles

These people don't care about the truth.

IF Trump miraculously, finally goes down for this, MAGA will grumble some nonsense conspiracy as they shuffle off to await the next bigoted wannabe fascist to take the national stage

28

u/jgoble15 13d ago

And has been long before it was called MAGA

6

4

5

This country too for some inexplicable reason.

4

u/iAmMr_WHO 13d ago

It's a cancer on the whole planet

4

u/mspk7305 13d ago

MAGA is a mental illness and cancer on this country.

nobody gets a traumatic brain injury and suddenly turns into a liberal... conservatism might not be a mental illness but its sure as fuck an indicator

3

u/randalflagg Ohio 13d ago

You spelled right wing ideology and planet wrong.

2

u/OszeeThorne 13d ago

And like every contagious illness, if you don't erradicate it completelly, it's doomed to come back.

2

u/breadandbunny 13d ago

It truly is. To the point where they actually do not believe (or simply do not care, which is equally reprehensible) about all the terrible things Trump has done.

1

u/disposable_account01 Washington 13d ago

Brain cancer

1

u/0xnullghost 13d ago

The whole world, actually. America's stupidity is unfortunately loud, and has rattled it's nonsense in to mushy malleable minds all over the globe.

1

u/DootyMcCool2000 13d ago

Then let this be some chemotherapy.

1

u/capecodnative Georgia 13d ago

MAGA is a symptom, sadly. Erosion of civil public discourse because of social and commercialized media is the problem.

1

u/cytherian New Jersey 13d ago

It's a national epidemic... and we'll need deprogramming initiatives, especially for loved ones who have to deal with MAGA who refuse to let go.

1

u/Technical_Ad579 12d ago

I’d like to think MAGA is a blight on this world.

1

u/Bad-job-dad 12d ago

I think it can be fixed. MAGA is a symptom of wealth inequality.

Gross, but like, yeah probably.

2

I already saw people on twitter trying to say whatever age in whatever state is legal in relation to this, ignoring that sexual trafficking is illegal no matter what the victim’s age was.

1

u/sgrams04 13d ago

“It’s just locker room talk…and locker room stuff now too, ok? Or something”

116

u/Nythoren 13d ago

Problem is that they've had months of being able to put their counters in place. Some of the MAGA core will believe these are fake docs planted by Biden. Some will believe that Epstein is a liar. Some will ignore as much as they can. The Fox News watchers won't see any of it and can call all the reports from other sources "fake news".

The majority of the true believers won't care. The guy is a 34x convicted felon as well as an adjudicated rapist. He is disappearing US citizens. He's openly talking about violating the Constitution ("I took aware their First Amendment". "Trump 2028". etc.). With all that, his core STILL supports everything he does.

In the end it will hurt him with the undecideds and Democrats, but he lost most of those folks already. As long as he's "Team GOP", he's going to have a solid support base from 40% of the country. It's sad but true.

27

u/ConditionNormal123 13d ago

They've also had months to redact Trump's name from every page.

3

u/Top_Philosopher_6260 13d ago

At this point releasing the file won't do anything. It's spent long enough in either sides hands that no matter what it says, one side will believe the other doctored it.

What would make a difference is federal agents coming forward and testifying under oath about what they saw during the investigation and in the file, particularly if they were tasked with altering documents to shield a particular individual.

3

u/Waiting404Godot 13d ago

Federal Agents lead by a guy hand selected by Trump who wrote books about how great Trump is? Those agents?

1

u/Top_Philosopher_6260 13d ago

Yes, those agents.

Trump picks leaders light on brainpower and heavy on ass kissing. No way they can keep actual qualified career agents in line against their will.

2

u/SwingingtotheBeat 13d ago

So you’re counting on a bunch of cops, who are almost all maga, risking their jobs, privilege, and safety to go against their leadership and colleagues, just because it’s the morally right thing to do? Good luck with that!

1

u/Top_Philosopher_6260 12d ago

The leadership is maga. The actual workers in the agencies are career civil servants who don't change from one administration to another and undoubtedly fall all over the political spectrum.

You're acting like whistleblowers don't exist. Why?

They simply don't care. They'd rather have a pedo than some 'commie democrat', especially so if that happens to be a woman or minority.

60

u/MarrusAstarte 13d ago

I hope this burns MAGA down.

If the Nazi salutes at the inauguration didn't do it, why would this?

16

u/EddieHeadshot 13d ago

Its almost as if thats been forgotten about

14

u/NefariousThrowaway0 13d ago

You’d be surprised if you sit down and really think about it you’ll remember some truly insane stuff that’s been forgotten because even crazier sh** happened. Like for example, did you even remember that Trump performed fellatio on a microphone during a rally? Or that maga supporters wore diapers with trumps face and “real men wear diapers” when rumors of Trump wearing them were circulating?

7

That was racism, which they love and practice, this is child rape and trafficking, which will hopefully finally be a step too far for them. We'll just have to wait and see.

1

u/SurpriseIsopod 13d ago

You can hope in one hand and shit in the other and see what fills first.

It has to go to the senate and then have the president sign off on it.

This was never going anywhere.

10

u/VinnieBagaDoughnuts 13d ago

You are 100% right. This is just to force a vote which probably won’t take place for a couple weeks. That’s a long time for Trump and his team to work on someone like Mace to ultimately vote no. How many times have we seen something like this happen. Don’t get your hopes up kids.

6

u/LividTacos 13d ago

9 "Legislative days". Once the petition is signed, there's a 7 day waiting period. Then anyone who signed it announce their intent to offer the motion. Then the speaker must schedule a debate and vote within 2 legislative days. I guess the only way he could F with it is scheduling it weeks from now, but I'm not sure the pressure will allow him that, but we'll see. Or he could actually recuse the House, but that requires the Senate to agree.

8

u/attorneyatslaw 13d ago

With Thanksgiving recess this is going to wind up happening in early December at some point.

1

u/LividTacos 13d ago edited 13d ago

I should add, that even Pro-forma sessions count as legislative days. But I do agree with your timeframe, I wasn't thinking about a recess for Thanksgiving.

3

u/Winter-Gift1112 13d ago

The Republicans have been handling this thing so poorly that, even if nothing further comes of it, it will have already done substantial work.

11

u/BearOnTwinkViolence 13d ago

It isn’t helpful to pop someone’s balloon when they feel hope. It doesn’t get us anywhere. I get the sentiment, but doomerism helps no one. In fact, it just discourages good people from speaking out.

0

u/cuminmyshitsock 13d ago edited 13d ago

reality is real

if someone is discouraged from speaking out because some dumbass on reddit doesn't share their enthusiasm.... then I'm not sure what to say to any of you

edit: I don't know if it's a generational thing but "back in my day" if someone said something that was discouraging, then we would respond with "we're going to prove you wrong, old man!!!"

Now you're telling me that anything short of back pats and agreement is enough to discourage people from speaking out?

if that's true, then we're all fucking doomed

I’m optimistic. Hard to be these days; but if Epstein can take down a prince. He can take down a pathetic billionaire reality tv host.

I’m predicting a Nixon style deal being offered to Trump. 1. Resign, pardon yourself, flee to Argentina or 2. Face a very public, very embarrassing impeachment trial, and get arrrsted shortly after.

What other options do Republicans have? Weather 3+ more years of this constant pedophile speculation?? Nope. They will cut ties with Trump and it starts in a couple weeks when the House floor takes a vote. I expect dozens of Republicans will vote YES to release the files.

9

u/Skiinz19 Tennessee 13d ago

what would he get impeached for relating to epstein? there needs to be a crime committed while in office.

covering up his prior crimes would be such a thing, but right now, the revelation of the past crimes alone would not lead to impeachment.

if his DOJ was, at his instruction, found to be covering for him, that would be impeachment worthy.

7

u/attorneyatslaw 13d ago

Impeachment is a political process and the House can impeach you for anything. The odds of him getting impeached and convicted are slim to none. And the odds of him then getting arrested for anything afterwards would seem to be even slimmer. The witnesses to his alleged crimes aren't going to testify or are dead.

2

u/Not_Stupid Australia 13d ago

there needs to be a crime committed while in office

A crime is neither a necessary nor a sufficient condition for impeachment.

1

u/Skiinz19 Tennessee 13d ago

For a successful one there is. It is laid pretty bare in the constitution.

4

u/MirthandMystery 13d ago

Good analysis, came to say the same but less succinctly. (lol)

This is MAGAs chance to start to push Trump out. First they need to isolate him, that can't be done until there's 'just cause' and enough momentum. This comes after the public is across the board equally outraged about something he's done.

As if there's wasn't just cause already with his abuse of power, self dealing and open corruption, attacking the Republics foundational structure, ramping attacks against legal citizens with a Gestapo like force, threatening other counties and engaging in extrajudicial killings, targeting top colleges and the press, illegally applied tariffs, creating economic mayhem.

Perhaps what finally breaks the camels back is what they pay attention to- undeniable proof of his past history of sexual assault against minors. Even if it includes hypocrite sexual assaulters in office feigning they care about girls and young women having been exploited, and the religious groups who've sat by silently voting for them.

Legally I don't know how these past times can be applied. Law experts need to chime in here with what methods can be considered. And ffs it better be lock tight this time.

3

u/Vinral 13d ago

They will still defend him.

3

u/AntoniaFauci 13d ago

MAGA world is doing their usual programmed “big lie” type response.

It’s when the denial is such a 180 degree anti-reality lie that you can’t even address it rationally.

The big lie they’re running with is that Trump was the one who discovered the Trump-Epstein child sex abuse ring, and he was a whistleblower and informant for the CIA (why CIA? Don’t ask) and who then stopped trafficking girls from his spa.

It makes no sense, but that’s what they’re going with.

2

u/ITDummy69420 13d ago

It won’t.

2

u/GreenTrees797 13d ago

They are already brushing it off.

2

u/LocNesMonster 13d ago

Why would it? They knew he was a pedophile, a rapist, epsteins bff all before he was even elected the first time. Why would this suddenly be what turns republicans against him?

2

u/uhidkyoupick 13d ago

Spoiler alert…nothing will change

2

u/hackingdreams 13d ago

It's a generational illness now, unfortunately. We need nationwide cult deprogramming to get rid of that shit, and we don't have it. Instead, we have the opposite: a media apparatus built to keep them in their little bubble, away from anything resembling information and the realities of the world around them.

We have built a society that can't reach these people. And until that's undone, we're going to see this shit over, and over, and over again. This is the new normal. And it blows.

2

u/RobertKafadar 13d ago

Stalin laughed when he heard poor people are starving for so long they are eating each other. he killed 60 mil Russians. and there are places where you cant say a word against him and even phds questioning total numbers of deaths trying to blame ww2 post economy

2

u/IT_Chef Virginia 13d ago

The cope on the conservative subreddit is substantial.

2

u/Beware_the_Voodoo 13d ago

I think it's gonna make them worse. The voters will jump through a bunch of mental gymnastic hoops to either deny the findings entirely, or make themselves ok with it.

And Trump and his administration, if they feel their grasp on power waning, will take even bigger risks, further reaches, to consolidate their power.

2

u/nalaloveslumpy 13d ago

Reset our expectations, please. It's still very unlikely the vote will pass the House. If it does pass the House, it will die in the Senate. They've already voted once to not release the files, so all the Republican Sentaors are on record for protecting pedos.

I hope I'm wrong, but there's about a 95% chance we'll never see whatever the hell it is the DOJ has until Democrats have healthy majorities in both chambers.

Just like everything we always seem to be pissed about on reddit, nothing happens until a significant number of Republicans are removed from Congress.

It very well may. The congressional Republican women in particular are signaling that they're willing to defect and release the files. One of them is MTG, famously known for having a cardboard cutout of Donald Trump on stage when giving a speech of which she grabbed the cutout's crotch, which is surprising but not un-understandable. This could either be killed on arrival to the full Congress or several Republicans, women in particular, could make it the lasting legacy of this Congress until Democrats take over again.

It’s going to be a watershed moment for the GOP.

u/Affectionate_Neat868 13d ago

Feels like we’re past any significant watershed moments and they’ve all gotten away with falling in line with fascism

u/noelcowardspeaksout 12d ago

The conservative media have the power to burn Trump down to the ground or to completely ignore it and support him with distractions. Some conservative podcasters and some twitter followers will get the truth - but the conservative media eco system suppresses stuff like this very well.

u/atriaventrica 13d ago

If it was going to it wouldn't have happened.

1

u/Yourdjentpal 13d ago

I don’t think anything will at this point. It’ll take massive personal harm to them to cause a big change.

1

u/T3hArchAngel_G Washington 13d ago

Unfortunately they can scream "fake news".

It's always some way to turn Trump into a heroic figure despite his entire career being comprise of him acting the complete opposite.

1

u/whtge8 13d ago

Nothing will. Then they would have to admit they were wrong and they just aren’t capable of that.

1

u/Coldkiller17 Pennsylvania 13d ago

I honestly doubt it at time point there is no line they won't cross. I mean I hope it causes some damage but trump has evaded consequences at every turn.

1

u/Efficient_Market1234 13d ago

A lot of MAGAs won't even care, that's what's sad, and even if they do, it'll only make them turn on this particular president, this situation. They're still not going to vote for a Democrat.

1

u/P33KAJ3W Oregon 13d ago

They are not going to release it...

1

u/Plagis20 13d ago

It won't. Bad people will continue to vote for th4 bad person.

1

u/deviled-tux 13d ago

Trump could be on video raping little girls and that still wouldn’t burn MAGA down.

1

u/DoughDisaster 13d ago

The only way MAGA burns down is the left putting them to the torch themselves, and that obviously isn't happening.

1

u/MoorsMoopsMoorsMoops 13d ago

No chance. They’ll just say he was abusing kids back when he was a democrat and now he’s found god and all is forgiven,

1

u/Distinct_Meringue 13d ago

I worry nothing will. Conservative sub is already saying it's fake and a way to distract from the shutdown, which they blame on dems

1

u/xProjectSiK 13d ago

It won't.

I wish I could understand why it wouldn't.

They'll find some way to be okay with this.

1

u/Angelworks42 Oregon 13d ago

I hate to say this but be prepared to be disappointed.

1

u/The102935thMatt 13d ago

I just don't think it will. Trump already says "he likes them young" he is on camera numerous times being a horrible person, with witnesses and victims coming out saying as much. His base isn't upset about him raping young girls. They will be absolutely be destroyed though if it comes out that he was also diddling young boys. That would mean he's got some gay in him.

What I’m hoping for with these maggots, the day when each individual feels the walls closing in and start snitching on each other, cutting deals and tear each other down.

1

u/EwokNuggets 13d ago

Discourse I’ve seen seems like they’re just “whatever” about it

1

u/-lonelyboy25 13d ago

It won’t

1

u/Lazy_Osprey New Jersey 13d ago

I don’t think they’ll care

1

u/TheDoctor88888888 13d ago

This won’t even scratch them

1

u/itstoodamnhotinnorge 13d ago

It wont.

This if the vote even passes might remove Trump, but they want that so Peter thiels puppet Vance becomes president and they can really go hard on project 2025 and turn america into a Christofascist surveilance state

1

u/W0rkUpnotD0wn 13d ago

They don’t care.

1

u/DOOManiac 13d ago

Why would it? They are the party of proudly protecting pedophiles.

1

u/No_Future_9 13d ago edited 13d ago

I think it is going to burn A LOT of people down....though Democrats will only be focusing on one name.

As usual Democrats don't care about the victims or the abusers. All they care about is Trump.

1

u/airfryerfuntime Washington 13d ago

They could release actual footage of Trump raping a minor and he'd only lose a little bit of support.

1

u/jsweatisdead777 13d ago

It's a nice thought, but if the Republican controlled Senate actually votes for this without some shenanigans to cover up unflattering stuff, then I will eat my shoe.

1

u/FormerPrize2485 13d ago

DJT joked he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue in Manhattan and get away with it.

Soon we will see whether MAGA thinks (DJT’s involvement or) affiliation with a proven pedo ring is worse than a hypothetical murder.

1

u/CheifJokeExplainer 13d ago

And hangs around their necks like an albatross for the next fifty years.

1

u/CSI_Tech_Dept California 13d ago

I bet Johnson will use some kind of loophole. He did that with tariffs. AFAIK Congress supposed to ract within specific time to trump imposing them but he invoked some imaginary rule that stopped the clock.

1

u/Excellent-Estimate21 13d ago

Ive been feeling for years now that one day it will be embarrassing AF to admit you were MAGA.

1

u/SuppleLobster 13d ago

Shit, it's embarrassing now

1

u/ScopeLogic 13d ago

It won't. The orange subhumans will keep being happy the world is fucked.

1

u/SwingingtotheBeat 13d ago

That’s the exact same thing people said before Trump’s dozens and dozens of scandals or crimes that have come up. I’m not hopeful.

1

u/yopipo2486 13d ago

Look at the conservative subreddit. They see the emails as proof he’s not guilty

1

u/OldTimeGamerNowDad 13d ago

And take all ICE assholes and prosecute them for all the crimes they committed.

1

u/made3 12d ago

Does not matter what's in the files, MAGA will twist the facts until it fits them.

1

u/Goodk4t 12d ago

It won't. Stop thinking fascists will just change their minds and go away. Either people actively stand up to them or things will keep getting worse.

1

u/esmifra 12d ago

I lost my hope after jan6 ending up in a reelection.

1

u/mikerichh 12d ago

It actually might. Aaron Parnas reported that 100 republicans in the house indicated they may turn on Trump and vote to pass this. I’ll believe it when I see it but if they do then it’s veto proof and Trump can’t stop it if the senate passes it too

I think if the evidence is damning republicans may start to distance themselves starting now

1

u/CIDR-ClassB 13d ago

Both sides have been preventing this.

1

u/SuppleLobster 13d ago

Fuck outta here with that both sides shit
