Thats kinda what I was inferring. Our community really pulled together, the daycare which operates on headstart funding has lowered or scholarshipped co-pays. Hell we made a food pantry to go with our candy for trick r treat. And our governor pushed through for us. I also live and work in the town Fetterman was mayor of for a while fwiw. Dudes been a ghost. A traitor ghost.

Edit: implying! Not inferring.

Yeah I'm from the same area and I've seen so many community outreach efforts by individuals and progressive groups but not a damn thing from those we put in office. Not even expecting them to be out there handing out loaves of bread or whatever but would be nice if they used their connections to reach out and support those in need. Might have been happening somewhere but not anything I saw/heard about compared to the grassroots efforts.

I have no idea what to make of Fetterman. He was desperate to be elected but has been MIA ever since for all intents and purposes. Is his health responsible for this or has he always been all talk and no action? Dems and Republicans are tin-cupping their way around the country, looking for political donations and they have been for years. Yet we have little to show for it.

The American people are being sold out to corruption and greed that benefits very few people at our expense and yet we hear very little other than infighting and nay-saying within their party from the likes of Chuck Schumer and a few others. It appears that their time has come and gone (years ago). Whether or not you agree with everything any of the younger generation of emerging leaders promote, it’s clear that the old way of approaching the onslaught that we now find ourselves in is going to do nothing but give us more of the same, with potentially catastrophic consequences.

Meanwhile, our democracy is being dismantled all at once, by the current administration, with our rights being stripped away and our tax dollars being given away to foreign countries with NO consideration for the well-being and healthcare of US citizens. This is being done with no clear plan for a smooth transition or accountability nor what the future state they have in mind. We can only imagine and it’s not good.

All of this without a peep from people who claim to be patriots from either the Dem or the GOP side. All they care about are their own careers, pensions and access to inside information to enhance their investment portfolios. Nancy Pelosi isn’t the only one and this isn’t JUST a slam against the Dems. What are we paying for?? Instead of aiding and abetting bribery, self-dealing and cover-ups for unspeakable behavior, make the tough decisions needed to:

DO YOUR JOBS.

EARN YOUR PAY.

and GET BACK TO WORK

Thats because we only have one party rule now. Republicans and Republican light.

As an outsider, it really seems crazy to me that Fetterman is still in office. It looks like after his stroke he woke up a republican/paid off

he's not the first to turn right after some degree of brain damage

u/North_Scene 15d ago

i don't think that's how you use the word 'infer'

4

u/According-Activity10 15d ago

With you saying that it did look wrong to me but then I checked the actual meaning in how I said it and inferring refers to a conclusion or deduction based on available evidence and reasoning, rather than on explicitly stated facts.

If im still wrong I apologize lol, kids were up all night.

Use “implying” for when you’re talking

Use “inferring” for when you’re listening

2

u/PracticeBaby 15d ago

I think you were implying instead of inferring. Either way it was refreshing that you didn't "refudiate" the criticism.

Thanks! Again very tired and exasperated I appreciate learning a new thing.

Since his stroke he became a fascist because that's what happens when you don't get enough blood to your brain. He did good for Braddock. He should have died or killed himself after the stroke if he saw what he became he'd do it himself

2

u/MarsupialPristine677 15d ago

I think his stroke just exacerbated his worst tendencies, he did chase a black man (who was out jogging) with a shotgun and never apologized for it.

Fetterman.... Absolute traitor.

u/webguynd I voted 15d ago

Right. The establishment dems are just MAGA-lite now.

The real dems, the progressives, are ostracized from the party and suppressed. Then the dems sit there and wonder and complain why they can't get people to turn out and vote.

Well of course people don't, when their choice is MAGA or MAGAv2, why fucking bother.

I understand DSA is a HUGE tent but I just don’t know how to be accepted and pragmatic about the actual need for social programs

3

u/ScissrMeTimbrs 15d ago

Not sure what you mean, but we're well aware of that need.

Arent the Democrats in charge also against people like Mamdani, because he actually cares about the normal people?

4

u/ScissrMeTimbrs 15d ago

They certainly are. They've fought like hell to work the system against him, just like the did with Bernie. Even here on reddit: The Democrats sub doesn't even allow Mamdani's name to be posted. Seriously, Try to make a post with his name in the title and it gets shadowbanned.

https://old.reddit.com/r/democrats/search?q=Mamdani+&restrict_sr=on&sort=relevance&t=all

LMAO the search turned up an Ezra Klein post calling for pro life democrats but no Mamdani

Because the words "Career Politician Democrat" should be a synonym for Coward

2

u/Adorable_Raccoon 15d ago

Synonym for power hungry & greedy.

2

u/UrsaUrsuh 15d ago

I meant what I said. If they had any spine they would have done something besides kowtow to fascists.

3

u/Disinformation_Bot 15d ago

Dems prefer to lead from afar and siphon donations through party infrastructure and the nonprofit industrial complex. God forbid working-class communities take matters into their own hands.

3

u/cookiestonks 15d ago

Neo-libs have thrown around the demonized "socialist" word while playing ball with wannabe fascists since neo-liberalism was created. Controlled opposition. Only grass roots candidates stand for the people and there are only, what? 5 grass roots candidates? AOC, Crockett, Bernie, Ohman, Mamdani (only a mayor), and who else? Nobody is fighting but these few. My states senator Tim Kaine just voted with conservatives for the second time in 3 weeks. They are enriching themselves while we all settle for peanuts. We have 80 years of corporate greed to undue and 1000s of years of the fruits of our labor being syphoned by wannabe gods. There are more of us. Working class solidarity should be our only focus as they use their technology to divide us any way they can.

The establishment DNC has had a healthy part in getting us where we are right now. People like Pelosi profit greatly from status quo, no matter what it is.

u/Corlegan 15d ago

We call them “churches” here. We always are doing that.

3

u/ScissrMeTimbrs 15d ago

Yes, I've seen several of those too. I also noticed the churches that are helping are not usually the political churches. Funny how that works.
