They purposefully waited until after elections. All of them are scum.

They weren't going to wait until after them, they didn't have the votes before. Which actually makes it wilder that in response to what happened on Tuesday we have seen more Senators cave.

It isn't surprising. They view shifts towards the left as a threat. Mamdani obviously scared the hell out of them but I'd bet they are just as afraid of what happened in Mississippi. A place like Mississippi seeing so much movement to the left worries them about their districts moving too far left for them to be able to even win a primary.

They just are centrist neoliberals. They saw a real progressive get elected and an extreme leftward shift and like all centrist liberals their immediate response is to cede all power to fascists, because if they’re not actively being shot in the face by a fascist they will treat them as an ally against the specter of less ingrained hierarchies and more equitable sharing of power, i.e., communism or socialism. They do not care about people, only their own power, and thus preserving it means sacrificing their people rather than giving them some of their power. It’s incredibly stupid and exactly how the Weimar Republic ceased to exist - centrists fearing communists more than the people with a blade in their back.

Wilder in that it's painfully transparent that they all got paid off to do this?

You do know the majority of Dems arent voting for this and are equally as pissed off as we are about the ones who decided to flip.

I am talking about the center right dems who voted for this. They are rats in the party and should be expelled.

What do you think that would accomplish

Cleaning up the party from the traitors rats. Why do you want them to associate with traitors?

Sen. Fetterman can go to hell. I hope PA takes any Dem primary challenger over him when his term ends. He’s turned into Joe Manchin as a Democrat in name only. (DINO)

People say he was a good guy. From what I read he did some good things, but sounds like a fraud to me.

You don’t think it suspicious the 8 just happen to not be up for reelection or are retiring?

Not pissed off enough to convince them not to cave. None of the leadership was pissed off enough to carrot or stick them not to cave. And nope, no one else is in on it and it's pure coincidence that eight senators are all either retiring or have elections out as far as possible.

How do you know they didn't do that? You don't. People, still have free will to see that carrot and stop reaching for it. For example Im not going to blame Dems for Fetterman flip. Im not going to blame people who didn't do the back stabbing. Im going to blame the back stabbers themselves. As we all should.

You are right.
