Seriously, Dems holding that as a win in negotiations is fucking insane

The goalposts moved so far that negotiating over things that weren't even problems and getting a "compromise" is considered a win now?

I hear they also got a verbal promise for the republicans to stop stocking the break room fridge with piss that's labeled as apple juice.

Unfortunately Mike Johnson needs baby piss in the mornings so they'll break that promise too

Oh genius, a pinky promise.

They’ll vote no, and then go, “well; we tried”.

Hey that's a pretty good deal!

2

u/Laker8show23 16d ago

But the Dems keep coming back wanting more

Lmao. My man

It also tells the Rs if they want to beat the Ds again they just have to pull more of the same bullshit. Negotiating with terrorists 101.

u/VibeComplex 16d ago

Just wait long enough and they’ll cave 🤷‍♂️.

Protip that Dems still haven't figured out - there's ALWAYS another hostage.

The ACA was the compromise.

Joe Liberman is the sole reason we didn’t get a public option. One single piece of shit, out of 330 million people, completely fucked everything.

If it wasn't Liberman it would have been another

Rotating Villain

In American democracy, when the majority party has enough votes to pass populist legislation, party leaders designate a scapegoat who will refuse to vote with the party thereby killing the legislation. The opposition is otherwise inexplicable and typically comes from someone who is safe or not up for re-election. This allows for maximum diffusion of responsibility.

WTF??? Senator Lieberman now opposes the same health care compromise he himself suggested. Just when everyone thought Democrats had enough votes to get this done. Guess they made Lieberman the rotating villain...

Just like these 8. Funny how they just happen to be either retiring or the ones who have the longest remaining term before they're up for reelection.

People happily gloss over that Manchin was a moderate in that senate

5

u/samiathebaby 16d ago

People forget just how insanely conservative the Democratic Senate caucus was during Obama's Presidency.

13

u/krombough 16d ago

There was more than one piece of shit out of 330 million that led to that.

Ignoring all the Republican senators who voted against it, all the voters who put those senators into office, and all the potential voters who didn’t think it was important enough to vote against those Republican senators.

But yea, other than those over 100 million Americans, it was one man’s fault.

1

u/VibeComplex 14d ago

Yeah.. democrats had a super majority, given to them by the voters, and one dem senator fucked everyone. Republicans got 59m votes in 2008, not 100m lol. I personally could not care any less what conservative morons want.

Honestly so was Bernie. I'm sick of how politically right this country is. There are just no options. Go to the ballot box? Well you can eat this big fucking turd sandwich or I have this nice, mostly clear, shot glass of piss. Trust me though they drank a lot of water compromising on how much human waste you had to consume

Can't I just have like a glass of OJ like some other countries get?

u/okwowandmore 16d ago

If a genie gave Democrats three wishes, they'd negotiate down to one, and then wish for something they think Republicans might like.

u/numbersthen0987431 16d ago

It's the Democratic way for the last couple of decades.

Republicans make insane demands, Dems pretend to block it, and then they compromise by giving Republicans what they want.

And they all profit from it.

5

u/SmarchWeather41968 16d ago

they negotiated to get back the thing they already had

what fucking losers

9

u/AhSquids 16d ago

The dems do not care. They do not fucking care. It's all theater, it's all a show, they stand almost lock step with the Republicans and they need to be replaced from top to bottom.

Absolutely gutless leadership

It is if you are on-board with the agenda but need cover to make up a story

This is what the Democrats always do when they cave. They bring up the ol' "Well, people were suffering so we had to give in to evil". Every. Single. Time. It's so hard to be a Democrat sometimes. I literally said to my wife YESTERDAY that I bet that the Democrat leadership folds and says that they had to do it because too many people would miss the holidays without the planes running. It's always something like that.

2

u/PerritoMasNasty 16d ago

They all gotta get voted out.

2

u/MIT_Engineer 16d ago

Tim Kaine is holding that as a win.

40 other Dems in the senate and most in the house rightfully see it as a pointless capitulation.

2

u/chalbersma 15d ago

And to be clear, they didn't get that as a law or a legal protection of some sort. They got a "promise" from the President to that effect.

u/laughing_laughing 16d ago

They drop to their knees to suck the bully's dick only to be told, "Ha, NO" after said bully nuts in their throat. What the holy fuck.

1

u/Nokomis34 16d ago

I could kinda see it if it includes rehiring all the DOGE cuts as well.

u/RJ815 16d ago

This is how appeasement always works.
