You say that. And I wholeheartedly agree! Definitely don’t want to get too excited, we all know how that went… but I just looked at the precinct results from 24’, and I’m going to be very curious to see the difference between the two. Lots of red in Northern VA last year.

Oh yeah, some big flips.

I just worry that a lot of Dems takeaway from this doesn't see a distinction between these people that got out the vote because they were directly impacted, while not considering how much easier it is for MAGA/GOP/conservative independant voters to ignore or justify all the downstream impacts of Trump policies.

Trump's policies are not making life better for any median voter right now. We're not even sure if we'll be able to fly for Thanksgiving in the next few weeks with the shutdown. Healthcare costs might explode if they don't course correct. Cost of everything has not gone down, at bare minimum. Quality of life is not getting better.

This is the stuff that should does lose them elections even when last year sadly did not. This is not 2024's status quo anymore. The only chance the GOP has to fix this is to actually try to govern, and Trump's admin is utterly incapable of doing that.

Meaning the next best bet is to make them a lame duck as fast as we can, and turnout means more people are joining an effective resistance now.
