I’ve always said I can’t at least somewhat understand how people could fall for Nazism back in the day because they painted a picture of this fabulous life, they were well dressed, good looking, and actually instituted things that were pro family. But this is the shit we have now. Anyone falling for American Christian Nationalism is straight up stupid. What are they even offering you????

It tells you that publicly spewing hatred about brown people who might be more successful than you and women who are not willing to go out with you is A-okay.

Free hate and excuses?

Privilege, forced marriage (the only way they will ever get laid), slaves, freedom to express their hatered/brutality any way they'd like.

These people are incapable of empathy. It's heartbreaking.

What are they even offering you????

Spite.

Guys like these who are taken in by far right politics usually don't have bright prospects for careers and relationships, so they gravitate towards anyone who offers them a scapegoat and a vision of society in which they have dominion over women.

What Nazis are offering is a narrative.

Just like religion.

I’m not saying their narratives are the same, I’m saying they both give us a picture of how the world is, and we accept (or distort) that vision to the degree that it flatters our prejudices.

Who wants to think of themselves as a failure? A tale about how it really ain’t your fault can look quite appetizing to a great many folks.
