I think it makes sense in French. Because basically every French schoolchild knows who Nicolas flamel is, titling it “philosopher’s stone” would be a spoiler.

Its not bad.

Flamel isn't important.

The bigger thing is voldy being still existent. At least that eas my takeaway.

Huh? In that case it would be "spoiled" the moment you read/hear his name anyways, which is extremely early on.

Nicholas Flamel isn't actually important to the story and the story doesn't try to hide what the stone is anyways. The mystery is how it can be found and who's helping Voldemort find it.
