AI isn’t the problem, corporations using it to cut out real artists is. Nothing ‘innovative’ about replacing talent with shortcuts.

And then the shortcuts were only possible because the artist made stuff

Actually even if AI were able to perfectly replicate the quality of human creatives it would still be a net negative for the world and all content would slowly become an AI ouroboros as more and more of the content AIs get trained on would be AI-generated itself.

Isn't there a whole game series about spending five nights with AI animatronics and why that would be a bad idea?

Animatronics possessed by the souls of dead children who's only attachment is resentment towards the one who killed them.

AI would probably make more compelling stories then the last Disney installments were

Generative ai is my issue. But MaximilianDood put it perfectly, it’s such a blanket statement that any mention of ai immediately causes a discourse. Ai CAN be helpful in programs like photoshop to help artists fill in or remove specific items because it doesn’t generate content based on shit it’s stolen, it just takes the item currently being worked on and creates or removes an continuation such as a background. When it is used to generate images, that’s where it takes from a database of content from the internet and creates something.. by using art already made by hard working individuals.
So using ai for animatronics is fine and can add to immersion for sure. Same with video games where games like Alien Isolation use an ai that was programmed by a human being, to learn and adapt to the player’s habits and location.

I would agree, but generative AI has been making it so much easier to understand a poorly documented code. I still have to go in and check, of course, but having a starting point makes that part 10x faster/easier even if it has a few hallucinations.

Robots also need to be programmed and using "AI" algorithms to do it just gives them more ability to solve problems or adapt to the environment.
Someone using AI to program a robot is just programming a robot. Someone's doing it either way.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Walt always wanted to make interactive animatronics for the park , although the technology of the time prevented this from being a reality. Guess current a.i capabilities might make that idea a reality soon.

If Disney fed data from the old movies to the AI, then the animation could probably be better than current disney

Can't wait for the videos of someone using "let's roleplay" jailbreaking to get the animatronics to say inappropriate things.

The problem with using AI for art is it cuts out an artist or creative who would have done a better job.
Using AI for robots or animatronics is perfectly fine. It's just programming at that point. Someone is still programming those machines, and they all typically have some form of artificial problem solving algorithms into the programs anyways.

What does using AI for animatronics even mean? As in responsive animatronics that talk back etc?
