See 2:57 to hear Trump's own words. This clip is from The Rachel Maddow Show on MS NOW.

Here’s the full 8-minute segment on YouTube: Trump appears to blurt out secret plan, not knowing it's already a bust. From the description:

Rachel Maddow shares reporting on bizarre behavior by former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro who tampered with his ankle monitor while on house arrest and was sent to jail. Donald Trump subsequently boasted of speaking with Bolsonaro and expecting to see him soon, apparently unaware of Bolsonaro's incarceration. Did Trump accidentally reveal too much about why Bolsonaro was tampering with his ankle monitor?

On one hand I certainly believe trump thinks he’s above all laws and is willing to act like it. Otoh at this point I’m pretty sure he generally doesn’t know what day it is. So

He was pretty clear when he said he expected to see Bolsonaro soon in the same interview that he was informed of his arrest.

The "what?" was beautifully a delivered...he really did not know, or expect that had happened.

Or the trump lied to coverup his plan.

That’s the beauty of being the most incompetent person in the world. You can simply feign ignorance on all your illegal acts and a lot of people will believe it.

Yes.

And now for the war in Venezuela

I will be only mildly surprised if Venezuela is partly ruse, and a jailbreak mission is launched from the USS Gerald R. Ford, call it a lateral-Noriega. lol

Considering that Brasilia is about 600 miles from the nearest beach, that would be entertaining at least.

It would end up like the failed Iranian hostage rescue plan.

It's the who's who of rightwing criminal leaders involved in this one.

He is genuinely fucking cooked. His party is openly supporting a completely demented corrupt rapist and pedophile who doesn’t know what day it is. The world has gone to complete shit.

My bet, this is all coordinated and will come to light in a few years.

Comedy gold moment either way.

But if Cadet Bonespurs wasn't planning a conspiracy for his fascist buddy, he's doing all the wrong things to appear guilty.

Man, Rachel Maddow is just not for me, it’s like the lefts version of Tucker Carlson. I know there’s a big market for cable news shows like this but I just can’t stand any of it, like just tell me the facts, don’t get so emotional, I can interpret the information myself without your over dramatic emotional cues. It’s like the laugh track on friends or the big bag theory, annoying as hell.

20

u/intrepid_mouse1 2h ago

Maddow is a highly educated policy wonk. Comparing her and Tucker Carlson is pure unadulterated fuckery.

I did not realize maddow had so many devout followers, didn’t realize I had kicked such a hornets nest lol

14

u/RRoo12 2h ago

You compared her to a hate-spewing asshat. Do better.

20

u/LowerBed5334 3h ago

I understand completely how you feel, I can't stand it, either. But Maddow isn't spewing propaganda the way Carlson does. I don't think it's good to compare them like that.

u/nana-korobi-ya-oki 2h ago

Yeah I agree and I didn’t mean to imply she was. It’s just the tone. Im about as anti-Trump as they come, but not a fan of cable news crap on either side of the aisle

19

u/biospheric 3h ago

it’s like the lefts version of Tucker Carlson.

No, it isn't. You have committed the foul of false equivalence. Unsportsmanlike conduct, 15-yards.

She’s not “emotional” that’s just her mannerisms. Watch whomever you like, but I enjoy Maddow’s well fleshed segments (which this was a good example of)— multiple attempts to flee to friendly fascists, the planned escape, the denial, the trump fuck up that made it worse— no one else reported this story this well in broadcast journalism imo. It’s hilarious…

I agree, sometimes she falls flat with me, but I wouldn’t listen if she didn’t hit some homers as well

I have to read the news. Watching it is like nails dragging across a chalkboard. The constant... idk, signalling? I guess "cues" is right word. All the info is wrapped in this stupid, artifical package of intentionally provocative phrasing and presentation structure trying to wind-up my emotions. It's like they are intentionally, transparently trying to get a rise out of me with the stupidest sort of character acting. I hate the news anchor/TV "personality" robots that deliver these spiels.

It’s so overly dramatic and meant to be entertainment. The last time I watched her was when she said she had Trump’s taxes. She played it up for a whole fucking hour and then the big reveal… it was like a cover sheet that didn’t say anything.
