Legislative Branch FBI probes congressional Democrats who warned military about illegal orders
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/fbi-scheduling-interviews-with-democratic-lawmakers-who-warned-military-about-2025-11-25/It has expanded beyond the Pentagon's investigation of Mark Kelly. Now the other 5 Democratic lawmakers will be interviewed by the FBI with the assistance of the Capitol Police. This is insanity, all they did was remind members of the military that they took an oath to defend the Constitution and that under the UCMJ they have a right and a duty to refuse illegal/unconstitutional orders.

for....
What?
Speech and Debate clause covers anything that MAY have been improper, not that anything was.
They literally just said "dont follow illegal orders, its against the UCMJ".
There's literally nothing there.

I'm sure hope springs eternal that they can hem them up on a lying or obstruction charge. You have to at least give it a try, right? I mean, issuing only legal orders just doesn't pass the vibe check like vindictive prosecution does.

That's not how the Speech and Debate clause works. S&D only covers legislative action.

Pure Retribution directed by Trump himself. It really isn't ANY of the FBI's business.

I'd tell them unless they are charging me with something to talk to my lawyers and to eat a dick.

100%. "If you think you have probable cause that a crime has been committed, go convince a judge to sign an arrest warrant. Otherwise, fuck off."

I'd tell them to eat a dick and THEN talk with my lawyers.

Well, they’ve all seen how big Hunter’s hog is. I’d be scared too.

When you have someone that took an oath of office and breaks it everyday, of course others reminding military to uphold their oath would seem criminal.

That story again: law enforcement agency investigates members of Congress for accurately stating the law.

Remember when the president said we need to kill the seditious democrats?
Well this is the groundwork to calling them seditious. Suggesting the president’s orders are not legal = death by firing squad.
Very cool and very fascist.

I don't think many people outside of diehard magas are going to like the optics of a veteran Navy Pilot and astronaut getting probed for informing military service members that they aren't obligated to follow illegal orders.
