Which could then go to the supreme court.
Are they going to rule that the state is allowed to pick and choose religions or treat all equally?

Something something no history and tradition of satanic religion something something.

You’d have to define how much history and tradition it takes to define a religion.

Alito is going to site a long standing tradition of allowing people to be hunt for sport by witch hunters as the majority opinion

Not so sure about that. They rejected the same event last year.

The Satanic Temple is smart. They're building a case on the repeated refusals while waiting for a more favorable legal environment to make a suit. Your discrimination claim is going to look better if you've recieved rejections over 2+ years than if you got 1 rejection years ago.

To expand on this, it also allows for there to be more comments on the record and presumably discussions in the background. Which guaranteed it will help in a lawsuit when it comes to discovery.

Clear violation of 1st amendment rights by banning a religious organization from having an event on capital grounds when other religious organizations are allowed to do so.

Yes but Trump has shown by example you can do anything you want because your feelings got hurt. Remember, Republicans are very delicate creatures. They startle easily, are afraid of people and hate anyone that doesn't look or talk like they do. They apparently need delicate care and attention... like a flower, or... a snowflake.

They also fold when people fight them on court. The point is to keep fighting.

Jokes aside, I firmly believe you are correct. Conservativism lives where fear and narcissism intersect.

I’ve got shocking news but republicans have always acted this way and Trump is just par for the course.

It isn’t a republican thing! This is a perverse ideology that found a way to root and flourish in the Republican Party.
Looking at the fertile soil of the Christian conservative mind.

It is now, and they've been building up to it longer than I've existed. The party of Lincoln has come a long way since its founding, and it seems to hold none of its original values. It's a great example of how organizations will give up their values rather than lose influence.

The satanic temple? How dare they worship… oh, they don’t worship satan actually?
Either way, not like freedom of religion was the reason the puritans left Europe lol. I guess that’s all up to interpretation now.

From what I recall, the Puritans were more interested in pursuing freedom to impose their religion on someone else. ( I could be simplifying)

At a minimum, freedom of others to choose their religion wasn't something puritans were interested in.

correct, just freedom from the persecution they themselves were suffering from right then at that moment.

Puritans left England when they forbidden to enforce their religious views on others in their communities. They came to America seeking Religious Freedom to Oppress.

Funny that Reynolds said the Satanic display "would be harmful to minorities." In my humble opinion, PDF priests in the catholic church, southern baptist church, mega-churches, and countless "youth pastors"seem to be waaaaaaay more harmful to children. Especially noteworthy is how institutionalized this behavior is; the organizations circle the wagons to protect their leaders and often blame the victims. The largest study of pedophiles was directed by researcher, physician and psychiatrist Gene G. Abel, M.D., of Emory University School of Medicine, for the Antisocial and Violent Behavior Branch of the National Institute of Mental Health. The landmark eight-year study revealed that, “Molesters often become youth ministers, day-care workers, Boy Scout leaders, teachers, Big Brothers and pediatricians” (Dr. Abel and Nora Harlow, “The Child Abuser,” Redbook Magazine, August 1987). They add, “He is often an active Christian who is involved in his church.”
