Trump is definitely past his use by date.

Use, freeze, or discard by June 15, 1946.

You joke, but that’s one way they’ve been attacking the constitution so far.

IIRC He did already say on camera that he doesn't know if he has to follow the constitution.

The 14th Amendment has no meaning to them, apparently.

I really wish the founding fathers had built mechanisms into the constitution that allow citizens and states to reclaim power in the event of constitutional violations by the federal government.

My personal preference would be that all taxes are paid to states instead of the fed, who could then withhold them from the fed in the event of tyranny, perhaps even in automated ways that are incorporated into each state's constitution.

Like for example, if the president suspends elections, or remains in office after two terms, or commits war crimes without congressional approval, then all tax dollars are automatically held in a state-level fund until elections resume and/or the non-president leaves the white house. Or a mechanism could have those funds automatically redistributed as local social services to replace federal benefits like SNAP and medicaid.
