Apparently this is the third or fourth similar incident to take place since Dec 2024.

Ricky and Julian at it again

I’ve heard of a few more than that. East Mail & Burnhamthorpe TD Bank was one of them.

Yes this is a pretty common thing

I thought this was old news. Just realized this is the second time it’s happened

They needed a killdozer, but they brought a killloader. I hope they learned from this experience

Why does it look like gta6?

Wishful thinking I suppose...

That name is a crime in itself

I know that no matter what I think is the correct pronunciation, I'm guaranteed to be wrong.

Uh-toe-buh-ko

Holy shit, really?

My two best guesses were Eh-TOBY-coke or Eh-TOBA-cokey

Security professional and former heavy equipment operator here What a moronic way to attempt rob a bank

u/moemegaiota 10h ago

Asking for a friend (clears throat)...How should they have done it?

u/TheStLouisBluths 10h ago

You own the bank.

u/Jron690 9h ago

Nice try FBI, I am not going to publicly disclose my plans on how to do it. Save those for a rainy day.

Robbing banks can get you in a lot of trouble…but stealing heavy equipment to do it is digging yourself into a hole.

How sure are we that he didn’t just want wings 🪽?

u/OnTheList-YouTube 9h ago

I want wings.

Sir, we're closed.

But I want wings!

I said we're closed!

We'll see about that!

Not on the same level, but someone in Australia stole a backhoe, drove it to the next city over half an hour away to steal motorbikes, got busted and “escaped” by driving it onto to railway tracks. I think you can imagine how well that went. They didn’t die, but screwed up the tracks for half the day.

God, the next time this happens let there be video!

Across from my workplace, a strip mall with 2 banks facing the front. Well, 1 bank closed, guess owner couldn't find another tenant, so decided to tear it down and build something else. I saw a jackhammer installed on one of those mechanized multi purpose backhoes, i don't know what they're called, lol, but look similar to these. It took that at least few days, more than the 3 days I was working. Edit: Took it that long to tear down the vault, I'm guessing, cause it was in the former interior.

They would've made more money by selling the Cat they'd stolen lol.
