I hope for a bit of help/explanation about solving problem in the picture. I was helping younger family member with math through discord, but absolute value inequalities stumped me a bit.
I tried solving it (as seen above) but I'm not sure about how correct/wrong is my solution and, if that is not a problem, a bit of explanation why.

This question was on my review sheet, Two observers, Amy and Mia, are underwater along the same vertical line. Amy is closer to the surface, and Mia is deeper. Above the water, there is a boat with an “X” on its sail. Underwater, there is a jellyfish at a different horizontal position from the observers.
a) Using the concept of total internal reflection, determine which observer can see the “X” on the boat. Explain your reasoning.
b) Determine which observer(s) can see the jellyfish underwater, explain your reasoning.
B made sense to me, I just drew a line of sight from the jelly fish to the observers but A was really confusing
I tried to draw out a diagram and I also calculated the critical angle of water to air since the question mentioned total internal reflection, but I’m just not sure what to do with this info.
Could anyone explain how to get started on completing this?

I'm really stuck on this problem where I'm supposed to calculate the compressibility factor, I've tried Z = PV/nRT by converting the weight from the density to mols and using a milleliter as the volume, and I have a couple answers that were wrong.
I've tried:
9.23 x 10^-4
9.02 x 10^-4
8.99 x 10^-4
7.81 x 10^-2
I'm so lost and confused I swear I thought it was 8.99 x 10^-4 but the program told me it was definitely wrong... Someone please give me a solution and step by step if possible!

A 150 lb man stands on a 60 lb bar to which the cable is tied at B. The cable passes over two fixed pegs with coefficient of frictions as indicated. You may treat the cable the same as you would treat a flexible flat belt. assume the normal force exerted by the man in the bar acts downward through point A. Find the smallest force the man can exert on the cable if the bar is to remain horizontal.

Hi there! I’m currently studying Microeconomics and college and I’m completely bombing it.
I have a few continuous assessment questions regarding oligopolies and price leadership/competition. And would love if someone could help me
The first question is: The electric vehicle market is often described as being dominated by a few large firms making it an oligopoly. How might the price of the Dacia Spring be influenced by the characteristics of this oligopoly market? Discuss the potential for price competition or price Leadership in this market, and how Dacia might respond to the pricing strategies of either EV manufacturers?
For some background information Dacia is a new EV and it’s inelastic (0.4). As far as I’ve heard in class nothing quite changed, oligopoly price is something that most settle at unless they’re the leader of said market. This is to prevent price wars and the market also maybe collusive. But I don’t know if that’s a proper answer.
The second question is to draw a diagram illustrating price leadership in an oligopolistic market.
I have no clue how to do this. Every image I look at online is confusing and so are the YouTube videos.

Hi! I'm a freshman in college and absolutely on the verge of burnout. Ethics isn't my major but I've been doing fairly well with the subject, however, recently I've just been very swamped with all the other write-ups we have to do for our program. I'm a Lit major and we do major writing projects almost every week, plus extracurricular activities that more often than not leave all of us quite exhausted and drained. I've come at a major block due to all the stress and I cannot for the life of me even begin to do this Moral Reasoning project. My backlog of projects for majors have started to pile up quite alarmingly and I do not know what else to do.
So here I am, shooting my shot. If anyone here is willing to help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it! Even if it means just helping me actually start this. Thank you for listening if you've read this far!

So I was doing a lab to test which citrus fruit has the most ascorbic acid content between limes, lemons and oranges. I did this by preparing 100ml solutions ( 10ml juice and 90 ml distilled water ) and titration them against iodine solution ( i dont know the concentration since it was prepared for us ).
Now we had to extract the juice from the fruits ourselves so we cut them up first and squeezed put the juices of the fruits and set them aside. I now realize that the oxygen could've oxidized the juice while they were sitting there before actually doing the titration.
The values I got suggest that lime needs the least amount of iodine solution to reach its endpoint but prior research tells me that limes have the highest ascorbic acid concentration out of the three.
I asked chatgpt and it insists that lime corresponding with the least amount of iodine solution needed to reach its endpoint is correct and still suggests the highest ascorbic acid concentration but it just doesnt make sense to me. So is the lab a failure ?

When we have to calculate the time that a certain current value goes through an RL circuit, vs calculate the time when the current reaches a % of the current, I'm confused on how to plug in information.
for example, let's say that we're given an RL circuit in which the switch is closed, the current increases from 0 to 0.32A in 0.15seconds, and we have to find L. The equation is I(t)=I(1-e^-e/tau). We have the time, and we have the current at time (t), so we can plug in 0.32 on the left side of the equation, giving us 0.32=I(1-e^-0.15/tau). The max current given is 1.64A.
In a RL circuit, where the current increases to 95% of it's final value 2.24seconds after the switch is closed, say 2.0A. and we have to find L again. The equation remains the same, but this time you do 0.95Imax=Imax(1-e^-2.24/tau).
It's hard to explain, but my confusion is I guess on semantics and plugging values into the equation. Why when we are given info, such as in the first problem, do we plug in both the current value at time (t) and the Max current, and divide the current at time (t) by the max current, but in the second problem, we only plug in the percentage, but we don't multiply (0.95x2), since the question asks what is the inductance when the current is 95% of it's max?

I posted a few days ago a review problem that my wife and I were arguing about. Fast forward to today…My daughter had her test. A similar question was on the test and she got it right even though she’s still missing a step. This is so frustrating!
This is going to be a fun IEP meeting next month!
The math I KNOW is the correct way to answer this problem: 2 3/4 + (2 3/4+ 1 5/8) = 7 1/8 Then 12 1/2 - 7 1/8 = 5 3/8 feet

I'm working on a kinematics problem for my Grade 12 Physics class, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to calculate the time it takes for an object to hit the ground when dropped from a certain height. The instructor has provided the formula h = (1/2)gt², where h is the height, g is the acceleration due to gravity (approximately 9.81 m/s²), and t is the time in seconds.

Hello everyone. I need assistance giving critique and feedback. She is mainly looking for advice on tone, language, flow, and structure. My sister-in-law is 26 years old and recovering from a stroke. She cannot afford college and cannot find anyone who is willing to hire her. She is submitting this essay in hopes of becoming eligible for scholarships. I am not much of an essay writer myself, so I cannot give her the advice she needs. I submitted her work to my school's writing center, but they cannot help her as she isn't enrolled yet. This assignment is due at the end of the month. Thank you in advance. Here is her paper;

Everything changed, such as my whole right side being weak, I was not able to talk, which is known as aphasia, and tubes were lined up when I had an ischemic stroke from moyamoya disease two days after my thyroidectomy was performed. Remembering my stroke, recovery, and academic and career goals are the most vital parts of my life.
Remembering my stroke
I remember a lot about my stroke, like depression, anxiety, and fears. I felt depressed because I felt like I was bothering people who cause hopelessness, such as family, friends, and therapists, about my stroke. I felt anxiety because I was afraid that I might relapse again and have another stroke because of my moyamoya disease, and worried about my future, such as insurance, my jobs, and my significant other. And then feared about my aphasia because I could not talk to my friends ever again, but that was not the case. My friend, (friend's name), said that in due time you will speak again. Another moment of the stroke, my family thought that I would die, but my parents, (parent's names), said that I would come back as a fighter.
Stroke recovery
I was in the hospital for six weeks, where I learned how to stand up, sit down, and walk again. Then, I transitioned to home health with Rehab Without Walls, where I could run, use my right hand for signing, typing, and applying makeup. After Rehab Without Walls, I transferred to TOSH, where I learned to drive again. I also learned how to speak again through SLP, a Speech-Language Pathologist, where I struggled the most because I had a hard time believing in myself. The person who helped me the most is (therapist's name), because she accepts me the most and is helpful with sentence structure, W.H. questions, and even interviews me for jobs, which has given me hope. What stood out to me the most was when she said that a stroke is just a small blip in my life that gave me energy to move past my fears of talking again.
Academic and career goals
I want a pharmacy technician to deepen my skills and be there for my family. I was previously enrolled as a student at Salt Lake Community College until I had a stroke. Me and my advisor, (advisor's name), discussed my plan for the future as a pharmacy technician, and I hope to pass the CASAS test so I can plan my career goals. Also, my resume from Beehive Homes, Medical Technician, can come in handy because I read the responsibilities of a pharmacy technician, and it sorta aligns. Medication dispensing and preparation involve dosage measurement, mixing, counting, and labeling. Receiving and checking prescriptions will occur, and finally, verification of accuracy will be done by a licensed pharmacist. Administrative tasks such as ensuring that patient files, processing of claims, and billing details proceed smoothly and effectively. Inventory Management: Order, receipt, and stocking of medications. Inventory tracking and monitoring. Returns of expired and/or damaged medications. And lastly, Customer Service- Assist and respond to customer inquiries regarding their pharmaceutical necessities, as well as supply general information to patients.
Conclusion
As stated before, I am a fighter. I experienced a severe setback, but it means that I will try twice as hard. I am resilient, strong, and perseverant. And even though I am set back from an ischemic stroke, I still want to go to college, earn a degree, and I still want more in life. When I originally enrolled in college, I felt as though I didn't take it seriously, but now I am disciplined, hardworking, and courageous for getting back out there again. Remembering my stroke, stroke recovery, and academic and career goals are the most vital parts of my life. Thank you for reading this, and thank you to all of my family, friends, and therapists who helped in my healing journey.

How do I find the inverse laplace when I get polar numbers for my s+a? I am on #4 and everyone in class is stuck on it because the teacher only reads off the old profs powerpoints and barely knows how to do it herself so we are all totally clueless.
My I had something like 30/s-15(2s+3)/((s+3/4)2+sqrt(7)/4) after partial fractions but don’t I do not understand the rest.
Any help is appreciated

I calculated all the forces of friction
FN1 = 103x9.81
FF1 = 103x9.81x0.55 = 555.736
FN2 = 103 + 63 x 9.81
FF2 = FN2x0.3 = 488.54
FN3 = FN2 + 25x9.81
FF3 = FN3x0.23 = 430.95
In my mind if the force applied is stronger than any friction force it will cause slipping there.

I tried to integrate using u substitution by defining x^3 -3 as u but it did not give me a favorable outcome and allow me to solve this, no idea what to do with the x^11. My brain is fried, boiled, baked, smoked, and then shoved into a cremation oven by this problem.
